The boy looked confused, why would she thank him for that? But instead of saying anything he just continued to hug her at a loss for words.

Alice pulled away, looking down at her bloody hand. She sniffled before speaking, "Why did you stand up for me against them?" she whispered in the same voice she had when they first met last year. "They're just bullies...no harm done...right?" The look on her face said otherwise.

Alice looked like she could have cried. She suddenly hugged him, trying not to let the tears flow. She tried to stop her trembling.

The scene changed again, it was two years later and they were both in high school now. Alice sat in her seat tapping her pencil against the desk. She yawned then winced as her throat ached. She cleared her throat, noticing it felt better already, and sighed softly. She looked around and spotted Nate. Her lips curled into a scowl which he returned with a creepy smile. She shivered in disgust and turned back to the lesson on the board. This was one of the classes she had without Kyle. She told him about it but made it seem as if it was nothing; as if she could take care of herself. And she could.

(Fool this was harder then the last one lol, buh here's wah I got.)

Kyle stood in the back of his classroom talking to 2 other guys and a girl. They were gathered into a square. The rest of the class were sitting down, but they didn't like the class so they rarely listened to the teacher. A few days ago the teacher stopped trying and made an agreement to just leave them alone if they handed in their work. The classroom was 3 rooms away from Alice's on the same hallway.
"James, you hear what's going on over in room 3004(Sorry my school runs by 1000's so it's common knowledge for me to dip 1000's for classrooms)?" Kyle said to one of the guys.
"Yea, everyone has heard about it by now. Why you care?" The guy replied to him.
"Cause their going to need some help."
"And you're planning to help them?" The girl of the group asked, hugging the guy named James.
"What's it to you?" Kyle gave her a dirty look.

(mehh sorry) Alice sighed and excused herself, needing to clear her head. She was so confused. It had been weeks since those four made her life a living hell. Why haven't they done anything yet? As she wondered the halls, her hand rested on her hip and her other hand ran through her hair. She leaned against a row of lockers and closed her eyes. (btw this is right before she got beat up. as in this class is the class right before the one she gets beat up in)

The girl returned the look holding James tighter as if to avoid punching Kyle.
"You'll be in some dip trouble if the school finds out about this stuff." James seemed concerned.
"I know, but when have I been the one to listen to authority?" Kyle replied. "I don't even listen to Alice half the time and we've been friends since... Wow." Kyle paused for a minute. "We've been friends since I can remember for the most part."
The third guy in the group laughed a little, "Well that generally happens when your average friend length is 2 days."
"Hey, hey, hey, hey there. It's not my fault people don't understand the term 'anger issues'." Kyle joked with them.
"Yea, the few friends that last longer then that have learned it means, annoy and go home bleeding." All except the girl began to laugh, the girl however finally let go of James and walked away from the group.
"Annoyances..." Kyle stared at her walking away.

Alice returned to the class and to her seat only for the bell to ring. She groaned and shook her head, packing up her things. She swung her bag over her shoulder and walked into the hallway.

Kyle walked out of the classroom after grabbing my bag, the group he had been talking to left near immediately. Kyle simply waited outside the door for Alice like he normally did to walk her to the next class.

Alice spotted Kyle and gave a faint smile. "Hey," she said, not in the happiest of moods. She felt eyes on her and looked over her shoulder, seeing those four. She shook her head and turned back to Kyle, her head slightly down.

Kyle looked back to see them and shot them a dirty look with his eyes bent down and frowning. "They wont do a thing I'm sure. Told you it should just pass over eventually." He looked forward and avoided running into someone. He too was uneasy but was less likely to show it then anyone at the school.

Alice smiled at Kyle and surprisingly gave him a hug, "Thanks, Kyle. For everything." she pulled away, gave him one of her signiture smiles, and went to class. She took her seat in the front row, just as the bell rang.
