Re: Artist's Retreat
(I've only just joined so...)
Crux: I watched him walk off and heard the door click before I looked at the old picture up on the wall; so, he was the artist? I've always admired this one. I picked up the paints and put them down next to it, "Time to brighten you up," I shook the can and started to trace over the old half-fading marks, trying to stay true to the original as much as I could.

Re: Artist's Retreat
oh right, Jon was with liz! one sec...)
Jac: I lean against the door, scanning the house quietly. I sigh contently Heading to the library to pick up a book to read. I settle on Invisible Monsters, taking it back outside to the patio.
Jon: I nod, "Thats why Jon brought me here." I smile a bit, "He is a good brother." I didn't always give him credit, but he works hard at what he does, and what he loves.

Re: Artist's Retreat
Crux: "Okay, where's the fuchsia?" I started to rummage... There wasn't any. I picked up the order form and looked down, no fuchsia. I sighed and picked up a darker colour, guess making it more me wasn't too bad, right? I sighed and delved in... Aha! I pulled it out. It looked old but it was so the right colour. Smiling at myself, I walked back and shook the can, spraying it on the 'test wall', smiling at the result. I had it.

Re: Artist's Retreat
Liz nodded, thinking of her own big brother. She looked down at the instrument on her lap, smiling. "Do you want to keep playing, or pack up?"

Re: Artist's Retreat
(nooo, not really.)
Jon: I shrug. "I should make sure Jac is okay, but he'd call if he really needs anything." I nod, "Theres a fire pit out back, we could go there?" I say lightly
Jac: I curl in with my book, a quilt thrown over me to protect me from the cooling night. I hum a song under my breath as I read, loving his style. I bring out my phone, checking the time, noticing its about time for dinner. And its friday so its served on the large table in the dining room. I always go, they have the best food then, but I doubt many people will be joining me.

"Sound's good," Liz agreed, smiling a little lopsidedly. She was a big fan of bon fires and the like. Checking her watch, Liz asked, "Do we have to be at dinner at any particular time?"

Re: Artist's Retreat
Crux: I sighed, putting the cans down, "Done," I smiled at the work, it looked as good as new. I quickly rinsed my hands under the tap and patted them dry. Seeing it from far back was amazing; man it was a good piece. I smiled and went back up the stairs, I needed to show the guy, Jac this.

Jon: I look at the time. "Its still like an hour away." I tell her. "And its not manditory." I say standing up. "Lets go get that fire roaring." I say happily, opening the door for her.
Jac: I walk back into the house, going to grab another glass of tea when I bum into Grey. "Oh hey." I say smiling, "How the work going?" I ask happily.

Re: Artist's Retreat
"Okay," she smiled back, and stepped through the door, muttering,"Thanks," Outside, Liz took a deep breath of the fresh air, and blinked in surprise. Her cat was playing near the fire pit. Hadn't she left him in her room? It wasn't until then that Liz remembered she had left her window open.

Re: Artist's Retreat
Crux: "Amazing, but I gotta show you it," I looked at him and smiled, "I swear you'll like it," my smile was huge by now. I pulled out an old cloth that I usually used to wipe my hands with and tied it around his head, "Okay, let's go!" I shouted before he could say no.

Jon: "Aw." I mumble, walking to the cat quickly, Id left quincy at home I picked up the cat carefully, tucking it under my chin. "What a sweet kitty." I said to it quietly.
Jac: I laugh a bit. "Alright?" I can tell he's leading me back to the cellar. "What are you showing me?" I ask carefully, Id just been down here.

Liz laughed happily, reaching out to pet her black and white cat. "His name's Prince Charles, but I usually just refer to him as Prince," She would have never thought that this guy would have a soft spot for cats.

Re: Artist's Retreat
Crux: "You'll see," I sang, helping him down. I left him in the middle of the room, whilst I looked at it again; it looked exactly the same, but with more detail and brighter colours, really bringing it out of the wall. I ran back and pushed him forwards, "Okay, now this is what I've been doing!" I spoke as I ripped off the cloth, leaving him infront of his piece.

Re: Artist's Retreat
Jon: "Prince." I say, sratching his ear. "It fits." I tell her, handing over the cat reluctantly. "I just love cats, they're so independant, yet loving."
Jac: My breath catches in my throat. Its my art, but just as vivid as it had been when I first painted it. "You-" But I cut off, placing my hand and inch away form the wall, following the familiar lines without touching. "You did this?" Its in disbelief but joy, not many artists care about work other than their own.

Liz nodded, "He's a good cat," she put him down, but kept an eye on him. Smiling, she looked up at Jon, "Should we look for firewood?"

Crux: "Yeah, I have to say it's my favourite piece in here. I was gonna do it up a while back but never got around to it, but when I saw you looking at it I knew it was yours so I thought that I was better off bringing this back to life then doing a new one," I shrugged, "But be careful, the paint's still wet."

Re: Artist's Retreat
Aj: I spread out on the rock and close my eyes, letting the sun warm me and dry off my more than soaked pants. I'm glad i wore shorts, but they'd still need time to dry out. When i finally open my eyes and decide to actually do some art, I look around, spotting another girl. Oh, i hope she didn't see my little topple into the water. I don't say anything though.

Re: Artist's Retreat
Jac: "Thank you." I mumble, bringing my hands to my sides. "It was the first peice I did when I got here." I tell him, realizing how long ago it had been. "This really means a lot to me. Thank you." I say, turning away from the painting to him. "Really."
Jon: "There should be some in the shed. Ill get it." I tell her, walking to the shed and grabbing the chopped wood, bringing it over and throwing it into the pit.

Re: Artist's Retreat
Andi: I started to hum the song that came onto my iPod, glad that I had it. I gently splashed the water's surface before I broke into song. People always said that I had a beautiful voice but I never had the chance to sing infront of a crowd as such, mainly because I have no self-confidence. I sighed, and grabbed my sketchpad, quickly jotting down a poem that rose to my head.
Crux: "Just glad that I could help," I tipped my cap and went back up the stairs, leaving him alone with the art, smiling like the Joker; I was really glad I did that, honestly.
