Davina suddenly smiled charmingly, she knew a fake badge when she saw one and earlier she wasn't so much looking at the badges as looking at him and trying to gauge whether he was a thief or not. "Fine, I believe you," she said curtly, " Now hurry up so you will believe me." she said blinking slowly and carefully.

"Come on," Kunai insisted, his voice had a drag to it. Beyond that he insisted on finding some friendly spot in her personality. "We can't just have a talk while I check your information?" Unfortunately there wasn't a public way to verify that her ID was legitimate, he had to escort her to a public building which had small communication devices that he'd send her information to and wait for a reply from his dispatch station. This was a miserable process if you weren't registered with the cityboard, because they were simply checking a number on the badge, against the name and person description, on a long list of papers. So if your info wasn't on this city's board, they'd then have to send a message to the regional board, who would try to find the information.

"It'll be much less miserable." He gave an attempted playful grin.

A rather large sigh escaped Davina before she nodded, " All right, all right, if you insist." Truthfully she was insanely tired but had to keep awake for a while longer, she took a chance and let her guard down, her shoulders relaxed and she stopped standing straight and slumped a bit, her eyes drooping and a yawn escaping her. " What do we do now, I never have been out at night before, for reasons." she said lullfuly.

Kunai looked momentarily into her green eyes with a cheesy smile, innocent at send, but the brune then pointed to the same shoppe he had pointed to earlier, "My nearest contact station is in there. If it starts to take too long, there's an inn right next door if you get overly tired," He stated taking note of her yawn. "I can pay for a night of bunk."
He began a turn towards the shoppe, and took a single step before stopping and waiting for the aubrunette, "Do you want to tell me your contact information? It can speed the search if you're from a different city." He offered turning his head to her.

" I'm from here, but, " she paused searching through a small satchel attached to her belt, " here you are in case it needs to be had anyways." she blinked away another yawn shaking her head to the bunk idea, " I must stay awake for another day, its part of a test at the COMM I'm going through. A very hard one." she said shaking her head as if to chase away bugs of sleep or something.

( I hope thats okay I have no idea what I'm doing, just kinda making up things as I go )

Kindly, he took the item she had taken from the satchel, examining it as they began to walk towards their destination.

Davina blinked tiredly, almost walking into him multiple times. If she passed this test she could get a new rune she needed- er wanted. " So..." she said into the silence, not usually uncomfortable around silence but now she was all of a sudden.

Kunai let out a thankful breath. He hated silence with a passion, but figured he wouldn't break through this girl's wall, and it just remain permanently awkward to continue talk. This breath then turned into a relative chuckle as he he commented, "If you're asking me how pretty you look tonight, the answer's, very." He remained looking forward but tilted his head slightly to the side she was on. "If not I'm open to other questions as well." this time turning and smiling welcomingly at her.

Davina just blinked, she wasn't one to blush at a complement but she did acknowledge it with a small 'thank you" under her breath. " I was going to ask how you ended up with night duty, I know it isn't a favorite amongst guards, or thats what I hear down at COMM."

"It's not." He quickly replied. "Believe it or not we don't particularly like having to walk up to every person we don't know and verify their ID's, but center council forces us to." He told her as they continued towards the shoppe. "I choose the nightguard because I like meeting people, and as annoying as it is, this gives me a chance." He paused before tilting his head with a smile and admitting, "And I still attend school during the day."

Davina almost twitched in acknowledgement of him going to school but quickly reigned in her emotions, " You attend school." she confirmed as if devastatingly not shocked yet shocked at the same time. She wasn't one to be emotional.

Kunai briefly turned to her, then returning his eyes front, "I do." His answer had a solemn tone to it, but he still maintained the same forced smile he'd worn this entire time.

" why the fake enthusiasm?" Davina asked bluntly her eyes looking straight ahead and she barely even blinked.

He breathed quickly out, almost in a snicker, and this time a half smile entered his face. They were now about half way to the shoppe, and he paused his step for a minute, turning to look the aubrunette in the eyes, the half smile still in existence. He looked down and then back at her eyes and warned, "You shouldn't ask questions you don't want or care about the answer." With that he silently turned and continued walking.

By this point, he had given up on the whole friends thing, and was now just trying to make this the least miserable for both of them as he could.


((Do you mind me holding out on bar until tomorrow? It's a tad hard to focus on more then one RP due to some personal things... But I'm not really ready to stop yet either..))

Davina actually smiled this time, " Looks like we have something in common." she murmured

Barely hearing the mumble, but not make out what it was. "What was that kitty-cat.?" He hummed, trying to entertain himself with her reaction.

Raising an eyebrow she answered, " Looks like we have something in common puppy-dog" she said imitating his voice fairly well.

A small chuckle released from him, "And what would that be, bumble-bee?" He continued with a singsong voice.

" Try to guess," she said playing along with this guard who had a silly way of meeting people if he seemed like he really didn't want to at all.

He tried to come up with a remark that would at the least agitate her. "I truly hate guessing games," he admitted, but went on to make a guess anyways, "But going by your personality, my best guess would be that we're both pretty lonely." He was sure this statement was pretty slick, until he thought about it and proceeded to think to himself She honestly doesn't seem like the type to mind being lonely.

" Yes, lonely, but why do you seem like you hate people if you want to meet people?" she asked trying to avoid the subject of her being lonely. She always tried to hide the fact that she was forever and always lonely, or at least thats how she saw how she was going to be forever. Lonely.

He sighed. "It's not that I hate people," a pause dragged out, "people have a tendency to hate me. Because I'm a guard, I'm in the top 10 mages of my year, everything about me says pompous ass. So I just act the part most of the time." He admitted. Why he decided to confide in this random girl, he didn't know. But she asked, even after his warning not to.
