Okay, I think I'll leave it there.

Re: Artist's Retreat
umm...I sent Aj off on her own since that's just the kind of person she is. she's exploring the near by forest and i was gonna have her pop in by the creek for awhile...
Charles is just roaming around aimlessly looking for inspiration for a story. he's kinda quiet...but he thinks a lot!

Re: Artist's Retreat
Hmm Aj's kinda like Andi...
Andi: Sighing, I started to sketch the outline of the creek. It was really quiet here; just how I like it to be honest. Crowds annoy and bully me into submission either way. I pulled out my iPod and put the earphone into my ear, humming the song that was quietly playing in the background, simply helping me keep focus. Music was something that I couldn't live without, along with my sketch pad.

Re: Artist's Retreat
whoa...and they both have an 'A' at the beginning of their name o.O
Aj: I set my red beret on a branch, just so I can find my way back. It's really bright red and if i make it back to it, I'll be able to see the cabin through the trees. I set off again, dodging tree branches and watching my feet. Then i stop when I hear the murmurings of a stream. I push through another layer of underbrush and look over the water. It's pretty shallow, maybe knee deep, and the rocks and pebbles shine golden browns at me. I wonder if there's any fish...Hm.
I carefully place my feet on a few larger rocks protruding from the water to get to one huge one in the middle. I run my fingers over it. It's warm from the sun. I smile a little. There's nothing like this in the city.

Re: Artist's Retreat
Aj: i sigh when i drop something into the water. Probably a pencil. I'll just reach in and--
SPLASH!
I groan. well at least the water isn't too deep and isn't deathly cold. I slowly get up, snatching my pencil floating on top of the water. I pull off my hoodie, spreading it out on the bank before trudging back through the water to the rock. Hey, i saved my sketchpad at least. one thing stayed dry! great.

Re: Artist's Retreat
Jac: I bury my face in my hands, sighing at the yarn and hook on my lap. I wasn't able to concentrate. Setting my work in front of me I get up and head downstairs to the back patio. I stop by the kitchen for a glass of iced tea and sit down quietly, seemingly alone as i grab my sketchbook and work on my latest tattoo, trying to get my mind to concentrate.

Re: Artist's Retreat
Whoa, coincidence(!)
Andi: I watched as a girl splashed about in the water; as long as she didn't get me or my sketchpad wet I had no problem. Returning to my art work, I carefully drew her outline in, it made the picture seem more alive anyway. Shading in the broken tree limbs, I half-smiled; it was quite good. The girl in the water, wading did help... I shut the sketchpad and kicked off my Vans, the water, slightly warm by the sun's gentle touch, but not something that would scold your toes. I released a thankful sigh as they hit the surface before they slowly sank in, sending a mild smile to my face; they do say the simple things in life are best.

Jac: I work on the cogs of the butterfly wings, half open with steam coming from a valve close to its body. Steampunk had always been beautiful to me, this would be going on my ribs. I couldn't wait to feel the needle in my skin. It was almost a therapy, and always ended with beautiful artwork.

Re: Artist's Retreat
Crux: "Tattoo freak much?" I whispered over his shoulder, "But nice design," I patted his back, then started to walk away; I needed to find some spray paint to customise some walls, Crux style, well, apart from here I was just called Grey, for the fact that I didn't want to get caught out.

Jac: I drop my pencil in suprise. "Oh." I say setting down my sketchpad next to my empty glass, back to work. I catch up to him in a few long strides. "Are you new?" I hadn't seen him around, and I like to know everyone.

Crux: "Nah, I just usually spend my time down below in the cellar, the graffiti area, y'know?" I looked at him, my eyebrow raised, "So, how many have you got then?"

Re: Artist's Retreat
Jon: I nod lightly, wondering how i could've missed someone. It takes me a minute to realized he had asked me a question. "That will be my 12th." I say lightly. Most of them are hidden under my clothes, only the knight piece on my forarm and the halfsleeve on my other arm peek from my shirt.

Re: Artist's Retreat
Crux: I nodded, walking along, "I'm an amateur compared to you then," I laughed, "I just got my fourth a few months back," it was the one on my hand that wound around my forearm, like a piece of barbed wire, well, the barbed bit, not the actual wire. I sighed, and twisted my cap to the side, blocking the sun from my eyes through the window. I opened the door that led down to the cellar, "Are you stalking me or something?"

Jac: I look at him a bit stricken. "No! Course not-" I stop, realizing Id never caught him name. I sigh. "Im just here to help if you need it. The names Jac." I stand outside the threshhold of the cellar. I hadn't been down in forever, not since my two month fixation on street art.

Re: Artist's Retreat
Crux: "Well, do you know where the new spray paint is? I've done my outline and need to get on with the details," I sighed, "Grey, by the way," I nodded, walking down the stone steps to get to my little area, "Just here," I pointed to the outline on the wall in pencil, the outline of a random thing that I had in my dream.

Re: Artist's Retreat
Jon: I stare at the outline, my eyes scanning through it to find identifiable objects. "Yeah." I say still looking before turning to him. "We just got a bunch in last week, its all still in storage." I make my way by memory to the almost hidden closet door, past some of my old work. I open it to a bright but bare roomed wall, filled with spray paint and other supplies. "Here we are."

Re: Artist's Retreat
Crux: I smiled at the room, "Thanks, I never would have found it by myself," I picked up a white and silver, "No, time for me to get going!" I flicked them around my hands, and walking over, "Time for this to get going!" I shook the can and sprayed the base of the shape.

Re: Artist's Retreat
Jac: I watch him work for a moment before turning to my own work way on the other side of the room. Something I did when i first got here. I traced it with my hand, seeing how it's not as vivid as it first was. I contemplate retouching it, realizing its been years since I picked up a can of praypaint.

Re: Artist's Retreat
Crux: I sighed and went to the cupboard, grabbing some blues. This was gonna look great in a bit. Snapping the lid off, I pressed down on the nozzle, letting the paint make it's mark across the dull grey concrete walls.

Re: Artist's Retreat
Jc: I walk away from the painting looking at Grey. I wasn't passionate about it anymore, not like it when I was younger. I'd done my share of street art but I was done with it now, Id leave it to him. I walk up the stair silently, leaving the door open. I pull out my phone, deciding to call Tom to set up an appointment, hoping that maybe he could make it down to the cabin soon.

Re: Artist's Retreat
(I've only just joined so...)
Crux: I watched him walk off and heard the door click before I looked at the old picture up on the wall; so, he was the artist? I've always admired this one. I picked up the paints and put them down next to it, "Time to brighten you up," I shook the can and started to trace over the old half-fading marks, trying to stay true to the original as much as I could.
