Raela sat frozen at the computer, eyes glued and lips parted. Real-time video footage was playing, doctors at the main Bioware lab were preparing an experiment.
On a little girl.
She couldn't see the face of her.
But she could hear her cries and screaming.
The words of Mommy and Save me were prodominant.

A doctor came in and looked up from her clipboard, seeing June and Jason.
"Miss, are you sure you should be moving about to your husband's bedside?"
Her eyes seemed worried and sympathetic for the southern man in a coma.

James' brow furrowed, paternal instinct kicking in and his protectiveness overpowering his tiredness.
"Baby.. is that..?" He left the question open.
He slowly placed his hands on her shoulders.

June flapped a hand.
"I could be bleeding to death but I'm not leaving this bastard's side... actually.." June murmured and sat up.
Then she grimaced.
Great.
She had ripped her stitches.
"Oh, not again.. So I might actually be bleeding out.. Perhaps a little aid is needed..."

The doctor sighed and led her over to the other bed beside him, helping her sit down and patching her up.
"Just try to be careful."

Raela's breath shook a little, tears gliding down her cheeks.
"I don't know..."

June laughed.
"Clearly you don't know me... but sure.. for the sake of not bleeding to death, I'll be careful.. I just need that man to wake up and stop being such an ass.." She ended with a little choked out sob.
June wiped her eyes quickly and forced a smile.
She wasn't gonna cry.

James wrapped his arms around her, and kissed her head.
"Should we get her anyway? Any child in Bioware's hands... well.. we know what happens..."

Raela sniffled and nodded.
"I'll call Kayla to take the boys and Ameila to Jason and June," she whispered and got up, grabbing her cell, and went to the other room to make the phone call.

The doctor nodded and helped her back to Jason's side.
"June...I'm afraid we don't know if...If he'll ever wake up. The laceration was especially deeper towards the heart. And he lost a large amount of blood. And the stab wounds and broken ribs..."

James went to the boys in the guest room and gingerly picked them up and started putting on their regular clothes while they slept.
He smiled.
His boys were such deep sleepers.

June frowned.
"He's gonna wake up. He didn't have a head injury, nor brain trauma. The wounds are just.. superficial, nothing important was severed.. He'll wake up.. and if he doesn't.. I'm gonna kill that bastard myself." She stated.
She smacked him on the face, gently, and tried to hide her quivering lip.
"He won't go down like that..."

And then Declan stirred.
"Daddy?" he asked sleepily.

The doctor frowned and sighed.
She nodded then walked away.

James stroked his boy's cheek.
"Hey, son.. You're gonna spend a bit of time with Kayla today, sorry to wake you.. Daddy was just getting your clothes on, go back to sleep, it's okay.." He murmured softly.

June wrapped her arms protectively around the sleeping male.
"You're gonna wake up with my sheer will.. If you don't... I'll never have sex with you again. Ever. Especially if you don't wake up in the next few minutes..."

"I don't wanna," he yawned, stretching his hands over his head.

But Jason's eyes remained closed and his body motionless.
His heartbeat was still weak and slow.

James laughed quietly, "Well, don't then.. but don't wake your brother.. he's sleeping like a good kid.."
James ruffled the boy's hair tenderly and kept his mental wall up, a trick he had learned the hard way.
Lets just say he wasn't ready to have another 'Talk' with the boys.

June sighed.
"Well.. looks like you're not gonna have sex for a while, too bad.. I was reading a few things online..." She continued, trying to do anything but cry.
She had heard people in comas could hear you talk, perhaps he'd hear her.
Perhaps.

Raela walked into the room, sniffling and wiping away tears.
"Mommy?"
She looked to her awake son and smiled at him.
"Mommy? Why are you crying?"
Her heart could have broken right there. He was so much like his father.
"Mommy just had a bad dream is all."
"One of those nightmares Daddy says you get?"
She nodded and picked her son up, hugging him close.
"But Mommy is better now, right?" he asked sweetly.
She pressed a kiss to his cheek.
"Mommy's better now."

And then, his heart began to quicken until it stopped.

James watched her for a moment and examined her face.
From what he gathered, she was now determined to save that little girl and Kayla was going to be over shortly.
James wiped a few tears from her face and kept it there for a moment, looking to her eyes.
"I love you.." He murmured.

June paused, the long beep acting like knife in her heart.
She screamed for doctors and scrambled off the bed, no doubt ripping her stitches again.
"Don't you die on me.. you.. Bastard!" She shouted, tears now flowing down her cheeks as the doctors rushed in and started up the shock machine thingy.
Save him, dammit, save him.

"And I love you," she whispered back, pale green irises locking onto his blue ones.

The doctor shocked Jason with the Defibrilator but nothing happened.
They did it again, once, twice, thrice more but his heart ceased to beat back to life.
Just as the nurse turned off the EKG and the doctor was about to call 'T.o.D' or Time of Death, his eyes snapped open and his chest heaved, sucking in much needed air.

James looked up when that subtle knock at the door notified them of Kayla's presence.
"We best be off then.. I love you.. boys..." He murmured, placing a kiss on their heads and grabbing Raela's hand once she had done the same.
They walked to the door and let Kayla in, and left.


June stood in a corner, covering her mouth and openly sobbed as the scene played out.
She was just about to die inside as the doctor looked at his watch.
It was the sound of angels as Jason gasped for air.
June was both sinfully glad and outrageously angry.
"YOU RAT BASTARD! HOW DARE YOU ATTEMPT TO DIE BEFORE ME! GOD...GOD DAMN YOU TO HELL!" She screamed and stormed out, fuming.
Sure, she was angry, but she also didn't want him to see how her stitches had ripped an a lovely blossom of blood had started to stain her hospital gown.

Jason's hoarse yelling could be heard as he tried to go to his wife. The nurses and doctors held him down.

Raela snapped out her wings and took a running start before launching herself into the air.

June crossed her arms angrily as a doctor stitched her up, putting a new gown on her as she was told to go back to her husband's room.
She frowned and furiously made her way back and stood in the door way, pretty frickin' pissed off.
"How dare you..." She snarled as stood there.

James rolled his shoulders and made his way after her, still sore from earlier.
He easily over took her, his wings being bigger and already warmed up.

Jason had his eyes closed and silent tears running down.
He couldn't believe she was angry at him for something he couldn't control.

Raela glanced at him then returned her eyes forward, pressing her arms against her sides, pushing onward.

June glared at him and made her way to his side.
"You scared me... You... You.. almost left me alone.. Do you know how fucking scared that made me? Hmm? I hate being scared.." She cried.
She rubbed her eyes and looked at him helplessly.

James raced alongside.
Smiling a bit at the wind in his face.

Jason grabbed her wrist and pulled her close gently as he weakly sat up, embracing her tightly.

Raela however remained focused and determined.

June cried into his chest, swearing at him weakly.
"Damn you..."

James flew along and grimaced as the building where he spent the worse years of his life loomed into view.

Jason buried his face into her hair, holding her close and carefully.
"I'm sorry..."

Raela felt her body tensing but closed her eyes for a moment.
When she opened them, it looked like a part of her was locked away.

June kissed his cheek.
"You better be..." She choked out, nuzzling his neck.

James watched her carefully and flew a bit closer.
"You ready?"

"Always," she spoke.
Her wings tucked in and she dove towards the building rapidly.

His arms tightened around her waist.
"I love you so much," he whimpered, feeling tears trickle down.
He was so scared he was going to lose her.

James followed her suit, taking a protective angle so he could shield her if the worst were to happen and they were spotted.
Though that couldn't really happen with the speed they were flying.

June nodded.
"You? I was scared, there I was beating the crap out of thugs, like usual and you come to save me and I am the one who has to wait for you to recover.." She chuckled tenderly.
"I should have been the one to wake to you..."

[Cali]

He shook his head, his body now trembling.
His hold was protective, desperate.
He wouldn't be able to handle that.
If she were in a coma, he'd break.

Raela brought her arms out to shield her face as she crashed through one of the many windows.
She rolled into a somersault and quickly stood.
She looked around.
Three hallways.
One in front.
One to the left.
One to the right.

June stroked his cheek tenderly.
"It doesn't matter now though.. We're here.. now get better soon... I have to go check on Ameila.. Kayla's got her, I might bring her here to see daddy..." She smiled at 'daddy' and kissed Jason's forehead.
Yup.
Much better.

James followed in after her and instantly went to her arms, checking to see if they were okay.
Aside from light bruising she was fine, he let out a breath.
"Where? Left?.. When nothing is going right.. go left..."
