Re: Pirates and you bloody sure well know them too
Book: I furrowed my brows in thought."Prolly not but it depends sometimes." I said.I looked to pintel and offered him a sassy wink because I could and looked back to Barbosa with raised eyebrow hoping it was the answer he was looking for.
Re: Pirates and you bloody sure well know them too
"Depends on what? The insanity of the crew?" Barbossa asked incredulously, "Lass, when we get back to the Pearl, why don't ye ask old Jack just how he came across the ship. Then ye'll see why most the crew has their doubts about him."
Barbossa turned and walked away, but not before snatching the silk away from Raggeti, chastising him for "getting dirty fingermarks all over it."

Book: I frowned then sauntered back to the ship thinking. I patted Raggeti on the head as I passed by just for a laugh. Once on the ship I sauntered to Jack checking his compass . "Eh, Jack, how'd you come by this ship?" I asked carefully.
Re: Pirates and you bloody sure well know them too
Jack scoffed as he looked from the compass out across the ocean. Latching the compass shut, pulling out his spyglass, and looking out at the same spot as before, he answered, "I didn't 'come by' it. She's always been mine. It's a rather boring story, actually. Interesting to some, I suppose. I doubt you want to hear it. Unless, of course, you do."

Back!
Molly: "Well I wouldn't have asked if I didn't want to know." I said raising my eyebrows.

Re: Pirates and you bloody sure well know them too
"Oh," Jack said, snapping the spyglass shut, "In that case, I might as well tell it to you." He looked over at a pirate who had just touched down on deck after scaling the rigging. "Oi, Bootstrap! Take the helm, will ye?"
"Aye, Cap'n," the pirate called Bootstrap nodded, he seemed quite unhappy.
"William's been a little... off as of late," Jack said, to himself for the most part, "Should probably see what's got 'im down. Ah, well." Then he turned to Book again. "Pull up a barrel, any barrel."
The two sat down on two seperate barrels, probably containing rope or gunpowder, and Jack proceeded to tell the despondent tale of the fastest ship to ever sail, the Black Pearl.

Book: My eye grew wide then I cocked an eyebrow once he'd finished. "really? You're not lying? Truly?" I asked leaning forward. I licked my lips and waited for an answer.
Re: Pirates and you bloody sure well know them too
“I am truly not lying,” Jack began, relaxing back against the gunwale, “Hard as it may be to believe, your dear old Jack was once an honest sailor. I know, I know. Pirate by birth and blood, no way he could have ever been anything else. But I was! Captain of a merchant ship.” He lowered his voice, “For the EITC. Just don’t go spreading that little fact about.”
“Cap’n,” Bootstrap interrupted, as unhappily as ever, “Where exactly are we setting course to?”
Jack dug about in his pockets until he found the scrap of cloth from the island chest and handed it to Bootstrap, as well as key, “The rest of the map is on the desk in my cabin. One look, and I trust you’ll know where to go.” Once Bootstrap and gone off, Jack turned back to Book, “I was told to take a shipload of cargo to New Avalon. The day we were due to leave, I found out the cargo was not cargo at all. It was people. Slaves. Needless to say, when we left, it was not for New Avalon, but for a safe island where I set them all go free.”

Re: Pirates and you bloody sure well know them too
Book: I felt my heart melt a bit, he was a good man. Well, he had started out as one, he probably pushed the good aside and now all that was left, well, was him.
"Well, Thats something I certainly didn't expect to hear from you." I said for a lack of better words. I looked to the crew and shifted uncomfortably there was a strange feeling about, strange looks, I didn't like it. Not one bit.

Re: Pirates and you bloody sure well know them too
Jack shrugged, "When you've almost become a slave yourself, your not too fond of the idea of it happening to others. Anyway, because of the fact that I "lost cargo", Cutler Beckett, wonderful man that he is, took away my ship and threw myself in jail. A few months later, they led me out to the beach. I had no idea why, until I saw my ship, the Wicked Wench, bobbing in the sea about a mile off.
"They branded me a pirate, then fired carcass charges at the Wench. Seeing her in flames was more than I could bear, so I did what any man would - I broke free and swam out to try and save her. Couldn't, of course. One heartbeat from death, who should come striding up but Davy Jones. I managed to strike a bargain with him. He ressurected the Wench and let me be on my merry way.
"She needed a new name, though. The flames had burned her sails and turned her timbers black as coal. You ever heard of the parable "The Pearl of Great Price*"? It seemed fitting. Thus, the Black Pearl was born."
Barbossa, who had evidently been listening, came walking up, "And then ye came to Tortuga, and found yerself this fine crew. Two years later, here we are. That story's even better the second time it's heard." He sat down on another nearby barrel. "Say Jack, the crew and I have been talking and... Well, the ship's articles say everything's equal shares, right? That should mean the location of this treasure we're after, too, shouldn't it?"
"I suppose so," Jack said, thinking it over, "Bootstrap's got the map, ask him if you can have a look."
Barbossa gave a small, yellow-toothed grin. Then, he got up and left.
*"Again, the Kingdom of Heaven is like a man who is a merchant seeking fine pearls, who having found one pearl of great price, he went and sold all that he had, and bought it."

Re: Pirates and you bloody sure well know them too
Book: I furrowed my brow and digested the story thinking through it and single bit. I cast a side glance to the crew and shuddered once more. "Jack, don't you think it's unwise to tell a bunch of pirates where the treasure is located? I mean it seems rather foolish, if you ask me.." I said rubbing my arms.
It just doesn't seem quite right here, not the previous jolly feeling it had before.

Re: Pirates and you bloody sure well know them too
Jack shrugged again, "I trust them, though. I have to. If a captain can't trust his own crew, who can he?"
Seemingly without reason, the crew began filtering down below deck. Going against the flow of people, Bootstrap came up to where Jack and Book were sitting. "Cap'n," he said breathlessly, evidently distraught, "There's something you need to know. The crew-"
"Is out of rum," Barbossa interrupted, stepping up and putting a hand on Bootstrap's shoulder, silencing him, "And I'm afraid my key to the rum hold has gone missing."
Never one to deprive sailors of the only liquid that stayed suitable for drinking at sea, Jack got up and went to retrieve some rum from down below.
Barbossa looked at Bootstrap with a stoney-eyed glare, before releasing him from an almost-iron grip.

Book: I furrowed my brow confused a bit and looked to bootstrap. I couldn't catch his eye for it was staring at Barbosa, I bit my lip. Something was wrong, something was defiantly wrong.
Re: Pirates and you bloody sure well know them too
Barbossa looked over at Book's confused expression. "Tides are shifting, lassie," he said, "And he, or she, who falls behind needs to be left behind."

Re: Pirates and you bloody sure well know them too
Book: "Pirate's code I know but in what way are they shifting? Which wind is blowing?" I asked growing cautious.
Re: Pirates and you bloody sure well know them too
"The tides are shifting for the better," Barbossa answered, "Blowing in the wind of change."
Ragetti, who had walked up as well, sniffling and rubbed a tear from his real eye. He looked at Barbossa, "You ought to be a poet."
Bootstrap realized that Book didn't want such criptic answers, but before he could give her a straight one, Barbossa said, "Bootstrap set course accordin' to the map." He begrudgingly went to go steer the ship.

Re: Pirates and you bloody sure well know them too
Book: I turned and headed for the railing only to frown as we headed towards a little spit of land, a far ways off so far but we'd be closer in a matter of hours. Is that the island?" I asked,
Re: Pirates and you bloody sure well know them too
Barbossa went over to Book, "Where the treasure is? Nay, lass. But it's just as important." Then he stalked off, a smirk plastered on his twisted features.
~*Time Skip: That Night*~
Jack awoke to the sound of the hammer of a flintlock pistol being clicked back, before being pulled roughly to his feet.
"What the bloody Hell is going on here?" he asked, though he didn't expect an answer. The sight of his first mate, Hector Barbossa, pointing a pistol at him made it clear what was happening. This was mutiny.
To his credit, Jack remained calm. "What is the world coming to when a captain can't even trust his own crew?" he observed dryly.
"The self-same crew that hasn't had a decent meal in a month because that captain can't be bothered to search for anything of more value than a scrap of cloth," Barbossa retorted, "What's that crew to do?"
"Kindly and politely tell their captain that they're hungry and would very much appreciate a stop-off at a fruit-filled island?" Jack suggested.
Barbossa laughed, "We were thinking more along the lines of violently marooning him on a god-forsaken spit of land." At Barbossa's command, Jack was dragged up to the top deck.

bari can u reply to Part of a Pack? it's quite dead and depressing TT_TT
Re: Pirates and you bloody sure well know them too
Book: I sat up at all the rukus frightened, I slipped on the dress and climbed up to the top deck quietly, having left my shoes in my cabin. I looked around panicked, "What's going on?" I asked to Raggetti who was standing near me.
I fluttered my lashes out of habit looking at him dead in the eyes- eye.

Re: Pirates and you bloody sure well know them too
"Well," Ragetti said, as though explaining a soap opera, "Barbossa and quite a few of the crew members would like to actually go after real treasure, or at least raid a few towns. The rest of us just want a meal of more than insect-y hardtack. As you can see, Jack isn't really serving our best interests. So, we're marooning him on this little island we saw."
Pintel walked past, "It's absolutely perfect. Teeny-tiny. No fresh water in sight. 'Twill be a quick death."
One of the pirates leveled a loose plank across the gunwale. Jack raised an eyebrow and looked at Barbossa.
"We figured it'd be more fun for us if ye walked off, rather than us having to go through all the trouble of throwing ye off," Barbossa answered.
"Ah," Jack said simply, before he was forced up onto the rickety piece of wood.

Re: Pirates and you bloody sure well know them too
Book: I frowned then stepped beside Barbosa."This isn't right, this should not be taking place! If you do have to maroon him why not on a little boat in the middle of the ocean, giving him half a chance? Ou may be pirates but don't any of you fellows have a heart? Or a portion of one?" I asked going into a dramatic speech.
Re: Pirates and you bloody sure well know them too
"Ye see, lass," Barbossa said, as though explaining something to a very small child, "Giving him 'alf a chance of livin' would defeat the purpose of maroonin' 'im, now wouldn't it? As for us havin' hearts, there are times when I question whether or not we do, but, in the end, I don't really care. Any other words of wisdom ye'd like to share, lassie? No? Let's get on with it then."
He turned and tossed Jack a pistol, loaded with the customary single shot saying, "There's yer alternative to starvation."
Some of the crew members with a more sick sense of humor laughed at the thought of Jack Sparrow shooting himself. Others stayed silent, but not many.
A thought suddenly struck Jack as he tucked the pistol into his belt. "If I may ask a question, gents: How did you even get into my cabin?" Upon passing through it, the door had not been forced open, and Jack always kept it locked with the key hidden in a jacket pocket.
Almost as soon as he'd asked the question, the answer dawned on him. He looked at the man, his best friend, who had not returned the cabin key earlier that day. "Fer that, and fer findin' the little island over there," Barbossa smirked, "Ye can thank yer friend Bootstrap." Bootstrap looked down at the deck, unable to meet Jack's eye. "Now start walkin'," Barbossa commanded.

Re: Pirates and you bloody sure well know them too
Book: I felt a little pop in my brain and grinned evilly, there went my calmness. I strutted up to Barbosa and glared up at him with all my 5" frame could muster."Do not speak to me as if I am a child, I am not a child nor an uneducated woman, I can think in four different languages. I also thought of this which you seemed to miss in your plan, what are you going to do about me?" I asked.
Although I wasn't a huge fan of Jack Sparrow what they all were doing was wrong, I can see mutinying a mean harsh captain but jack was nowhere near mean. I also just placed Barbosa in the untrustabke category in my mind meaning if I stayed aboard he'd be the subject of many unfortunate incidents.
I put my hands on my hips and licked lips waiting for an answer.
