Val told Talen not to eat all the food and pick a room. He did and now he's on his bed and sketching.

kays. hm, what should val do? she doesn't exactly go out of her way to talk with people.
i'll just have her go down to the kitchen...

Val: I set the ship on auto pilot and wandered downstairs. I grabbed a protein bar out of the cupboard and sat on the table. I propped my feet up on the chair and nibbled the corner of the protein bar.
I remembered when I had eaten real food, but that had been on Ariel. The planet I was supposed to call home, but referred to as hell.

Talen: "I taught myself." I said. My dad had given me a gun and bullet, not bothering to tell me a thing, so after a year or so, I got good. Real good.

Val: "Did you fight for browncoats or Alliance?" I had gotten sick of not knowing which one he had supported. I would need to know. I didn't make a hit with either seeing as I had volunteered for the Alliance and then turned browncoat.

Val: "Oh really." I grinned. "So you're a sympathizer. I'm not sure I'm going to like you." I leaned back and put my elbows on the table. My dogtags slipped out of my shirt and dangled between us. All four glinted in the lamplight.

Val: Come around? I don't think so. I hated the Alliance. Pure and simple. I would never come around gorramit.
I felt rage boiling inside of me. I hated them and everything they stood for. They had instigated that slaughter of the innocence they called a war.
I looked at the book on the table. I picked it up and flipped through it. Talen's sketchbook.
