The Ye Old Shoppe o' Curiosities (An OpenBook Production)
As you can guess from the title of amazingness, this is a onexone between Bookie and I
In the middle of the skyscapered city of New York, streets are lined with the same old big brands and coffee shops; the same old copy-cat competition to grab the mindless people's minds. With the heavy steel and glass lined skies, down belong in a long narrow alley lives a shop. A shop just as curious as it's location.
Crimson brick walls and an old flapped sign, the name of the place written in a neat scrawl, it looked like it was plucked out of Medieval times, like it was lost in time. In fact, this looked like it was just dumped there... Maybe it was. The owner of this place? An old woman, crooked in face and wobbled in body; she runs the shop, the curious-filled shelves all different shapes and sizes. There's a single door at the back, large and wooden, though dusted over from lack of use. A huge dragon-shaped knocker hangs loosely, waiting to be used once again.
What is this place? The Ye Old Shoppe o' Curiosities. Welcome and take a look around, just don't touch me knockers.

Re: The Ye Old Shoppe o' Curiosities (An OpenBook Production)
I threw back my head and laughed, she wanted me to go on a random bus with her and just see where it took us. I didn't know why we couldn't just hang at the little cafe that we always did but as usual once saying my question she came up with a ridicoulose answer. This time it was about how we go there practically everyday it was starting to get boring and she wanted to go on an adventure. An adventure. Wasn't ther memory of three weeks, yes three, of detention not a good reminder of how our last adventure went. First it was only supposed to be two weeks, a still large and depressing period of time, but no. Robin thought it would be fun to try and escape through the ventilation system and skip the detention. After getting caught half way in the ventilation system they added another week, not to mention I got stuck in the stupid vent and they had to call the janitor to get me out. All of our adventures usually ended with some sort of punishment, even if we did get out free karma came at us teeth bared. I couldn't believe I'd let her drag me on another wild adventure but I did. So we got on and waited till the third stop before getting off. Nothing but a bunch of buildings and a little alley way.
My mind started turning and I knew I was screwed.
"Isn't just a bit curious to have a little alley way all alone in midst of all these buildings?" I mused.

(I'm sorry but this is kinda a onexone between me an' Open... Sorry)
Re: The Ye Old Shoppe o' Curiosities (An OpenBook Production)
Sorry Gifted, but what Book said: this is a one x one between the two of us
Of course.
"Yep, that's why we're here. I mean, come on Molls; you gotta live a little! You used to be so fun when we were little and now you're a drag!" I pulled out a lolly pop from my pocket, taking off the wrapper with ease before stuffing it in my mouth, "but I guess that you'll just ask me to go home again or that stuffy little cafe that you adore so that we can spend a fortune on puny little cups of coffee. I like to roam around, and I don't want to go alone because I honestly get worried Molls."
I am so glad that I did drama; it helps in persuasion. Anyway, I had Molly wrapped around my little finger most of the time. Okay, sure, I dragged her into detentions sometimes and so what if I tried to escape? I had a skate park with my name on it. Anyway, three weeks wasn't all that bad, but the look on her face when the janitor yanked her out was priceless. Shame about me almost getting away, but all the kids in the room to start dobbed on me so when I landed neatly in the girl's toilets I was already surrounded.
"So, this is what's gonna happen: we're walking down here and we're going to see what happens. If you want to go back, we can. It's just that Vel is so chicken to come down here with me so you're my back-up, 'kay?" I smirked at her behind my fringe.
Yes, Vel my lovely little sister that I swear is my opposite; the only thing that we're similar on is our hair colour, that maroon colour that most people only achieve via hair dye. It's a good colour, unique. Anyhoo, I could make a list on differences longer than Santa's list but only put the good things on the back of a stamp.
"So, please Molly Black," I fluttered my lids at her, "Please do me the honour of being my BFF and aiding me in the fight against boredom."
Of course.

Re: The Ye Old Shoppe o' Curiosities (An OpenBook Production)
Molly: I rolled my eyes at her, her stupid little 'I am persuasive act'. She thought it worked, but it didn't, well most of the times it didn't. I sighed and just to make her happy I pretended to fall for it, I truly did want to go on an adventure but somewhere really far away from airducts. "Fine Robby but if you ask me to crawl into an airduct I'm out of it. You only fit through cause your too skinny..." I said sternly. Truthfully Robin was almost the perfect weight and I was a bit more...curvy, anywho I always had a habit of calling her skinny.
Re: The Ye Old Shoppe o' Curiosities (An OpenBook Production)
Yes!
"Good," I smirked, shifting the lolly pop onto the otherside of my mouth, "If you get yourself lost then just come out to the front, next to the busstop or give me a jingle."
With that, I grabbed at her wrist and yanked her along the small alleyway.
The buildings that surrounded us were mostly the back-end of other properties though some did have doors, some smashed and rotten, some in better shape but none were modern. That was one thing this place didn't have: time. It was like this place was forgotten through time, even some of the buildings further down had that rustic look to it, not that it was a bad thing, just...odd.
"This alley's long, eh Molly?" a small smirk grew on my lips as I looked back on her, "What's the matter now?"
She had that look on her face. Again. It was like a cross between worry and curiousity but with a tad of 'WTF?!'ness. It suited her, but that's just because I've grown so used to it, ever since we were tiny and I tried to dig my way to China: it turns out you can't if you're sitting in a wooden sandbox with a solid floor. I did make the teachers stir-crazy with that and I didn't know why. Sure, I did it every break, nap, before and after session and tipped sand all over the place but it was my thing back then...and at least I didn't eat crayons like some children...

Re: The Ye Old Shoppe o' Curiosities (An OpenBook Production)
Molly: I raised my eyebrows but let a small grin creep on my face, the alley way was slowly getting narrower but also further back in time. It was like walking past museum displays each getting older and older until you reached the main display. I walked a bit quicker in anticipation for that display.
" It's getting narrower, and older.." I said speaking my thoughts finally after a few moments. I grasped her hand tighter a bit worried that we were going to a crack house or some type of gang hideout, it hasn't happened yet but there's a first time for everything.

Re: The Ye Old Shoppe o' Curiosities (An OpenBook Production)
"Molly, relax," my eyes roll as I push her infront of me so that we were single-file, "I got your back."
It wasn't because of that, it because it was just getting so damn narrow. This place was peculiar for sure; it was like a time-line and soon enough we'd be spying Barney.
"Anyway, if this is bad then I'll take you back to the cafe and then we can eat cookies, okay? My tre... It looks like Professor Layton or something."
It was quite nice when we got to a small clearing, a little fountain spurting in the middle, nothing fancy but it did seem to somehow fit in.

Re: The Ye Old Shoppe o' Curiosities (An OpenBook Production)
Molly: I stopped quickly, so fast that she slammed into my back and I fell forward getting a mouthful of sand. I sat up quickly and began spitting out the sand only to had more come in when I tried to my tongue off with my hands. I coughed for a few moments before standing. "You're not only buying my cookie but you are buying me a frappicino." I said glowering at her. Upon turning I saw a little store, striped cloth hanging like drapery over the windows matched the deep red brick of the actual building. The faded sign squeaked as it moved back and forth from a breeze.
"Ye..Olde shoppe. o' curiosities?" I questioned. I spit out a bit more sand and looked at Robin.

I swear I've done a post on this like 5 times...
"Perfect, jus' what we need to rock this par'y, eh?" I smiled, "And we'll see, but with this curious little place I doubt that we need to m'dear. Come on, it's rather enticing..."
I stepped forward, crossing the sand and up to the front door. The curtains looking rather nifty in the window. Somehow it appealed to me, drew me in.
"Molly, let's go... And did anyone tell you that you shouldn't eat sand: it has no protein."

Re: The Ye Old Shoppe o' Curiosities (An OpenBook Production)
well it hasn't shown up....
Molly: I sent her a look and a few obscene gestures from several different countries all adding up to the same thing. Sometimes it was good to have friends from around the world. I couldn't deny the certain attraction the little store had for me, it felt like something I would want to see, something I had to see. I sighed and walked forward brushing Robin to the side with a look and pulled open the squeaky door. "Haunted I bet....If I get possessed by a ghost, you're the first one I'm coming after." I mumbled with a nervous smile.

"...You know I'm scared of Casper."
Silence. Awkward.
I gave her the raised brow and held open the door so that she could stop her ridiculous act. She acted like a moron at time, I swear. Also with them damn gestures, I had the mind to give her one sign: the finger.
The shop inside was rather dark at first but I just guessed it was because of the whole light-to-dark thing with the eyes.
"Come on Indiana, let's find get out of the corridor before the boulder comes and swishes what little brains you have left onto the dusty path, eh?"
I practically shoved her out of the way to walk in the shop. Finally, my vision was fine. Whoa, that was unexpected.

Re: The Ye Old Shoppe o' Curiosities (An OpenBook Production)
Molly: I raised an eyebrow and began looking around the store. "Eye of dragon, newt tail, hillarious hiccups? What is this cr-....ooooooo.." I trailed off looking at a very very fancy door. It's grand knocker had intricate carvings into a goldish substance, the carvings dipicted a travel and other interesting circumstances as the figures traveled around the knocker. "Robin....." I called slowly.
Re: The Ye Old Shoppe o' Curiosities (An OpenBook Production)
"Yes...?"
I started walked over, some jars in my hand with multi-coloured labels. I knew my face was to be fill of dust and glee at the same time with a smirk stuck on there. She walked over, looking at the knocker.
"I dare you to knock," she punted her arm, "Go-ongo-ongo-ongo-ongo-ongo-ongo-ongo-ongo-ongo-ongo-on!"

Re: The Ye Old Shoppe o' Curiosities (An OpenBook Production)
Molly: "We'll do it together? K?" I said a bit nervously. This was certainly a bad idea, but at least it was mostly my bad idea. I prefer to think that I'd rather go out a wolf than a lamb, wolves have so much more fun. I poked one of the jars in Robins hand to see what lurked in the murky water inside. I jumped back a bit as a few bubbles were shot at the side, with a few nervous glances at the jar and at Robin I waited for my answer.
Re: The Ye Old Shoppe o' Curiosities (An OpenBook Production)
"You are a wuss, anyway, this is only frog's spawn!"
I put the jars down and tucked a section of my hair behind my ear. Raising a brow at my friend, I put my hand up to touch the knocker.
"Come on dear, before the ghosts attack!" I laughed but then stopped, remembering that I hated those things.
I shivered slightly as I put my hand back down; there seemed to be someone watching us, and with the thought of all those things, I decided that Casper wasn't all that friendly-a ghost.

Re: The Ye Old Shoppe o' Curiosities (An OpenBook Production)
Molly: I sighed and put my hand over hers and together we raised the knocker and dropped it. The sound was mezmerising it seemed to vibrated the whole shop and into my bones, I looked at Robin to see her face just a bit confused. I felt my eyes glaze over invoulentarily and the lights started to flash, I couldn't moved though, I was frozen to the spot. "Don't touch me knockers!" I high cackily voices screeched.
Re: The Ye Old Shoppe o' Curiosities (An OpenBook Production)
The knocker almost seemed to chime, like something that I had never heard before. What was happening? This was just... peculiar. Then the voice just ruined it. Looking over my shoulder, I raised a brow to where the noise came from, something that I was reasonably sure came from an over-head sound-system rather than an ancient woman.
"Yeah, sorry but she thought that this place was empty so she went in. May we see your face then?!" I called.

Molly: I looked at Robin with an urgency, I couldn't move. I almost started to cry from fear, I looked at Robin praying she could tell something was wrong by my expression. I couldn't blink, the terrible dryness invaded my eyes as everything seem to change color in my vision.

"Mols, are you okay?" I put my hand on her shoulder, a concerned look on my face, "Damn you look weird. Come on, it's obvious that a crappy little shop like this has beaten you already."
I raised a brow as she didn't jolt for the door; what was wrong with her?! She was screeching at me earlier and now...oh...
"Can you move? Are you actually so scared that you've frozen?" I bit my lip to prevent me from chortling her out of here, "Man, you are a wuss."
