Another pang of guilt hit Connor.
But he didn't have much time to dwell on it. Because Maggie shot up breathing heavily. She checked he surroundings studying their faces. She gave a sigh she wasn't in jail, there was no prison guard who beat her every time her brother was escorted to the bathroom down the hall.

Matts slow breathing caught in him throat and came out as a raspy cough as him hands moved to him rib cage and he hugged himself him face looking worried, the dream was a nightmare and he wanted to wake up. Nightmares haunted almost all him sleep since they got in prison. They where mostly about what would or has happened to them. One was where they where at the court in their hearing again and everyone but him and his sister turned into snakes, his biggest fear, and he wasn't ashamed of admitting it.

Connor was worried, "You okay."
Maggie wasnt gonna lie about how she felt but if they asked her what she dreamt she wouldn't tell, at least not hear not now. She shook her head, "No."
She pulled her legs agains her chest. This would be one of the few times where they would see Maggie week.

Matt woke up his head jerking up his hands coming up to cover his face as he looked around his surroundings taking a few seconds to study them before lowering his protection. And putting his head in his hands running his fingers through his greasy hair.

Maggie often never said anything to Matt after he had a nightmare. They both knew the feeling.
"How's your shoulder?" she asked Connor, trying to change the subject.

Matt looked up his face more composed than it had been as he waited for Conner to answer. The nightmare still shook him on the inside but he didn't let the others see it on his face to much maybe just a speck of it in his eyes, but not spread on his face like a painted canves.
Blake looked back expectantly he would have asked the question in thirty minutes or so but it didn't matter the question was out and he needed to know.

"It hurts, I'm afraid to move my arm. But it's good other than that." Connor answered.
Adam glanced at the clock on the dash. They had been driving for about three hours. It was about six pm one more hour they would get food then find a motel.

Blake nodded and turned back towards the front of the car deciding what he needed for conners shoulder, he might need to stitch it up a bit but not that much he didn't think the bandages here soaked yet.

Connor got comfortable in the seat, he was to afraid to ask what Matt or Maggie were dreaming, but if his brother was right, which he usually is, he didn't really want to know.

Maggie looked out the windows at the moving scenery. It was nice to see the outside world again.

"We're about to come up to a town with alot of restaurants. Y'all are picking, and you better pick before I pass the restaurant." Adam said. He hated when they decided to late and he had to make a u turn, it was one of his pet peeves.

Blake laughed, " y'all get to pick I ain't I always seem to pick to late." he said smiling to himself proudly as he had relieved his burden of picking a restraunt. It was true and he was trying to give the others in the back a lighter topic to think upon.

Maggie looked at Connor with the look of this is your decision.
"Alright we will eat at Chili's." Connor said it was the first thing that popped out of his mouth, and normally their were Chili's in towns with restaurants. It just always happened like that.

Blake nodded and waited to see the bright red and green chillis sign appear around a corner somewhere as he hoped Adam was looking for one also. He started zoning out slightly relishing the memory of him being able to drive, he was happy. Blake smiled to himself coming back to the preset and seeing the sign, " hey there's one,"

Adam got off the highway. He was happy that this went well. He didn't have to make a u-turn. He pulled into the Chilli's.
Maggie got out. She didn't even remember what Chilli's served, it had been so long.
Connor acted like his arm was broken, or he had did something to his shoulder, besides it being shot, to have it be in the sling. At least that is what he would go with, if asked.

Blake went to the back and pulled out hard tape going to Conner and wrapping it around his arm quickly, " there no one will suspect now," he told his brother as he finished wrapping his arm.

Matt got out already smelling the food that chillies served but not quite remembering anything but the ribs there. He rubbed his hands together and smiled to himself.

Connor smirked, and headed in. Adam got them a table, as they passed the bar he looked on the TV, so far it was sports on the seven o'clock news.
He froze for a second, it was the news, and he was harboring fugitives.
He prayed no one noticed them, or that they were on the news.
Maggie slid up against the wall of the booth and waited for the others to sit down. Connor got a seat across from her.

Matt held a baseball hat in his hand and slipped it onto his head. He thought he might need it as they where going to a public restraunt and all. He remembered the news always being on in the restraunts so a cap would be good to have.

Blake walked with Adam and nodded to his brother when the slightly worried look appeared in his face as he glanced towards the football game being played, the commentary overvoice obviously an anchor man.

Connor leaned forward so to block Maggie's face from the waiter.
Adam looked them, "Bathroom" he mouthed, and he meant if they were caught.
Maggie sunk into the seat, and took one of the chips that had been ordered.

Matt slid into a seat and pulled the baseball cap down so the brim made a dark shadow on his face. he turned his head away as the waiters and waitresses came by pretending to watch the news.

Blake slid into a seat and took a few chips.

"What are the chances it will pop up?" Maggie whispered.
Adam looked at her, "The amount of guards we hurt, soon. Not to mention you to being high steaks prisoners. I swear they put in anyone in highsteaks who seems to be a threat."
"They're more a threat to each other than the world." Connor added, he looked at Matt and Maggie, "No offense."
"None taken." Maggie said, know it was perfectly true.

Matt smiled, " it's true," he said a small laugh escaping him. He turned his head this time really to check the news, it was on soccer now, still sports which was good there was no hurry for it to change to the real news.

Maggie took another chip, and began to sip at the doctor pepper. It was like Adam knew what she wanted. If she was lucky he would get her chicken poppers too.

Matt smiled, the strawberry lemonaid still it's same old delitouse flavour and one of the things he would get here instead of the doctor pepper. He smiled a bit as the sour and sweet drink tingled his taste buds for the first time in what seemed forever.

Trouble came when two cops came in for lunch. Adam's eyes grew wide, "Keep a low low profile."
Connor looked back, "We are screwed especially if that news report isn't in our favor."

Blake looked at them, " it may have come on earlier or the cops may get drunk before it comes on." he said optimistically as he took another chip.

Matt ducked his head and lOoked at the pattern on the table that only chillies had and never failed to interest him. He wiped some condensation from his lemonaid and scratched his neck with his other hand.

Maggie took the extra coaster, and began flipping them off the edge of the table and catching them.
Adam's attention went to the television now. So Connor ordered. Soon enough food was infront of everyone.

Matt ate like this was pure ambrosia and was soon lost in all the tastes of his food. He was content and didn't worry about the news, the cops had their second beers in their hand and seemed to be on their way to being fairly drunk in a few more sips.
