Carissa: I stood up from the table and followed Damian and one of the male waiters out. Once he had let go of Damian he turned to me, before he could say anything I punched him square in the jaw. I felt a terrible pain run thorugh my hand, but I knew I didn't break it. "How dare you! We weren't making a terrible scene in there! It's just beacuse he's Irish isn't it? You dirty scum bag!" I screamed loudly at him, then I turned to Damian and raised my hand as if to slap him. I brought my hand down, but stopped when I was close to his cheek. I put my hands on my hips and turned away from him and sighed.

"You're welcome." I respond, fingering the condensation that had gathered on the brim of my mug. "So, your sister. Tell me about her." I say, turning my torso halfway toward him.

[Charlie]

Damian-

I flinched as her hand came close, I didn't need more abuse I thought those days were over. I knew her hand hurt, she had no clue how to punch. I sighed, "Is your hand okay?" I asked.


Keith-

"Me sis, is brilliant, she is seventeen. Long deep red hair. Has a voice that was stolen from the angels." Keith smiled, he loved his sister, and missed her. "If it weren't for Damo she would be dead, or hurt really badly."
He quickly regretted saying Damian's name. This would bring on a flood of questions, and probably even a trip to go find him. He did not think it was the time to talk to Damian right now. The betrayal was still fresh on his mind, it would still be burning in Damian's.

[Charlie]

Carissa: "Shut up!" I growled between clenched teeth. "Irish..." I took a deep breath but it didn't calm me.

[Charlie]

Damian-

I turned around, another person I couldn't trust. Why did I have to tell her so much. She didn't really care. I headed towards the pub that was a few doors down.

[Charlie]

(Sorry for being gone, and you know I'm going to follow you in the pub, cause if I don't then our stories get seperated and that wouldn't be good for the plot of our story, so unless you have a better idea, then I'm following you! )

Carissa: I heard him walking away. No, no, no. This was why I never could keep any friends, with my opinionated, cocky attitude! I turned around and yelled, "Wait!"

[Charlie]

Damian-

I turned on my heal, and looked at her, blue eyes searing and sad. "What?" I asked.

(Sorry, I haven't had time to be on in a while! )
Carissa: "I'm not going to say I'm sorry. I'm going to say that we should agree to disagree on the women/Irish topics. So, if you still want to be around me, where are you going? and I'll come with you."

[Charlie]

Damian-

I nodded. "I'm going a place where I feel a bit more comfortable, and where everyone is welcome." I looked at her, and bit my lip worrying for her safety. "Don't leave my side while we're in there." I cautioned. I took her hand, and walked to the pub.

I pushed the door open, the music, the smell all hit me. I smiled. "Hey, Damo!" Tom the bartender shouted, "That the new mot?"

I laughed, "She's a friend Tom."

"I see it a bit differently." He said.

"I don't give a damn how ya see it." I retorted. I looked back at Carissa and smiled. I hope she wouldn't mind a few curse words slipping here and their. I hope she wouldn't mind this atmosphere. "Can I get a Guinness?" I asked.

I watched as his eyes lit up a little when he talked so fondly about his sister, sometimes using his hands to accentuate his point. I grin, memories of Patrick flooding back. Then, his mouth suddenly turned to a slight scowl at the mention of this Damo.

I crinkle my nose a little as if I'd smelt something foul, but merely shake my head. "The look in your eyes tells me not to ask about him." I observe. I've always been an excellent profiler.

[Charlie]

Keith-

"We're not on the best of terms right now." I admitted. "He gets angry very easily, and it takes him a long time to forgive. He has trust issues." I looked down. "He was me best mate, we came over on the same bloody boat. But things happened." I trailed off, taking a sip of the black stuff, and looking at her.

Carissa: I laughed at Damian and the bar tender. I still held his hand as I took in the pub. "I hope you don't mind if I don't drink?" I half-said-half-asked.

[Charlie]

Damian-

"No, being in a pub does not mean ya have to drink." I said. It had been a while, and Tom handed me the Guinness. I took the pint and lead her to a booth. I let her sit down, than sat accross from her. I started to hum the fast paced music. "So what do ya think?" I asked.

"I used to know a guy like that." I murmur, pressing my lips into a hard line. Then I shake my head, returning my eyes to his. "He'll come to his terms. Nothin you can do about it, eh?" I give this advice to both myself and him, but don't admit that.

"What do you do for work, again?" I ask. He mentioned it once, but we veered off the topic quickly.

[Charlie]

Keith-

I looked at her, "I guess not, but even if I want to appologize, which I do, he'll just harden himself and not even want to listen to me." I stopped before I began rambling. I then answered her other question. "I sell papers. I'm a newsie, or a news boy." I explained. "Specifically I work for the New York World, run by a Joseph Pulitzer." I rolled my eyes the big shot called all the shots, told people who to vote for, he ran the city.

"I've heard of him." I meet his eyes and can't resist the urge to grin, knowing that we're thinking the exact same thing. Big Joe, as everyone called him. Well, with the exception of the mentally sane people such as Keith and I. It rather puzzled me how he was able to make a living off of being a newsie alone, but I don't ask.

"And as for your friend..." I bite my lip, before continuing. "Sometimes, all you can do is let go." I trail off a bit at the end, my voice failing me. I clear it, then take another sip of my drink.

[Charlie]

Keith-

I took a nice big sip of Guinness when she said let go. I almost choked. No way in hell could I let go of my best mate. I saved his life, he saved my sister's. I picked his small helpless body off of the street that day, he had to be at least fourteen. I can't just leave that.

I finished my drink, Damian was either at his booth or the pub by now. I had to at least try to appologize. I got up, "He is one friend I can't afford to loose."

"Keith..." I start, leaving my only half finished drink aside for the bartender to take. I lightly press my hand on his arm, my eyes pleading. I swallow nervously, my Adam's apple shivering as I do so.

[Charlie]

Keith-

I turned around, "Your welcome to come with me, to try and find him." I said. It wasn't to far from here and the pub only a few blocks over.

His stand was first on my list of places to check, first of only two places, since he had been kicked out of the lodging house.

"Keith..." I sigh, raking a hand through my dark hair since I know it's no use attempting to reason with him. "You're so stubborn." I mutter, sliding off the stool with a hint of a grin twitching up the corners of my lips.

[Charlie]

Keith-

I smiled, "I realized that long ago. Thanks for the reminder though." I lauged a little. It was quite obvious I was stubborn, and I was not going to deny it.

I went to the door and held it open for her. "After you."
