She wet her lips, finding her throat to be dry. Her heart continued its relentless pounding of nervousness as Hell Butterflies seemed to gather in her stomach. "I-Ichigo-kun...?" she whispered, blushing even brighter. She had never called him that before, and very rarely called him by his first name.

She gave a response by blinking her eyes for the simple word of yes. The closer he got, the lower her eyelids went. Her breathing hitched a bit, the butterflies nonstop as her heart raced in her chest. Everything seemed to be in slow motion; but it was too agonizingly slow for her.

After a small intake of breath, she found herself relaxing in his arms, her lips very gently moving beneath his. Warmth seemed to course through her and soothe the aches and pains in her body, as if leaving behind nothing to remember of how she got in the clinic. Her hand lifted and, very gently, touched the crook of his neck, her fingertips just barely touching his orange hairline.

She sighed his name softly in between small kisses before gently breaking the kiss. Her face was still an inch away from his as she opened her eyes.

He smiled softly as their breaths mingled in between them. "I-i..." he still found himself at a loss of words as he cought his breath.

She blushed and smiled shyly, gazing up at him through her eyelashes. Her chest lifted and fell gently, in sync with their breathing. She lowered her eyes until they were looking at his lips. She closed the small distance between them, giving his lips another soft and airy kiss. Then, she pulled away, just as quick as she had kissed him.

Hearing Ashina's words made the auburn-haired woman look down sadly. Memories, her saying goodbye to Ichigo before she left to Hueco Mundo, flashed in her mind. Her eyes shut tightly, holding in the tears as best as she could.

"Th-That's not why...," she whispered, rubbing her eyes to make the tears go away. She proved to be unsuccessful but still tried her best. "I...Ashina, you're wrong...I wasn't the one that was oblivious," she sniffled. "Before I was taken to Hueco Mundo...I was given a choice of who to say goodbye to," she began, no longer rubbing her eyes. She just let the tears fall.
