He sighed softly, "Really and truly,I was a huge chicken back then."

"You were far from it, Ichigo Kurosaki," she murmured. "I don't know many sixteen year olds that have saved me as much as you have. You've thrown yourself into danger and not just for me but for all of your friends. You've died...three times..." Her eyes glazed a little with those painful memories.

He reluctantly pulled away, pressing his forehead to hers.

Ichigo laughed softly, "Yeah well, for me, getting my ass kicked was easier than telling the love of my life how I feel." He remarked softly, "I was terrified of rejection and also a total dumbass in love."

She stared up at him, "You better come home in one piece or I'll kick your ass," she whispered against his lips.

This made him smirk as he gazed lovingly into her eyes. "I know. And I would rather have that cause at least it's you," he whispered.

She looked up at him with teary eyes.
"I wish you would have hinted it at least."
She then looked down, tears trailing down her cheeks and dripping off her chin and into the water with a tiny gentle splash.
"Maybe Orihime wouldn't be a burden...Maybe she wouldn't be such a nuisance to Kurosaki-Kun," she whimpered.

She nodded, "Either way, I really don't want to have to kick your ass...."

Orihime," he whipered softly, "You'll never be a burden to me," he promised, "I would give anything for you, and I know I should've let you know, but I was truly utterly terrified of how you'd react."

She looked down, closing her eyes. "I wish I told you," she whimpered. "Because then Kurosaki-kun wouldn't have died because of me!" she cried, covering her face and beginning to sob.

She huffed as a car horn honked, "Apparently, if you take too long, they come and get you..." she mumbled softly.

"Orihime!" he exclaimed, pulling her to his chest, "That wasn't your fault. Even if I'd know you'd loved me, I'd still have risked my life for you without hesitation any day."

She buried her face into his chest, shaking her head.
"Kurosaki-kun always protects me...always gets hurt because of me!"

Renji got into the car with a sad sigh, looking out the window to see her through the window of her house. Seeing the tears in her eyes killed him. He'd rather be pierced by a blade than see her cry.
He hated it.

She sniffled and nodded, resting her head against his wet chest.

He wasn't able to make the first three because of the missions Yamamoto was assigning to him.

(when is Ashina supposed to go into premature labor? like a few months later or is she already pregnant and they know about it?)
