Lucy: I smiled back then sit on him. "Don't make me use the or else card." I say playfully. I dangled the bottle of soap in my hand.

Connor: My half smile changes to a mock 'oh no' face. "Not the 'or else' card! anything but!" I gasp.

Lucy: "Yes the 'OR ELSE' card. Don't make me use it!" I say mischieviously. I think about what I was going to do.

Connor: I lie back on the cold floor, looking up at the ceiling. The coldness seeps into my skin, sending goosebumps along my arms. But i like it. I close my eyes. This is something I could race for. These little moments with Lucy. My eyes snap open, and then flicker over to her. Lucy. That's who I could race for. I mean, I really cared about her, and no one could take her away. As long as no one found out.
"Hey Luce?" I start quietly, then backtracking and wondering if i should really tell her or not.

Lucy: I looked at him an evil smile on my face and my eyes sparkling with an idea. "Yes..." I trailed off tossing the pine scented soap hand to hand. I knew we had other scented soaps in the doors.

Connor: I bite my lip. Maybe I shouldn't. "Nothing. Never mind," i shake my head, shifting underneath her and sitting up carefully so that she doesn't fall over. "It's getting kinda late, maybe you should head home. I gotta clean up anyway," I shrug, drawing lines in the soap foam on the floor.

Lucy: I frowned. "Gimme a second. Turn around and close your eyes." I instructed trying to keep my voice even and face straight. He won't see what hit him.

Connor: I manage a half smile and stand up, turning around. Oh god, i shouldn't have done that. too late..

Lucy: As fast as I could I grabbed different scented soap bottles and picked out one. New car scented. How ironic. I squeesed the bottle and let some of the soap pool on my hand. I walked up behind him and rubbed it into his pine scented hair. "Now you smell like a new car in a forest." I annouced proud of myself.

Connor: i freeze, feeling the icky goo drip down my back. I shudder. "Oh god that feels disgusting," i mutter, then turn around and flip my hair, suds and shampoo flying everywhere. "Do i look like one of those guys in one of those fancy commercials?" I pose for a second before peeling off my shirt and using it to wipe off my face and back. I could just hose down and I'd be good with out a shower.

Lucy: I giggled and stepped back. I put my fingers together to make a frame. Closing one I looked through. "Yes, yes you do. No get me a latte." I say trying to immatate a rich photagrapher's voice. I felt sticky and my jumper stuck to me uncomfortably. I unzipped the top part and tied the arms around my waist. Even my hot pink tank top was wet and soapy.

Connor: I smirk to myself. "Here, this will help." I pick up the nozzle of the hose and set it to rain. Then i hold it up so that it 'rains' down on us. I rest it somewhere high so that I can stand underneath it. I whistle while I run my hands through my hair, rinsing away the soap. Hey, i did smell like a new car in the forest. It's a good thing there wasn't much over here and that the drain was just a few feet away.

Lucy: I laughed at him and took my hair out of it's messed up pony tail. It was long, like down to my butt long. I would dare cut it because my dad always said he loved it long, I would cut off another part of my life that reminded me of him. I shook it out and started to rinse out the soap. I was soaking wet and almost freezing.

Connor: I shiver at little, shaking my hair out like a dog, then smirking as it sticks out at strange angles. "I think I'll just air dry. It's warmer outside, you wanna go for a walk?" I ask her, raising an eyebrow. "You know you want to..." i start inching towards the door.

Lucy: I roll my eyes and follow him ignoring the annoying dripping feeling. I pulled my sopping hair back into a pony tail and took off the useless jumpsuit. My soaking shorts and tank would have to do.

Connor: I walk with my hands in my pockets, my eyes watching as the sun starts to disappear past the horizon. I guess it wasn't as late as I thought. We walk down the streets and toward the park. I see someone on the swings. It's Jaydyn Peters. Or, JP as most of us call her. Remember that racer that Clarkson forced off the cliff from earlier? Yeah, that was her brother. They were twins, so only one had to race. Jordan stood in for her. I always thought she liked me, but she never said anything and we didn't really hang out or anything, so i didn't really matter. And I had Avery. She looks up. You can tell she's been crying. but her eyes are dry now.
"Hey JP," i smile and wave to her. She just smiles back a little before going back to swinging back and forth lightly. Lucy and I keep walking. I really feel bad for her.

Lucy: I stop. I knew JP well. I motion for Conner to wait and I run over to JP. "Hey Jay." I whisper. I lock her into a hug, a tough day for everyone today.

[lily "the author" hanna]

(i thought we could use someone else :S)

JP: I pat her back awkwardly. "Hey Lucy," i whisper back, glancing over her shoulder as Connor walks up. I almost roll my eyes. That boy is never wearing a shirt. "Nice racing today Connor," I offer half heartedly. He just nods, looking at the ground.
"Your brother did good too."
I shrug one shoulder. "Yeah, he loved to race..." I trail off, stopping the swing and slipping off of it. I look back to Lucy. "So, you guys just walking?" I ask her after a long moment of silence.

Lucy: I step back and sheepishly smile. "Sorry for getting you wet.." I trail off knowing we looked rather strange. Both Conner and I were sopping wet and I was still a bit bubbly not to mention we smelled like pine and new cars. "Just walking.."

JP: I nod, half smiling softly. "Sounds fun," I brace myself with my legs on the swing, thinking about pulling them up so i can swing again. I almost ask to go with, but I decide not to. Neither of them probably want me to come with anyway, don't want my depressing presence. Then i remember. "Oh Connor," I hop off the swing and go over to my purse. Then i dig out the thing Avery had given me. I knew all about her, my dad was an executioner. I wasn't proud of it. And that's basically why no one really liked me at school. They knew that my dad killed innocent people. I pull out the gold necklace. I walk back over to him, not meeting his eyes. But when i do, i can tell he knows what happened to his girl friend. I hold the necklace out to him.
"She...she wanted you to have this. She said you would know what it means." I chew on the inside of my cheek, waiting for him to take it. His expression closes off. then he takes it, slowly.
"Thanks, Jay," he flashes a smile before stuffing it in his pocket and starting to walk off. I stare after him curiously. I wonder what that necklace means...
"Are you coming Lucy?" he calls after a moment, not looking back. I turn to her, waving with a small smile.
"I'll see you guys at school tomorrow." i say. god, i can't believe they still expect school to keep going.

Lucy: I shivered at the thought of school. "See you after school at my place." I call back to her. I walked quickly over to Conner and hold his hand. "I'm sorry." I whisper hold tears back. I've cried enough today.

Connor: I shrug. "Nothing to be sorry for," I put on a small smile for her before continuing to walk. But I can't ignore the feeling of the necklace bumping against my leg with every step. I knew exactly what it meant. She said she'd give it back the day she was forced to stop loving me. I thought we were kidding. Apparently we weren't. I sigh, my hand going limp in Lucy's grip. And I can't help but feel mad at JP. Maybe not her specifically, but that's where my anger was forced to go. Her father. Her father killed Avery. I can't stop thinking that. Both my hands start to clench. Then i apologize to Lucy when i realize i must've been squeezing too hard. "Sorry, i'm just..." i shake my head.

Lucy: "Tired? Angry? I get it, I feel the same way." I finish for him. I gave his hand a reassuring sqeeze and smiled sadly. Turth be told he didn't grip to tight, then again I always beat him at arm wrestling as a kid.

Connor: I smile a little more genuinely, noticing we'd walked toward Lucy's place. "Huh, weird..." i trail off. "Should I just see you tomorrow? I think I might keep walking," i add.
