He grunted a little and held her close. "I'm sorry," he whispered guilt running through her veins.

Natsume paced, eyes wide with fear.

Sakura whimpered, fever growing warmer.

Nite shooked her head, "It wasn't your fault. Not even in the least," she said softly, "If anything, it was mine. For fucks sake the guy was right there and I didn't notice..."

Mitsuki closed her eyes, focusing on finding the source of the heat.

Sakura whimpered loudly at the intrusion, tears escaping her.

He shook his head. "I should have...I should have..," he whimpered, the tears welling up.

She shook her head, whimpering loudly. It hurts...He's hurting me...He's hurting me! She then began to scream bloody murder, tears in her eyes.

Sasuke looked at her with a scared child-like look in his tear-filled eyes.

Who's hurting you? Sasori? She asked, holding her hand up to Naruto who wanted to rush to his wife's side, "Don't. That could make it worse..."

"This is not your fault. None of it, okay? It's theirs. Touya and the others," she said, "They did this not you. And look I'm okay, alright?"

He nodded and pulled her close with a small whimper. "I thought I lost you...I...I-I thought..," His voice shook and cracked.

She screamed at the sound of his name, her legs closing tightly as if she was trying to prevent that from happening.

She gasped and finally released, but bleeding. She felt it leak from her mouth, unsure of what was happening.

Nite shook her head, "I am okay, Sasuke," she assured him, "it wasn't your fault. If anything, you're the reason I'm still me."

Inside of Sakura's mind the peacful tendrils of Mitsuki's aura curled around her, Peace, please. You are safe now. She slowly began to manipulate the memory into something better. She made it so that as Sasori neared her, Sakura had somehow unleashed the same fire causing her fever and destroyed the puppet.

Gaara pulled out of her before releasing into the night air then grabbing a towel to clean it up.

Slowly, her body relaxed and her screaming died down.

He sniffled and nodded, hugging her tightly. "We're all going to be okay," he whispered, as if reassuring himself but also her.

Mitsuki silently thanked the gods that rather than her mother's flaming aura she'd gotten her fathers ice one.
(Oh and me and Summer have worked out a plot twist for Nite and Ashura.)
She nodded, "I know we will," she didn't cry, she didn't show her pain, having burried it underneath a wall of bravado and quick witts.

Sasuke sniffled and nuzzled the side of her head. "Let it out," he whispered. He didn't want her to hide like she used to. He knew what happened when she hid.

Nite said nothing, scared of what'd happened. She still felt like she had to be strong. Like she had for so long. It was second nature. Even now she hid. She hid her true form. Who she realy was. From everyone. Sakura, Seto, Sasuke Konoha, all of them. No one knew the truth, but one person. The one she didn't want to think of, "I...can't..." she said softly, "it's like I'm not able to reach it..."

Nite closed her eyes, "I know Sasuke," she said softly, "I just- I don't know where to start..."

Mitsuki had her eyes closed, That's good.... she whispered, Now, I need one more thing from you. I need you to wake up.... she coaxed. Just wake up Sakura.

Naruto stared on, holding his breath as he watched the scene.

However, she didn't awaken.

"Start by trusting me," he whispered, pulling away to look at her. "Nite, please. Find it in your heart to trust me. Who knows when we'll no longer have time together," he whispered.

(I'm sowwie, Kaity! We're coming to check out our new appartment tomorrow. My parents said it'd be fine, so do you wanna come stay the night at my house or something if you can? My mom would come pick you up if you wanted.)

Mitsuki sighed, getting no response from the woman this time, she slowly pulled back into the world, "All we can do now is wait. I've done everything I can."

She looked up at him, "I do trust you, Sasuke!" she exclaimed, sighing, "I've just- been hiding for so long that it's first nature to me...." she said softly, "I don't know what to tell you and definitely not how to tell you," she closed her eyes, "This isn't just about what happened today. This is so far back that you didn't even know me when the hiding began."

He frowned softly, stroking her cheek. "You can tell me," he whispered, sincerity in his eyes. "No judgement."

Natsume was shaking. "I-Is she okay?" he whispered.

She closed her eyes stepped from his arms as she closed, her form blurring then heightening as she showed her real form, "Fine, but you're not going to believe this," she said. As she seemed to move back into focus. Her eyes were very large and round, and she was about eight inches talled and much leaner, large cate ears sitting on top of her head and a long tail flicking precariously. Her entire body seemed to scream grace, "This is the real me..."

Mitsuki nodded, "She is calmed, but when she awakens is all up to her."

She sighed, "There's one more thing," she said, crouching, "When you're using half your concentration to look narmal you're only half concentrationg with everything else," she said, rocketing into the air performing several flips then landing, several kunai planting into the tree just behind Sasuke. "I could've done that back when we were kids, but I was scared. Konoha was not very accepting of people unlike them. They still are. Nobody knows about this and I don't want them to."

Naruto was by her side in an instant.

She sat beside him, holding him and not saying a word.

She stroked his back gently, rubbing slow circles.

Naruto sighed in relief staring down at her.
