Other info: He lives by himself in a Peter Parker-esque apartment room after unofficially declaring independence from his parents. Has a younger sister. Has been in trouble with local police for both petty theft and frequently 'borrowing' motorcycles. He always gives them back though...

Harper: Ech....school. Not a big fan of it. In fact, whenever I could help it, I wouldn't even come. But lately, my attendance has been more acceptable than I would like, but I suppose that couldn't be helped. If I didn't want to arouse suspicion or get arrested or be found by my parents again (if they were even looking for me...which they probably weren't and won't unless I happen to win the lottery or get megarich some other way) I had to come to school on a regular basis. Heck, I hadn't even had an absence in 10 days! This was too good for me...even the teachers were noticing, and were starting to tease me about it, asking if I was going to "take school seriously for once". My answer? Normally it's HELL NO! And I miss school the next 3 days to drive my point home. Normally. Lately, for some reason, I haven't been doing that, which is very odd....I'll have to pick up my game tomorrow or something. Find something else to do.

As I pondered my odd non-tardiness, I sipped my coffee. Suddenly an idea came to my mind, and my eyes grew wide and I quickly tore the coffee cup away from me and studied it suspiciously. Maybe it's the coffee...have I been using a different brand? Nope, I've always been going to starbucks...unless....Starbucks was using a different type of coffee! That HAD to be it! A different type of coffee that somehow magically made you WANT to come to school AGAINST YOUR OWN WISHES! Accept for you don't KNOW it's against your own wishes until you are already AT school, and by then it is too late to walk out because then someone will see you and make you come to the office or worse, they'll get the school police officer to tackle you to the ground and if you scream they'll tase you and make you piss all over yourself....

I was so engulfed in my starbucks-coffee-conspiracy theory that I nearly jumped when I heard my name being belted out in the hallway. Immediately, I spun around on one foot, the arm holding my coffee outstretched from me as I sloshed hot brainwashing liquid on the side of the cardboard cup (or whatever it was made of). I looked at the person who appeared to be the one who had called me. And...she was UNfamiliar. But I am quite bad with names anyways. "Um...yes? Can I help you?" I asked.

Ember: i raised an eyebrow. "Ember Flaim. I hadnt really seen you around before so i was going to offer a tour. unless you dont want one." i said, reading his mind. huh, youd think a guy would reconize the only girl in school with cherry red hair.

Harper: "I don't need a tour!" I said, slightly offended. Just because I didn't come to school a lot didn't mean I didn't know where everything was. Jeesh, I wasn't stupid or anything. "Besides, I happen to be a little busy." I said, turning around. I walked off, peering menacingly at the coffee cup to see if I could scare a confession from it. Finally, my verdict was made clear. I reached a trash can, and with a solemn look, poured the rest of the coffee into it. "this hurts me more than it hurts you." I said grimly, "But you have betrayed my trust, and our relationship is over." And with that said, I threw the coffee cup into the bin, lid and all. I kept the straw though.

Ember: "Sorry, just thought you were new." i shrugged, running up so i kept his pace. "Most people dont forget the girl with cherry red hair. actually, i think you are the first."

Harper: I looked at the girl. She's still here? "Your thinking processes were INCORRECT." I said dramatically, kicking the trashcan for double emphasis. "And I, unlike 'most' people, have more important things on my mind than remembering the 'girl with cherry red hair'.

Harper: I raised my own eyebrow at the girl. "Who said you pissed me off, or that I was even pissed off?" I said back, hooking my thumbs in my pockets. I stood up a bit straighter as she blocked my pathway of escape. Well, that's not true. I ALWAYS have a pathway of escape. It's just that some are more convenient than others.

Harper: Thinking? Oh yeah. This was a school for abnormals. I forgot. And lo and behold, this was a mind-reader. FAN.FRIKKIN.TASTIC! She probably heard that...well SCREW HER! Yeah, I want you to hear that! "Well, I'm not pissed. Not at you anyway, and not at the moment."

Harper: About what? If she could hear my thoughts AND hear my voice, that was a lot of things to be sure about..."Yes, i am sure about everything," I said, killing 2 birds with one stone...or 2 fish with one hammer...or hook. I don't know, the hook would be hard. "Otherwise, I would not say it."
