Re: The Ye Old Shoppe o' Curiosities (An OpenBook Production)
The next day- we can assume that Johnny put Robin to bed and then he left after she fell asleep and Molly and Fergie snuck back to Fergie's place and she left the next morning while he was asleep.
She left a note though..
Good?

Re: The Ye Old Shoppe o' Curiosities (An OpenBook Production)
Yep, sorted.
Olly: "Okay, don't panic, its only lunch with Lila's mother and a couple of posh snobs who are too far up themselves..."
I did feel out of place though, driving along in my Volvo, the one which I cleaned literally the whole of the day before, inside and out. Everyone else was probably going to turn up in the back of a chauffeur-driven limo or something... N'ah well, it wasn't a bad car.
But as I drove closer to the gates, my heart was fluttering like mad, hoping that today would go well, if not that would pretty much screw up my chances...
And yes, I decided last night, something within me had feelings for her.
Ever so slightly.
I pulled into her drive, resisting the urge to drop my jaw at it. She literally lived in a mansion. And she had been to our three-bedroom house with an uneven roof? Damn I felt rubbish.
"But you're not here for that. Just enjoy it and try not to make yourself look like a prat. Don't do anything that you'll regret and smile."
Outside, I slowed to a halt, getting out of my shiny black car with a grin, gripping the flowers that I had picked up. The valet walked up, all prim and proper, asking for the keys which I gave to him. And then, I walked up to the door and gave it a knock.
I had listened to the messenger's advise, donning a red waistcoat under the black suit. Angie managed to pick it out from somewhere and said that it looked good. Now I just had to hope that it was enough.
Fergie: I knew that she had to leave last night, but she didn't have to do whilst I was asleep did she?
Laying in the middle of the bed, I let out a sigh, watching the top of the four poster bed, wondering what she was doing. We didn't even properly say goodbye, she just left, leaving nothing but a message which I just couldn't open in place of her on her pillow... It smelt like her, the case, I already sniffed it.
"And I'm missing her too badly already..."

Re: The Ye Old Shoppe o' Curiosities (An OpenBook Production)
Lila: I took a few breaths once the dress was zipped up and decided that I'd be okay. I was dressed respectively and my makeup was light as well.
I slipped on the high heels that matched my dress and made my way down the stairs to the tea room, I evaluated the room and sighed, none of the men have entered it yet.
My mother sat at the head of table, done up all nice, and she checked her watch.
I joined her, sitting at her right, and waited.
Maybe Olly wouldn't show.
Maybe he would.
I couldn't help but worry for him.
Molly:
I wiped a few tears from my eyes and made my way down the damn alley. I had to hold onto the happy memories.
The fun memories.
I cried not only because I had to leave Fergie but because I couldn't even see Robin.
I missed her so much it hurt but it seemed like we were connected somehow.

Olly: Opening the door, a butler stood, high and mighty, peering down his crooked nose at me, his mouth as straight as 180 degrees.
"Afternoon, Sir. A suitor of Miss Lila, I do assume."
"Umm..." I stumbled, a little bit taken a back by the formality, "Yes, I am. Olly Parlor."
"Hmm," he murmured, giving him the quick up-down, "Do come in, Sir. Allow me to show you the way to the dining hall."
With a nod of thanks, I followed, down the extremely regal hallway. Lined with gold and fine furnishings, I honestly felt incredibly poor all of a sudden. I had never been in a place so formal, and it was weird to think that the girl who I had met came from here, what with her tiny skirt and high boots.
And then we turned the corner.
I had to hold back a grin, and I had to say, I did it pretty damn well.
"Presenting, Master Parlor."

Lila:
I stood with my mother and kept my face blank though a flood of emotions swarmed inside me.
He was here.
I gave a polite curtsy and sat back down, noticing my mother nod at his with subtle approval.
"Ah, Mister Parlor, good afternoon."
Lila had to admit, he looked mighty handsome.

Olly: Giving polite nods to both of them, I strolled over, holding the flowers to my back. With my trademark grin, one of which I was told could be very appealing to the ladies indeed, I drew out a bunch of deep red roses, a similar colour to the waistcoat of which I was wearing.
"For you, Madame Lakefield," I grinned, bowing my head as I presented them to her.
Then I turned to Lila, giving her a small "s'up?" nod, though one that was hidden by one that looked quite polite.
"Miss Lakefield, a Lilium, you're favourite flower."
And that was why I was loving the mind-reading; you got to know a lot about a person without having to ask for anything, like the surname.

(WHOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA A TWIIIIISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSTTTTTTT!!! HEEEE CAAANNN REAAD MIIIIIIIIIINDDDDDDDDDDDDS???!!!!)
Lila:
I replied to his nod with a similar one but as his greeting progressed I couldn't help but become more and more surprised. First he knew my mother's name, other than just 'Queen' or 'Your Majesty' and he knew her favorite flower.
It was like some sort of magic.
My mother on the other hand was smiling and batting her eyelashes as if he was her suitor.
"Oh thank you, mister Parlour, someone did his homework now didn't he?" She fluttered ever so huffily.
I held back a gag.
It was one thing for her to evaluate my suitors but to flirt with them?

[Yeah, I've been trying to subtly hint it for a while now ]
Olly: So far, so good.
"Those? Just a lucky guess, but for Lila, the lily was something that we discussed during our small meeting together."
Okay, I kind of rummaged through her mind on that but the whole rose thing with her mother really was a punt in the dark. I was just extremely lucky that that paid off.
I returned to her with the same smile, making sure that it wasn't overly nor underly done. It was unbelievable how hard this really was.
"Presenting, Master Chissock."
My eyes turned to see the new guy being announced into the room, breaking up our little chat. With golden blonde locks and baby blue eyes, he looked really quite the opposite to me: pretty, prissy and really rather snooty. I had to stifle a laugh.

(I got it now )
Lila:
As Gregory entered I had to hold back a roll of my eyes, the guy was an egotistic fart face.
Timothy was no better, he hadn't arrived and I hoped he wouldn't, all these two had was good lineage and power. They weren't elves, they were what some people had begun to call 'Pure mixes' it applied to the same standards as pedigree dogs. Two pure breeds mixed to create a stronger and more diverse breed that would then become a pure breed itself.
A stupid theory but my mother thought that they would be good matches, mainly for the alliances and power they provided after marriage.
I stood out of ceremony for him which illicited a cocky nod in return.
I almost got out of my sit to smack the look right off his stupidly handsome face.
"Oh, Mister Parlour, have you met Mister Chissock? I suppose not..." My mother continued on, flirting and chatting with the two men as I sat awkwardly next to her.
This whole luncheon was to impress her, not the bride to be nor to win the bride's favor. This was all to suck up and gain favor so the bride could be given to the most browned nosed...
I hated it just a bit, I didn't mind seeing handsome men in suits, even if 60% of them were complete ass hats.

Hehe
Olly: "No, I haven't, pleased to meet you, Gregory," I grinned shaking his hand.
His face pulled one of mild shock, something which I was finding quite amusing. Hey, maybe I could have had a bit of harmless fun at this shindig whilst I was at it. Just a little bit, I still didn't know exactly what 'pure mix' these people were between...
Lila needed to stop thinking so loudly....especially when she called me handsome.
Out of the corner of my eye, I gave a small glance and a smirk to her in between this new guy's tale of how much money "Father's business made" and her mother's polite chuckles to his story. Sure, I was trying to keep myself listening to the story, but then again...
"...and of course we had to fire him for insolence."
And that was his idea of conversation?
At least her mother was only smiling to be polite.

Lila:
I raised an eyebrow at the glance I got from Olly, as if he knew what I was thinking. I hid my frown at the dull conversation and thought about hearing this everyday, that would be my life if I had to marry one of them. Was living unhappy for the rest of my life a small enough con if the pro was keeping a war from happening?
I guess.
When the tea and sandwiches arrived I politely stood , waiting for the conversation to stop.
My mother looked at me, a severe expectation of excellence emanating from her caused my back to straighten and face to become a mask of demure perfection.
"Good afternoon to you all, I'd like to thank you all for coming here and taking time from your busy lives to attend this luncheon. I would like to announce that the tea has arrived, please do enjoy." With that I floated to my seat and returned to my brain.
It wasn't as if this was for me.
My mother tittered along, telling a few terrible jokes and expecting laughter, she was simply sparkling in the attention.
I watched the sandwiches be passed about by the servants, I politely declined knowing that if I couldn't breathe in this dress there would be no way I could eat in it.
It was a pity.
I was really hungry too, I'd give anything just to have a burger.
Back to the important thoughts.
How had Olly known so much about each suitor and my mother, most of the information would require at least two days of nonstop searching and it certainly wasn't in any of the books I sent him.
How was he doing it?
I thought as loud as I could, '[i]Olly! If you can read minds say something about flowers! Also, I'm going to punch you if it's true!'.
I just hoped I wasn't making a fool of myself by reaching a conclusion.

Re: The Ye Old Shoppe o' Curiosities (An OpenBook Production)
Olly: Laughing along to the terrible jokes which I had heard about two years previously, I began to sip on my tea. I always rose my pinkie when I drank tea; it was a terrible habit and one that, due to being half British and so a hearty tea-drinker, was something that I often had pointed out a lot. Fortunately, I wasn't going to be ridiculed.
But then, I heard her.
Had she caught me out?
Guess I wasn't subtle.
But with a mental shake of my head, I knew that I had to be honest...and so mention something about flowers...
She could have just asked me to cough.
"...but we kept him in the shelter, the poor little thing, and, what do you know, he's our prized stallion!" her mother laughed, a royal chuckle.
"How charming!"
"What a brilliant tale."
The two posh twits chorused, trying to gain affection from the Queen, giggling on about her rather boring tale. I didn't envy Lila when it came to her parents; sure, my dad wasn't around and my mum was more than ditzy but at least she wasn't a Queen.
"It's as my mother always said: "a lawn of grass is just a flowerbed in waiting". Anyone can amount to anything given the right amount of time and care."
With that, I reached over for another overly bland cucumber sandwich, knowing that if I didn't have anything to eat then my stomach would start rumbling, and I can tell you, that wouldn't have been good. But meanwhile, I shot a small look at Lila, one to see how she was reacting.
Mentally I was preparing myself to have a shin kicked.

Wait.

I shook my head and focused on finding a way to get out of the luncheon early. I stood, swaying ever so slightly, and excused myself from the table for the purpose of going to the powder room. As I made it halfway I let myself fall to the ground in a convincing faint.

(hey bookie can you go to sticking together please ;D and HAPPY BIRTHDAAYYYYYYYYY *glomp*)
Re: The Ye Old Shoppe o' Curiosities (An OpenBook Production)
Oh! Happy Birthday! I'm probably late...
Olly: Why did she have to think so loudly? It was almost as if she wanted me to read her thoughts...or maybe it was because of the fact that, out of everyone in this room at least, we were the closest?... I'd have to investigate that.
"Miss Lakefield? Are yo-- Oh dear!"
In the corner of my eye, the flustered butler hurried towards the direction which Lila had headed for, doing a sort of comedic quick march whilst trying to look prim and proper. The rest of the people at the table, however, didn't seem to notice his exclamation.
And I was the only one who knew that she was faking.
"If you'd excuse me," I managed to say in the middle of a gap, "I need to attend the bathroom."
With a nod to both Gregory and Timothy, then a bit of a bow to Mrs Lakefield, I stood and walked calmly out of the room.
Well, until I was out of sight.
Then I pegged it to Lila.
Hey, it wouldn't be fair to have all of the limelight, right?

Np ^^ it's cool- my grandma was late too
Lila:
I opened my eyes when the butler set me on the bench outside the tea room. I quieted my thoughts, now knowing that they weren't only mine to hear. I looked up to see a frantic butler hovering around me and asking questions too fast for me to answer. He was no help at all, I let my lip quiver and gave him waif eyes to attract his attention.
"Could I trouble you for a glass of water?" I asked, adding a bit of a quiver to my voice.
"Y-Yes of course Miss Lakefield!" The man said and hurried off.
When he was gone I sighed, as best as I could seeing as air was finding it hard to reach my lungs.
I stood and brushed my skirt off, a bit stiffly due to the dress. It was a pretty dress but a superfluous and painful one to wear, I would've taken it off or at least loosened it if I could have reached the lacing. It was at the back and tied in intricate knots for show.
Well, it didn't look like they would miss me in the tea room.
