Re: The Ye Old Shoppe o' Curiosities (An OpenBook Production)
Giving Rusty to Oli to let him strap it to the bike rack on the back, I turned to Molly and winked "He knows that we're crazy. You more than me. Come on. I'll let you take the front."
I opened up the passenger door and clambered over the seats; I hated the fact that it only had three doors because it made everything harder and more annoying than it needed to be.
Shunting the seat back into position, I suddenly got a bad case of head rush. I held my temples as I waited for it to pass but it didn't; it just got worse.
"Lilith..." I muttered, "Hell to you."

Molly: I frowned and handed her a chocolate bar from the bottom of my pocket before getting into the car. "Hey, Oli....we have something to tell you..." I said a bit nervous.
Re: The Ye Old Shoppe o' Curiosities (An OpenBook Production)
"Yes Molly?" he replied, getting into the car.
He was sure that Rusty was strapped on alright, but he was going to go as carefully as possible anyway. Looking in his rearview mirror, he looked at his sister with a chocolate bar being waved infront of her face. He knew something might have been up, but he also knew that I never faired well in the back of his car.

Re: The Ye Old Shoppe o' Curiosities (An OpenBook Production)
Molly: I took a deep breath. "We went into a crazy woman's shop and I knocked the magical door making my eyes go funny and now we can see magical creatures, Robin said a spell to heal me but it didn't work it made me sicker than we went back and she went to prision and I was healed then I saved Robin and now I'm freaking out and Robin is probably being cursed by the witch..." I said in one breath. I took another breath then looked at him eyes wide and a bit uncomfortable.
Re: The Ye Old Shoppe o' Curiosities (An OpenBook Production)
Oli raised a brow, "Robin went to prison?"
That seemed to be the only thing that stuck in his head, mainly because it was the only detail that she said at a recognizable pace. I didn't blame him either though I thought that he would also comment on the witch thing.
"Say it again."
"Go to Molly's house; she'll explain on the way," I said, not moving from my hunched-up position on the back seat.
"Okay," he shrugged before pulling out, "Start again and breath this time Molly,"

Re: The Ye Old Shoppe o' Curiosities (An OpenBook Production)
Molly: I took a breath and sighed. "At Robins idea, of which I should've backed out of, we went to a little shop that not only caused me to get crazy eyes but the book that Robin stole from it made me go slightly insane. Then she took me back to get better only to get trapped in a mirror and go to some sort of magical prison thingy, I got better and we escaped and now where here. Not to mention we now can see magical creatures." I said a bit slower.
Re: The Ye Old Shoppe o' Curiosities (An OpenBook Production)
There was a long silence while Oli figured this out.
"And there was a door that when you entered it you went to a new world. There was a hill and I had Molly on the skateboard and there was a lake at the bottom; that's why we were drenched, not because of the rain," I added, "Molly, I'll do the make-overs tomorrow; I think I have a killer migrane."
"Right... And why are you telling me this?" he asked.
I bet he wasn't sure if we were lying or not. Typical. Oli's on the fence.

Molly: "Well, in case anything else happens we need you to cover for us." I said, "and if you still don't believe us..." I whispered the couter spell and looked at him with my eyes on full rainbow.
Re: The Ye Old Shoppe o' Curiosities (An OpenBook Production)
"I believe you, believe it or not; there's just... I dunno, it just makes you believable."
I would have raised a brow, but I was too busy trying not to raise concern.
"Molly, do you want to go and stay home or do you want to come to mine and stay the night then?"

Re: The Ye Old Shoppe o' Curiosities (An OpenBook Production)
Molly; "I don't care which, your place seems safest. I was trying to tell you this morning before you got us into that hell hole shop as an adventure, but my mom is trying to get me into becoming a debutaunt. Like being a lady and crap like that, if I stay home for more than twelve seconds she'll start up and become the talking brochure." I said miserable.
Re: The Ye Old Shoppe o' Curiosities (An OpenBook Production)
"I think it's pronounced débutante," I corrected her, "but that isn't so bad. I wouldn't care if Mom did that to me. Of course it would mean no jeans or whatever but haven't you seen the Princess Diaries? It's looks prett cool," I said, daring to open my eyes, "Take a left then it's down here Oli."
I didn't even need to look outside to know; it was just about time that we were there.
"Okay," Oli said, "But even with that prenounciation, that sucks. And Robbie; you wouldn't last a day."
"Deal set and match! Take me to your mother, Mols!"

Re: The Ye Old Shoppe o' Curiosities (An OpenBook Production)
Molly: "Wait...if we do this...Debutaunt thing, excuse my pronounciation, and I last longer than you can I collect the spoils? Even though I've done these things for her like all the time..." I said growling the last part. There were pictures of me around the house in cute little dresses and such, my mother got a kick out of I guess, I used to do it to make her happy but as soon as I hit ten I had to stop. I did the occasional one but only when it was out of town and no one could know who I was.
Re: The Ye Old Shoppe o' Curiosities (An OpenBook Production)
"I'll do it. I have some dresses about and I have cash from my birthday built up... Anyway, I think Mom would like me to be mannered and to wear nice clothes, eh?"
"Better than those clothes you're wearing now. Rocker wardrobe, m'lady?"
"Accurate Parker. Now, it's just here," I smiled, "You may want to pick up a dress now Molly."
This was going to be a blast actually; I knew that Molly used to do this all the time; I've seen all of the photos of her in those little dresses but my Mom used to put me in them until I complained of cold knees. Then there was Angie who stole them all. Of course I still had some cute summer dresses left over and the one I wore to my aunt's wedding a few years ago when I was in the fashionista stage. Yes, that shall be a point to start with.

Molly; I sighed, "If your going to join me, be dressed nicely, in a dress, at ten tomorrow morning. I'll sleep at my place then cause I have major sorting to do, unless you'd like to sleep with me tonight.. at my house I mean..." I blushed.
Re: The Ye Old Shoppe o' Curiosities (An OpenBook Production)
"I'll meet you there. I'm kinda tired," I nodded, "Anyway, I'm sure you can see yourself home now... And you better turn them off before your mom answers the door, eh?"
With a smile, Oli opened the door for her, "Your residence mi'lady."

Re: The Ye Old Shoppe o' Curiosities (An OpenBook Production)
Molly: "Thank you kind sir, I must be off to battle the fearsome dragon for your easily frightened higness, Cherry Ho!" I sang out with a false british accent. I closed the door and walked up to the door of my house ready to fight the biggest battle, the choice of what we'd eat for dinner.
I opened the door and smiled at my mom who insantly bombarded me with questions.
"Why are you here? Aren't you sleeping at Robin's? Do you need anything?" She said quickly in that motherly way that is both annoying and endearing at the same time.
"No, no, no and I have made my final discision on that debutaunt thing, which is a yes, Robin and I will do it together." I mumbled.
"Oh, honey thats wonderful news! I'll talk to her mother and set everything up, this will be so much fun!" My mom hugged me tightly and wandered off mumbling reminders to herself.
At least I made her happy, fun for me.

"You're actually doing it? I thought that it was a joke..." my brother said as he slipped into the car.
I decided on remaning in the back for the sake of thr short drive. Plus I was comfty.
"You can't believe the this and yet you got the whole 'magical creatures thing'? Typical," I muttered, "Just drive, Jeeves."
Laughing, he pulled out into the road and began driving back to our place.
Meanwhile, at the Parlor household.
"Yes, I know Susie, she does like cats."
My mom was standing at the door, a frown on her face. My darling little sister stood infront of her, semi-covered in cake and ketchup and looking at the woman that she was talking to.
"Well, that's all prim and nice but it isn't how an eleven year old should behave. I suggest that you--"
"You're not saying anything to me! Angie is fine, she's just taking a while to mature! It's perfectly natural. At least I don't have affairs with the milkman whilst they're at school..."
The woman's face redden with both embarrassment and rage. Clasping her daughter's hand, she stormed off of the porch and into a rather nice-looking car. A dough-covered hand that belonged to my mother waved at her. Catching sight, the woman poked her head out of the window.
"All of your children are crazy! You're boy goes out ghost-hunting, your eldest daughter thinks that she's Lara Croft and Angie thinks that she is a cat! They need a father figure!"
Slamming the door, she rapidly drove off, almost knocking the small Volvo that Oli and I were in off of the road. Peering at my mother's smug facd and Angie's one of confusion, she waved at us before heading back into the house.
"Wonder what that was about..." I murmured.
"I don't know, but by the looks of things Mom has had an arguement with another mother about Angie and by the looks of it, she's won."
I nodded in agreement as Oli killed the engine.i

Re: The Ye Old Shoppe o' Curiosities (An OpenBook Production)
Molly: I took a long hot shower and dried off in preperation of dress fittings, my mother's favorite thing. I picked out a cute little pink strapless number and slipped it on, the matching heels already postioned on my feet. I sauntered out with a fake smile of 'omigosh I love this dress!' I patted the poofy skirt down a bit and sighed, it was way too tight in the upper regions but my mother was already chittering away about dress sizes and the like as I day dreamed of school. With this and school, not to mention magic, I was going to go crazy. I had one more day to calm down before I had to be thrust into another world of consume, hold and regergitate.
So much for magic will make your life better.
Why is the minds of fantasy writers so deluded?

Re: The Ye Old Shoppe o' Curiosities (An OpenBook Production)
I always find that I'm best at writing fantasy simply because of the dreams that I have that are so damn random and provide me with lots of ideas And I'm not deluded, I'm just full of ideas.
I came in to the sight of seeing Mom making something in the kitchen, covered in suet for the dumplings. Walking in, I perched myself on the side, watching her.
"How was your day?" she asked whilst rolling up little balls, "Could you get me the milk out, please?"
"Fine," I sighed, getting off the counter, "Just another boring Saturday about town, y'know?"
I pulled the fridge open and peered in before pulling out the bottle in the door. I had to say, for us, that fridge was pretty full.
"Did you do your homework?"
"Yes, well english is that we've got to read a book and then do a report on it. I've read the book but still need to do the report but I can never start things right. I was gonna see what Molly did and then get an idea from her. I'm generally just writing about how terrible Twilight is," I shrugged, plopping the milk onto the counter next to her, "How was work? Getting anywhere?"
"No but it's been taken out of our hands now, some other agnecy has cracked something and now they're only listening to them. It's stupid but it's life."
Just as she said that, she whacked down her rolling pin, making me jump a few feet in the air.
"What did Susie want?"
"Angie. Then she went on to tell me that all of my children her whackos and need a father figure. Is that true? Am I a terrible mother?"
Her eyes said it all; hurt and hate for herself. I could have shed a tear there and then. Shaking my head, I bit my lip, trying to think of words to say.
"No, you're our mother and perfect for us! So what if Angie likes cats, I change every other month and Oli is a ghost-hunter. We're just growing up."
She nodded, agreeing with me. Good.
"Now, I have to tell you something. Molly's mother has dragged her into the 'débutante thing' again and I said that I would go along with her for encouragement which also means that I need all my dresses and skirts back."
"They're in my cupboa-- Wait, what? Robin! You're doing what? That's going to cost us a fortune!"
"No, I have a way through it, trust me. Anyway, I'm going around to hers at 10 tomorrow so I'll be starting my book report before and finishing it later, okay? Thanks, love you."
I kissed her on the cheek before exiting the kitchen to run up the stairs. I could just about hear the mutterings of my mother saying that Parlor's where crazy.

Molly: I sighed and tried on the tenth dress, a lighter more summery dress, still too tight and not my style. It looked good on though, I thought with grom satisfaction. I shook my head and nodded it appropriete to each questioned asked and not uttering more that a three word sentence to my mother, first because I could barely breathe in any of the dresses and second I wasn't up for any more words than that.

Re: The Ye Old Shoppe o' Curiosities (An OpenBook Production)
The next morning I woke up with a jolt; Dilly decided on sleeping on my head. Again. Grumbling, I opened my eyes and swept the ginger tail out of my eyes.
"Love you too Dils, now, I need to have a shower so will you get off of me?... No? Okay then."
Taking him off of my head, I planted him on the side of me before slipping out; I still had load of time to have a shower and get myself sorted befoe heading over to Molly's.
Padding along in my PJs, I went into the bathroom, avoided all of te cake splatters and had a hot shower whilst trying not to wake up Oli with my out of tune singing.
Towel wrapped about my head, I walked into my room and smiled; Dilly brought me a dress!... Wait, no there was a cuppa and a note. I blame Mom.
"You're crazy, but here you go. Thank Ma."
Looking down to the dress, I realised that it was one that I only wore once or twice to a party. Yes, it was slightly more summery but it was nice. Floral.
"You leaving?" my Mom asked as I came down the stairs, "Don't you look nice!"
Okay, so what if it was completely different to how I was dressed yesterday? Yes, I was wearing ballet pumps instead of Vans and yes I was wearing a slignt dusting of make-up and my hair was curled at the edges in a slight up-do the-best-that-I-can-do thing.
"Anyway, must dash," I smiled, grabbing my purse and an apple, "I'll call you when I think I'm going to come home and I can always make up an excuse, eh?"
"Just don't take it too seriously, I don't want to be living with the Queen."
Kissing her on the cheek, I closed the door behind me nd made my way overo Molly's house via the bus.

Molly: I sighed and slipped on my cutest dress, the strapless pink number, and a little sweater to keep my shoulders warm. I got my makeup done expertly from years of expierience and put in my heels, it took me thirty minutes at most. I smiled, speed changing was quite useful at times.
I sauntered down the stairs pulling the bodice up for the millionth time and tried not to blush as my mother complimented me.
I hated it when people made me blush, in some strange way I liked it too.
I tapped my two inch heel against the wood floor and waited for Robin.
"Ma, you'rs driving us right?" I asked making sure.
"Yes honey, I wouldn't miss you two becoming ladies even if this whole debutaunt thing takes a full month." she said with a smile.
Crap, a month? Oh well, at least Robin was going to suffer with me.

Re: The Ye Old Shoppe o' Curiosities (An OpenBook Production)
Sighing, I looked at the door before plucking up the courage to knock on the door. I was scared, yes; her mother scared me quite a lot with all her ways. My mom seemed to be more casual then her.
"Robbie, remember to smile and to cover your mouth when you sneeze. Also manners... This going to be fun."
Tapping on the door, I looked behind me to see if anyone was about but I seemed to be alone. The again this was a rather big property it seemed. It was grand though and definatly bigger than my place. I just hoped that I didn't have to wear heels; I have a ingrown toenail thing that made them weird. Sure, it's better but I still try not to look at them. For all I know they could be better, but I didn't know. Adjusting the hem of my dress, I smiled as the door opened. Finally.
"Robbie, remember to smile and to cover your mouth when you sneeze. Also manners... This going to be fun."

I pulled her arm into the kitchen and sat down at the table eyeing the waffles my mother was making in an animalistic lust. I was starving. "You look really good, Crusoe." I said going back to one her many nicknames. I got it from the book by Robinson Crusoe or some dude with a name like that, she always didn't get my path of making nicknames but it was what I did.
