Then, she pulled away slowly and hesitantly.

Cloud's eyes slowly fluttered open and he let out a reath he hadn't realized he was holding as he slowly smiled at Tifa.

Tifa's cheeks lit up in a shy blush from his smile.
He hadn't smiled like that in a while and it made the butterflies flutter in her stomach once again.

"What caused you to do that?" she asked softly. There was nervousness hidden within the words.

Cloud seemed taken aback that she even had to ask.
"What do you think?" he asked softly, "Tifa, I love you."

Her eyes widened as she looked to him.
Tears filled them from the words he spoke, her heart thudding against her ribcage.
"Cloud..."
She then gently cupped his face and kissed him again softly.

She leaned into his embrace, tears beginning to trickle down her cheeks.
He loved her.
Cloud Strife loved her.
Those words echoed in her mind and brought her hope, a reassurance that everything was going to be okay.
She pulled away breathlessly, breathing a little raggedly.
She forgot to breathe when kissing him.

She gasped and hid her look of pain as she hugged him back just as tight. Her face buried into his neck as her smile lingered on her face.

Tifa pulled away after a few moments, pressing her forehead against his lightly as to not cause more pain for herself. The slice was one of the other wounds that had, thankfully, stopped bleeding.
Her breathing was ragged. She forgot how to breathe when he kissed her.
