Kunai chuckled at this. "You seek safety, but you would want to be queen. In the past week, 2 queens have been murdered in the greater Judest region. But you think that's safe?" Judest was a region area where their village fell into. "Having protection is worth nothing if you can't protect yourself. I would think if anyone would know that, it'd be you," Kunai retorted at her. Being a guard he had been taught of every act of treason world-wide. He knew briefly of her mother, but hadn't realized there was a relation.

Davina physically took a step backwards, away from the guards. She wasn't feeling safe right now. Very cornered indeed. Immediately her hand went to a dagger she owned but she didn't yet draw. " I know how to protect myself but I need more protection. everyone hates me but not because of me." that was all she would ever say about her mother, the traitor, the warrior dying for her country. It was true that she was seen as a traitor but Davina knew what she had done was for the good of everyone.
Blinking long and hard she mentally shook the thought of her mother from her mind and blinked again to clear it.
" Protection from hatred. From those who hate me and want to kill me, because there are many of those despite what you may think." she said coldly, her icey tone chilling over the whole room.
' Being queen may not make that happen but at least I could show them' she thought to herself

"That's why you push people away isn't it? You think everyone holds you accountable for her actions," Kunai took note of the intensity this situation had arose near instantly. As well as taking note of her grabbing for something, he grabbed two runes from his pouch. "I can't speak for them, but I don't," Kunai shook his head as he stated this. He felt the inscriptions on the runes to make sure he was only going to make a forcefield if she went after him.

Davina squinted in fear, her head rushing, her heart racing, " What do I need to do for this to get sped up and over with?" she asked her eyes quickly darting around to find the exits and possible ways to leave them unharmed in they did anything to her. Not all the guards were so friendly about the information they now knew. Usually they would attempt to beat her, when she was younger that would happen but now she just let it happen so they wouldn't arrest her.

"Look," He yelled at her. "If you'd calm down, I can explain something to you. But if you're going to start planning your escape route I'll be forced to use force, and I don't want to," he especially didn't want to harm her now that he knew this. He personally had a qualm with the governments, so he sympathized with traitors, though he couldn't exactly say that with his partner right next to him. "Please, Davina," he calmed his voice, then drew his runes with the inscriptions towards her, "They're only protection runes. And it's only if you come after me first. I promise."

Davina jumped at the yelling, her hand sliding off of her weapon and onto the back of her neck, a protective stance.

"I swear on my life, I have no intent of hurting you," he slowly approached the now seemingly afraid girl, only stepping forward with his left foot, and then sliding his right to match it. "Can you trust me for a few minutes, please," He pleaded to her as he was starting to approach arms length. He had lowered his runes but kept them ready to use.

Kunai allowed a deep breath to escape him as these words exited her mouth. He kept the runes in his hands ready to use, it was instinct now, whenever he dealt with someone in fear he had been trained to stay ready to protect himself incase they went off again.
Walking into arms reach now, he held a hand out to her, and made a look as though inquiring her to trust him enough to take it.

Davina, of course, didn't trust him enough to take it. She hated guards, even if these two seemed different than the others, she never trusted anyone, let alone trusted someone enough to touch her with her own consent. Looking at the hand she looked back to Kunai in question. She wasn't going to take his hand.

Kunai lowered his hand, and his head taking a deep breath. As his head returned up his eyes were reopening, "Will you walk with me for a few minutes to calm down," he asked her. He was fully ready for a no, even expected it, but he used this as time to think of a way to get her to get away from his partner so he could say something that would put more ease to her mind.

" Fine." Davina said coldly still. She really didn't want to talk, especially to someone who was a guard, especially to someone who knew who her mother was. she figured this guy couldn't hurt her and if she needed she could easily get out of the situation and escape if she needed to be. This was what she had been preparing for, besides doing the test she was working on now, to escape from harms way.

Kunai went to the door, and walked out as soon as she said fine. He waited on the other side for her.

He shut the door behind them and turned to her, "Look here. You're not the only one with a bad ancestry." He pulled out a small locked from his pocket, "This is Pa," he opened the locket and continued, "Pa was a leading member of the COMM council. That's why they're interested in me, but you see." He paused his face growing angry, "But you see. Pa's dead. He was killed by someone who wanted his position in the council, and since that day I've felt sympathy for people like your mother, people who died standing for something like he did."

Davina didn't say anything, she knew she wasn't the only one with bad ancestry but she was the only one, she thought, who was attacked for it. It wasn't kept under raps very well due to the nature of how huge the betrayal was. She had not only been one of the ones to kill a KING but also one to kill the Queen as well. Wiped out the royal family actually, leaving her daughter to fend for herself at a young age. After she had finished the killing spree she had walked into the castle and let herself be killed by the guards. Or thats what they said happened.

He offered her his hand again, "I'm offering you a friend, and given how quickly you flinch around guards, you seem like you could use one that can protect you from them." His eyes looked into hers, near begging for trust.

Hesitantly Davina took his hand, unsure of what he was going to do with her hand in his now. She didn't need anyone to protect her but a guard to tell them off would be nice, mainly so she wouldn't get arrested.

Kunai reached in his rune pouch and took 3 runes out. They had an inscription on them, but it wasn't the inscription of regular runes. A regular rune had 3 letters and some picture carved above it, these runes had what looked like a family crest. "My father was the minister of rune creation before he was killed. There were some runes that he never released to the public, for the safety of people. Being his son I was entrusted with all his personal records." Kunai explained in a low-voice. "If you ever have problems, or just want to talk to me. Slap this rune in your palm, I'll be here." He partially knew what she had gone through, being abused by guards and all. The only difference between them was he changed his name to avoid this detection anymore, only the COMM council knew his true identity.
