Re: Pirates and you bloody sure well know them too
Atlantia: I yelled to my crew. " Get your sorry selves up and ready to cast off." To jack afterwards. " Great. and what lies that a ways?" I asked him.

Re: Pirates and you bloody sure well know them too
Jack opened his mouth to say something, then paused, thinking. At length, he brightly said, "I have no idea." With a rouge-ish smile, he boarded his own ship. Stepping purposefully up to the helm, he barked out, "On deck, you scabrous dogs! Raise anchor, lower canvas, make ready to cast off!"
Here at the helm of his ship, gone were any pretenses of a bumbling, incompetent, idiotic drunk. Here, Jack Sparrow was most at home. Here, he was in command. His words were no longer slurred, and they were spoken with the preciseness of a very clever man.
The crew scrambled on deck and made ready to leave off. Barbossa walked up to Jack. "And where we be headed, Cap'n?"
Jack had half-lied when he told Atlantia he had no idea what they were looking for. He knew exactly what it was and on what island it was, now this compass would tell him how to get there. Jack looked Barbossa straight in the eye, "We're headed to Isla de Fuego, mate."

Atlantia: I hopped on board " Come on cast off men! Faster or do you want to stay behind here?"I asked my eyes showing my seriousness. " Fallowed jack!" I told them going to the helm.

Book: I slowly popped off the lid to the barrel and stood up grimacing as my spine clicked into place. I had little time to fill my traitorus stomach and find a roomier hiding spot. I tip toed over to a barrel of apples and grabbed a handful, they usually had alot of apples on board.

Re: Pirates and you bloody sure well know them too
"Isla de Fuego?" Barbossa spoke like he was talking to an idiot, "Jack, the whole island's a volcanoe."
Jack nodded like he was speaking to an idiot, "Hence the name 'Isla de Fuego', 'Island of Fire'. Now make way to leave before I keelhaul you. Savvy?"
Barbossa backed off reluctantly and made sure the other pirates were going about everything in the right way. They were soon underway.
One pirate, though, was still down below. One of Jack's dearest friends: Bootstrap Bill. He happened to be catching a nap, when he heard the thud of a barrel lid hitting the floor. He sat up, "Who's there?" He saw the girl, but didn't seem very interested, "A stowaway, eh?"

Book: I froze and did a slow 360 degree circle ending up staring at a pirate. I nodded slowly and put a hand to my vanished sword. "Why?" I asked slowly
Re: Pirates and you bloody sure well know them too
Jack pulled out the compass and studied it absentmindedly. It appeared to be your normal, average, everyday compass. What was so special about it? Except for the fact that it didn't point North, of course.
Bootstrap shrugged. "I just wanted to know if you were a stowaway, or if Jack's begin taking on female crew members. I somehow doubt Barbossa would let 'im. He's real superstitious for a quartermaster. So, you mus' be a stowaway."

Re: Pirates and you bloody sure well know them too
Book: I put on my best waif eyes and tried to look small and helpless, I had the small part down with me being five foot, it was the helpless thing I had to work at. "I's couldn't help it sir, I being nothin' but a street kid. I needed to get away sir, them big men with guns were after me I didn't wants to be hung. Cross me heart, all I be wantin is safe passageway sir." I crossed my fingers behind my back and tried to look younger than I was. I was a hearty age of twenty one so I could go where I wanted, the fact was I just wanted to leave the port cause when your a wanted pirate the law don't like you too much.
I looked back at him and let a few tears roll down my chheks for affect.

Re: Pirates and you bloody sure well know them too
Bootstrap looked at her groggily. "I believe ye," he shrugged, "We're all on the run from the law. Just saying you sail for Sparrow on the Pearl is now enough to get you hung in Smithport. Anyways, it's the cap'n you'll be wantin' to convince. 'E's up top."

Re: Pirates and you bloody sure well know them too
Book: I dropped the act frowned. "Damn. I should read the ship names first before I get on. Bugger. I guess I have to go meet this Cap'n Jack fellow." I slowly climbed up the stairs to the top deck in search of the Captin avoiding the looks from other crew members. I knew I was wearing a pirate's dress but it was a bit torn from my last fight so it looked a bit strange.
Re: Pirates and you bloody sure well know them too
The pirates' eyes widened at the sight of a woman on the ship, in a torn dress, no less. The eye widening caused Raggetti's wooden eye to plop out. He scurried around the ship, trying to catch it.
Jack snapped the compass shut and looked to see what all the ruckus was about. He saw a young woman climb on deck. He raised an eyebrow. Where had she come from?

Re: Pirates and you bloody sure well know them too
Book: I decided to make the best of the staring and I started to wave at them. "Thank you, thank you. I'll be making appearences all week, no autographs sorry." I said loudly. I went up to a man holding a wooden eye in his hand and I nudged him, "Come to Thursday's show it'll be a blast, we'll even have a lucky winner." I grinned at him devilishly my inner actress coming out.
Re: Pirates and you bloody sure well know them too
"I- I-" Raggetti stammered, trying to pop his eye back into place. It honestly wasn't that pretty to watch. Without the eye there, there was a big hole in his face, into which he shoved the wooden sphere, rubbing and blinking until it fit. When he'd finally finished, the girl was gone, sadly, going up to the captain. "Why does Cap'n always get the girls?" he dejectedly asked his friend Pintel, "What's he got that I don't?"
"For one thing: both his eyes," Pintel said snarkily.

Re: Pirates and you bloody sure well know them too
Book: On my way to the Captin I turned and winked at the one eyeed guy just to satisfy my inner demon. I turned around and faced the captin quickly. I batted my eyelashes at him and grinned. "Ello cap'n Jack, Penny and June give thier regards." I smacked him on the cheek twice and grinned bigger.

"Ah, Penny and June, the kitten and the tiger," Jack said with a reminiscent smile on his face, "It's clear they don't have too high an opinion of me, to not even have a proper slap delivered." He took a step away from the girl, in case she decided to make up for it. He looked her up and down, but didn't recognize her. "Who might you be?"

Re: Pirates and you bloody sure well know them too
Book: "Booky, a humble stowaway and pirate on the run." I said with a small curtsy. I brushed out my tattered skirts from my sham and looked at him with a raised eyebrow. "Well?"
Re: Pirates and you bloody sure well know them too
"Stowaway, eh? You really should've looked at the ship before you snuck aboard," Jack said. The Black Pearl was the only ship in all the Caribbean, most likely all the world, that had black sails; even the wood she was built from was black. This inky, midnight black enhanced the rumor that she was a demon risen from the deepest pit of Davy Jones' Locker, as was her captain. The first part of that was actually almost true, the second part... not so much.
Jack turned back to the ship's wheel, then heard Booky's rather indignant remark. Casting a glance back over his shoulder, he said, " 'Well' what?"

Re: Pirates and you bloody sure well know them too
Book: I raised my eyebrows and crossed my arms ignoring how it pulled the front of my stupid dress down. "Well aren't you going to throw me in the brig or something? Thats what all the others did, and anyway I did read the name of the ship. I purposefully got on board, terrible guarding by the way it was too easy." I licked my lips and began checking my finger nails. He wasn't as tough as I thought him to be.
Re: Pirates and you bloody sure well know them too
Jack turned to look at her. "What point and purpose would be served in locking you in the brig? Most sailors, most people, don't dare come near the Black Pearl, as she's 'a devilish demon risen from the deepest, darkest hellhole of Davy Jones' Locker' and captained by 'a fearsome, wily pirate who struck a deal with Davy Jones himself'. No one'll know you're here. In that case, you might as well work."

Re: Pirates and you bloody sure well know them too
Book: I raised my eyebrows at his outbreak and stood back. "Doesn't look too scary and the captin seems a few cannon balls short of a cannon...." I mummered to myself. I would not work, I became a pirate so I didn't have to work. There was no way I'd be working, no possible way.
Re: Pirates and you bloody sure well know them too
" 'Few cannonballs short of a cannon' ," Jack mumbled, seeming almost impressed, "I'll have to remember that one." He looked from Booky, out at the other pirates, then back. "You'd better go help Raggetti trim the jib. Unless, of course, you'd rather be in the brig? But, I warn you, it's not a pleasant place to be; full of rats and bilgewater. No place for a lady to be, pirate or no."

Re: Pirates and you bloody sure well know them too
Book: I grinned at him devilishly. "I been in worse mate, a little water and some rats don't scare me... Also, I will not be climbing any ropes in a dress or otherwise." I patted my dress down once again and sauntered over to Raggetti, I let my hips swing for affect. With a simple swish of my hair and a blinking of my eyes, a little pout here and waif eyes there I got him doing the work by himself. I leaned againts the railing and occasionally smiled at him to keep him working, some men are soo predictable.
Re: Pirates and you bloody sure well know them too
"Who said anything about climbing ropes?" Jack mumbled. He followed Book with his eyes and watched her use her 'womanly charms' to trick the simple-minded pirate. So well distracted was Raggeti, that he was botching the task at hand, making a tangled mess of rope and sail. "Oi! One-eye!" he barked out, "Look alive there! We're trying to trim canvas, not shred it! Stop eying the bonnie lass and get to work!"
"Sorry, Cap'n!" Raggeti called out cheerfully. In a softer, equally cheerful, tone, he added, "Not used t' working wif a woman onboard. Some call it bad luck, bu' I says it's an improvement."
As a point of clarification, Captain Jack often shouted aboard ship, as that was the only way to keep a crew of pirates on task and under control. Threats such as 'Do it, or I'll flog and keelhaul ye' also generally worked. Some of the pirates, though, didn't like being ordered around, let alone captained, by someone they thought was an inept, foolish, idiotic drunkard; even though there was so much more to Jack Sparrow than they realized. Regardlesss, Raggetti was much too distracted to notice anything.

Re: Pirates and you bloody sure well know them too
Book: I grinned at the captain and blew him a kiss. I had Raggetti wound around my little finger, I did like the sensation of power. I walked back to captain and put on a little pout, " Somethin' wrong capt'n?" I batted my eyes innocently.
