James licked his lips, not sure if he wanted her to or not, the morning flashing through his mind.
I love you...

June got up and smiled. "Be right back, gotta pee."
She scurried to the bathroom and as soon as she past the threshold of the ladies room she felt water rush out from between her legs.
Her eyes went wide.
Shit.
She took a paper towel and wiped herself down quickly and walked, wincing, back to Jason.
It was safe to say that her contractions had started.
"Hey, babe... My water just broke.. I'm in labor.." She stated calmly with a sheepish smile.

Jason paled.
"What?"
He quickly got up and began to lead her out of the parlor and eased her into the car. He for in and began to drive to the hospital, calling Raela's phone.
Raela pulled out her phone and answered. "Hello? Oh, Hey Ja-Wha? Hold on, slow down. Okay. Alright put me on speaker," she ordered.
"Alright, Rae, you're on."
"June? Hey, hun how are you feeling?" she asked softly then looked at James. "Get to the hospital, now."

James raised an eyebrow and rebuckled the boys into their seat, much to their complaints and started the car again, his tummy complaining with the boys.

June patted Jason's shoulder.
"I'm fine really, my contractions are too far apart to be that bad... I mean the baby is a little early, no big deal.. OH GOD AND MERCIFUL DINOSAURS.... JASON YOU BETTER GET ME SOME DRUGS NOW OR SO HELP ME... I WILL RIP YOUR BALLS O-.... sorry about that, another contraction.. as I was saying, Jason is overreacting, he looked really scared.." She chatted, though her outburst was pretty terrifying.

Raela paled and seemed glad she was on the other end of the phone.
"Okay, just breathe hun, okay? It's normal if a baby comes a week or too earlier. Just breathe," she soothed.
Jason grimaced. "Rae, is it normal for my wife to want to kill me?"
Raela's chuckle came from the phone. "If it wasn't for me wanting to life for my boys I would have. June, just remember something. The pain is going to be worth it when you finally get to hold your daughter in your arms."

James was so glad his wife hadn't tried to kill him, he was happy she was his.
Very happy.

"Ow! Shit, I'm dying I think," he grumbled as he pulled up into the hospital parking lot. He released her hand and got out, helping his heavily pregnant wife out also. He rushed her into Emergency. He kept Raela on the line as he followed the doctors to the maternity ward.

June begged for drugs as her contractions hit, the doctors focused on trying to determine how far along she was in labor.
She had so many mood swings that people were starting to get whiplash.
"Babt.. can you get me a lemonade? I really want one..." She murmured in the bed.

Raela had been walking in when she heard this. "Hey hon. Jason stay with her. I'll go get it for you. Okay?" and then she walked out.
Jason sat beside her and took her hand, stroking the back of it. "Just keep breathing. It's going to be okay," he whispered, kidding her forehead gently.

The nurse came in with a smile and check things around.

Jason frowned and held her hand in a firm grip, but not enough to hurt her any more.
He kept his lips pressed to her forehead for a beat longer.
"Oh god.." he heard.
His paranoia and protective wolf kicked in.
"What? What is it, what's wrong?" he asked frantically with a faint growl in his blue eyes that now had just a hint of amber.

The nurse bit her lip and scurried off, "I'll be right back." She murmured.
June looked at Jason with wide terrified eyes, "Baby? What's wrong?" she asked in a quiet voice.
When the doctor came back in his face was rather grim.
"It looks like you have a rare genetic disorder... it usually lays dormant but it pops up once in a while when your body is in extreme stress and change.. Basically, in lame man terms.. Your heart has a possibility of stopping while in birth due to the high levels of pain.. we can bypass that through a Cesarean normally but you're too far along in labor for us to do that now.. We're going to have to take the risk of natural birth but.. but with this early birth we have to be very careful..." The doctor went on but June's mind focused on one thing.
"Will my baby be hurt?" She asked loudly.
"....Perhaps.."
June's heart dropped.

Jason felt empty inside all too suddenly.
"B-But if w-we're careful...Sh-She and the b-baby will be okay?" he asked in a weak whisper, tears filling his blue eyes. The amber retreated and the bright blue deepened to something so deep and dim.
Raela leaned against James, eyes wide and teary, her hands over her nose and mouth to keep herself quiet.
The boys stayed close to their parents, silent as can be.

James wrapped an arm around Raela.
The doctor nodded.
"If all goes well they'll both be fine.. but we will need a lot of space in case of an emergency, so the less amount of people the better, I'm afraid."
June clutched Jason.
"You're not leaving me." She growled, "And my baby nor am I are dying today."

"I'll never leave you," he swore, practically gazing into her soul.
Raela nodded and led the boys out to the waiting room before sitting down on one of the chairs.
She suddenly felt weak and exhausted and helpless.

Jason moved out of the way when he was needed to but other than that, he was by her side through every little test, every little check to see how many centimeters she was dilated, everything.
He was going to be there.
No matter what.
And then...
...it was time.

June screamed as she pushed, squeezing the hell out of Jason's hand.
"Whoever... AAAAAAAAAAAGHHH... Said.. that... AGAAAAAAAHAHAHAAAA.. Childbirth.. Was beautiful AGAAAAHAHH.. CLEARLY NEVER EXPERIENCED IT." she yelled between pushes.
"She's crowning! C'mon June! Another push!" A nurse shouted.
June's eyes fluttered shut for a moment before she pried them open with her mind giving a final push.
And poof!
A baby.

Jason had tears streaking down his face as his hand was wrapped tightly around hers. He kissed her cheeks and her temple and her forehead and her hair, shakily breathing and worriedly smiling.
Please, be okay...Please.., he silently prayed.
He prayed for his wife and his daughter.

The doctors rushed about, getting the baby and taking her to the side then starting to inject fluids into June.
Her breathing was labored but she was doing fine for the situation, so many things were going on it was hard to keep track.
"Jason.. I love you.." She murmured, her eyes fluttering.
"GET ME SOME ADRENALINE- STAT!" a doctor shouted.

At the shot of Adrenaline June's eyes shot open and she gripped onto Jason's hand.
"OH MY GODS!.... I AM NOT GOING ANYWHERE WHEN PEOPLE STAB THAT SHIT INTO ME...."
The doctors rushed about for another few moments, sticking things into her iv and checking on the baby until they all slowed down, a look of relief on their faces.

June looked over to her baby and reached an arm out.
"My.. girl.. I want to see her.." She murmured.
The doctors brought the baby to her, which she snatched up and held close for a few moments before letting Jason see her.
"She is one beautiful little girl... I passed my genes on ever so well I think.." She said, her voice quiet.
She kissed Jason's brow and nuzzled his cheek.

Jason's eyes gazed as he gazed down at their daughter with awe and love.
He very carefully cupped the back of her head, a small smile now gracing his face. Tears continued to stream down.
"She's perfect," he whispered, leaning down to press a very gentle kiss to her forehead.

The nurses pulled Raela and James into the room, soft smiles on their faces.

"Congrats Jason, you got yourself a winner." He murmured.

Jason laughed, tears trickling down slowly.
"She's beautiful, you guys," Raela smiled, a few tears in her eyes.
"Mommy? Is that our cozin?" Declan asked, looking up at her.
Raela knelt down to her boys and smiled. "Yup. That's your cousin," she murmured. They beamed and slapped a high-five to each other, laughing.
Jason smiled at the family of four and then looked to June. "Can I hold her?" he asked softly.

June nodded and carefully gave him their daughter as she leaned back, exhausted.
"I am so sore... I wanna go home..." She whined, a small smile under her guise.

James grinned.
"She's gonna be a looker, you boys watch out, you'll have to protect her like good boys." He said giving them pats on their nodding heads.
