James' eyes grew wide with panic.
"Baby! No.... Wake up.. oh.. please... wake up..." he pleaded, tears falling as he pressed her hand to his face tenderly.
Pain sawed through his chest as he forced the despair down, pressure in his chest causing a pounding in his head.

June began to yell again, clutching her stomach, childbirth was a bitch.

(I was stupid today... I should totally be more careful when it comes to exacto knives.. Sliced my finger when I was trying to cut some foam poster board. I need to remember to cut away from myself.. )

Just as the ambulance pulled into the ER, Jason quickly parked and helped his wife oout of the car while carrying Ameila.

James let the EMTs lead him with his wife off the the appropriate ward, panic and fear stabbing him as he took each step.
He pulled out his cell and dialed Kayla's number.
"Hey.. There's been an accident... do.. Do you think you could take the kids after school? Yeah... thanks.. I have to go... Bye."

June sat herself down in the offered wheel chair and then let herself be taken off to a room.
Here we go again...

Jason followed, keeping his hand locked with hers tightly whenever she needed it.

June screamed.
They had been going at this for hours and finally the baby had started to crown. It took all she hand not to crush Jason's hand and let out swears as she tried to expel the baby from her body.

James sat in the waiting room.
They had told him that he had to wait outside as they cut open his wife to get out the baby. They had to make sure the baby was alright before helping his wife.
He was torn.
So badly torn.

Simultaneously, two baby cries became known.
Jason laughed as his eyes filled with tears.
Another baby.
He looked to June and, like he did when Ameila was born, he pressed kisses all over her face, squeezing her hand.
"You did it. You did so good, honey..."
The other baby was placed in a nurse's arms who went to clean her up. Th doctors quickly worked to sew Raela up and keep her alive and stable. But she was hemorrhaging. Badly.

June smiled tiredly and then grimaced.
"There's another head.." A doctor said confused.
"Fuck." June grumbled.
There it went again.

James rested his head to his hands hoping and praying that she'd be okay. All she had wanted was some tea.
How could things go so wrong?

Jason's eyes widened as he looked to the doctor. "W-Wha?"
His hand instantly tightened around hers, ready to be by her side.
Again.

The nurse stepped out of the room with the sleeping little girl in her arms. She was a little smaller than most babies born at nearly nine months.
"Sir?"

And so the pushes began again and the screaming.
Another hour passed until the next child had exited her womb.
She laid back, exhausted and moaning.
"Please god, do not tell me there is another one.. Or I will just.. I dunno... give up or something..."

James stood up and practically crumbled as the woman came out with the baby.
"M..Mine?" He whispered.
And the woman nodded.
He took the baby into his arms and cradled her gently to his chest, kissing her head.
"My wife?" He asked looking up.

The woman looked sad.
"Sir, it's not looking too good," she announced.
The baby opened her eyes to reveal bright blue eyes, just like her father.

Jason shook his head and stroked back her hair, crying and smiling.
"That's it, baby...You did so good," he whispered and pressed a kiss to her lips gently before looking to the doctor for confirmation that their babies were healthy and safe.

James choked back a sob and stroked the baby's face gently.
His darling girl.
"I don't want anyone to give up. If there's hope she'll live then she'll live." He said firmly.


June closed her eyes briefly and then looked at him.
"What.. What are they?" She asked.

"A girl and a boy," he whispered, a tear grin plastered on his young handsome face.
"June, they're perfect," he nodded, pressing his lips to her forehead.

Another nurse ran out. "Beth!"
She turned away from James to her. "What's happening?"
"She's bleeding out and reaching Cardiac Arrest."
Beth silently cursed and took off after her, forgetting that James was there.

June smiled, "They better be..." She joked.
She craned her neck, trying to look at them, at her babies.
"Can..Can I hold them?"


James had to be careful. If he dropped into the terror that clutched his heart then he would drop the baby.
He kissed the child's head with shaking lips and blinked the tears out of his eyes.
"Please... Please Raela..."

"They're almost done, sweetie," he whispered and nuzzled her neck in a loving wolffish way.
Then, a nurse came with the two babies in her arms.
Jason took one of them into his arms before transferring the small boy into his wife's waiting arms.
Then, he took the other baby, a quiet sleeping baby girl, and sat down beside June, keeping her in his arms.

Then, there was a loud monotone beep coming from the room.
A lot of shouts could be heard coming from Nurses and Doctors.

June smiled and wiped away a few tears as she held her girl.
"I did good right..? I'm so tired...." She murmured, her eyes fluttering.
The machine she was hooked up to made curious beeps.

James took a few wobble steps back and sat down, he had to wipe a few of his tears off the baby's sleeping face.
"Raela... Live... for our babies..." He whispered into the child's blankets.

"June? June, keep your eyes open," he begged, eyes wide and tears filling them.
He looked desperately to the doctors. "What's happening?" he yelled.

Kayla ran into the hospital towards James with Taylor, Declan and Benji.

A nurse came by and grabbed her wrist, checking her pulse.
The other doctors checked the machine.
June opened her eyes with a frown.
"What's going on?"
"Nothing, dear.. just a malfunction." The nurse murmured while patting her hand.

James looked up with a teary face and swallow the tears down for his boys.
"Hey.. Hey... meet your new sister..." He whispered softly.
His heart ached painfully.

Jason whimpered softly as he held his son close, tears welling.
"S-So she's gonna be o-okay?"

The kids had tears in their eyes also with smiles but Taylor and Benji were the first to speak up.
"Daddy? Where's Mommy..?"

The doctor nodded and June chuckled darkly.
"You ain't getting rid of me that easy."

James knelt down slowly, "Well.. Boys.. and girl.. Mommy is in surgery right now.. we just have to hope with all our hearts that she's gonna be okay.. K?" He said with a little smile to them.
God.
He hated to lie to them.
He had carefully put up his mental wall, Declan had been showing signs that he was quite good with the mindreading thing.

Kayla frowned with tears in her eyes.
How bad is it? she mouthed to him.

James looked at her with red eyes and shook his head sadly.
Bad. He mouthed back.
The kids had already closed their eyes and he could see their mouths moving in silent prayers of hope. He cracked a small smile.
Hope.
He was desperate for it.

Kayla let out a silent sob and shook her head.
What's happening to her?

James shook his head.
I don't know. That's what kills me.

Kayla nodded and ushered the kids away, leading them to the hospital playroom.
A nurse came out with a sad look on her face.

James looked up, despair as he shook his head.
"No..nononono... she.. she promised me.. we'd be together.. nonono..." He trailed off.
His arms shook and he was worried he might drop the baby.
He looked at the nurse.
