"God? He's a mad man! And why wouldn't you wanna be him?" answers brimmed to his mind, "Explain you weird thing!" she pointed at him, "How long 'til we're there anyway?"

Re: X-Men character chat
Harrison placed the black blade back in it's scabbard.
"Won't Father object to your killing me?" Tarrant said suddenly.
"Of course not," Harrison said, sitting back on his throne, "You killed his high priest. The only reason he hasn't killed you already is because you're the "Jewel of Akra." So long as the Jewel's power stays alive, he won't care one little bit if you yourself survive."
"The priest was corrupted though," Tarrant said softly, "He took most of Akra's offerings for himself."
Harrison shrugged. "Soon, it won't matter. You'll be dead."
"Yes, a god. Haven't you noticed that most gods are madmen? And I wouldn't want to be him for one huge reason: Houdini, my boss and Tarrant's brother, is gonna kill him," Rex said. The bubble thudded against hard ground and popped. The three stood outside of a castle. "Come on, follow me." He began walking towards the castle gesturing for the girls to follow him.

"Right," she said, not moving, "I'd rather have my eyeballs shuttered out... Or see that waffle again...Actually take that back, take that back!" she covered her eyes and shuddered, "Damn you Katie!" she shouted but decided to follow, "You never did answer me anyway."

Re: X-Men character chat
"Just-" Rex began but stopped. A young woman came up and tapped Scarlett on the shoulder. "Excuse me," she said, "Rex is just an errand-boy. It is my job to escort guests to Mr. Houdini."
Rex half-smiled at the woman. "Hey, Erika."
But she ignored him and took Amara's hand, "If you will kindly follow me," she said and led the two girls into the castle. They followed a path of twisting corridors and winding staircases, but eventually ended up at a set of large oaken doors. They opened into a grand throne room.
"If it pleases the great Houdini," Erika said, "Your other guests have arrived." Then excused herself from the room.
"Ah, wonderful," Harrison smiled, "I won't have to wait any longer."

"Mr Houdini? Great name..." she gripped Amara's hand, she needed it herself more than the little girl to be honest. Looking at the guy, her face remained emotionless, "Anyway, care to explain?" she looked at the guy with the same blazing eyes that she always had, "And by the way, I would appreciate it if I got back to the school, I have to get beaten up in ten minutes."

Tarrant looked at the two girls. Of course, it had to be those two. The student who hated his guts and an eight-year-old girl. "You'll have to wait until the ceremony for an explanation, my dear," Harrison smiled, "And, not to worry. You'll be back to your precious school soon." He opened a panel in the arm of his throne and pushed the button that was inside. This teleporter was much faster than Rex's. It took them to Akra's capital city in a fraction of a second.
They were in a large stone amphitheater. There was a raised platform at one end and people were clustered around it. There were two chairs on it, where Scarlett and Amara now sat. A large man came up and handcuffed them to the chairs. "Mr. Houdini's orders," he said simply then left.
Every seat and every person was facing the sacrificial stone. It was put at an angle so blood would flow through grooves in the stone down into a golden chalice. Tarrant lay on the stone and Harrison stood in front of it, facing the crowd.

"People of Akra," Harrison said grandly, "You see before you Tarrant Hightopp. You may also know him as 'the-man-who-killed-the-High-Priest.' Both names are understandable and both are reasons why you hate him." There was a cheer of agreement from the crowd. "Both are also reasons why the Gods have ordered his execution." The crowd cheered enthusiastically. "He shall pay for his crimes against Akra with his very life." Harrison lifted the glinting black dagger. The crowd's cheering thundered through the air, filling the amphitheater.

"What?" she shouted, "Wha-" she sat down in the chair, "Wha- what?" she said over and over again, "You," she looked at the muscle guy, "Tell me what's happening. Now!" she demanded, trying to stand up in the chair but failed miserably; she was stuck. Point blank.

Re: X-Men character chat
While the crowd was cheering, the man looked at Scarlett. "Well, that man, Tarrant Hightopp, killed our God's high priest. He's hated by the whole of Akra. They're all happy that he's finally going to be executed." This man, of course, did not know the whole story. None of the crowd did. They didn't know Tarrant was one of their gods. They didn't know he was the mythical Jewel of Akra.
Harrison read off the list of Tarrant's crimes. Each crime had a punishment that went along with it before the accused was killed. "For stealing from the Great Temple," he read, then deeply cut each of Tarrant's wrists. "For blasphemy against Nirvano," he slit Tarrant's neck just deep enough to draw blood. This reading of the crimes and punishing went on for a moment or so. The largest crime was the last to be read. "For the murder of High Priest Aldrin," he stabbed him in the stomach. A mix of a groan and strangled scream rang through the amphitheater. Silver blood ran out of the various wounds and trickled down the stone, each glistening drop making its way to the golden chalice.
Harrison tore the knife from Tarrant's stomach and raised it high. The black blade shone silver with blood. "For your sins against Akra," Harrison said, then brought the blade down over Tarrant's chest. It stabbed into his weakly beating heart. Tarrant's body tensed, then went limp. His head tilted to the side, silver blood running out his mouth. It was quite clear to everyone in the amphitheater that the sinner was dead. The crowd erupted into cheers.

Re: X-Men character chat
Scarlett shook, her neck giving up, "I was better off getting beaten up by Drake and Jackson," she loked to Amara, "Are you okay?" she asked, tilting her head back so she was staring at the ceiling; she felt faint. All of a sudden, a wave of nausisa(sp) washed over her, making her eyes close tight, "What now?" she knew what was gonna happen.
Her hands clenched as she gained memories of her last gymnastics competition, the one which she should have won. That was just before Mr Xavier arrived and took her out, that was just before she became depressed and started smoking, that was before her attempt of suicide, that was before she met Amara and that was all of this... Her breathing became heavy and slower, like her heart was giving up on her, she whispered the last words her mother had told her:
No winner has not too many medals
A loser has not too defeats
But medals are what show a person's worth to me
And you came last that time...

Amara didn't answer Scarlett. She looked down at the ground, tears streaming down her face. No matter what these people had thought, Mr. Hightopp had seemed like a very nice man to her. She didn't think he had deserved to die.
Harrison signaled for quiet. The crowd fell silent and watched him. "I trust you all know the legend of The Diamond," he said. Almost everyone in the crowd nodded, and Harrison continued. "What many of you may not know is that this legend is true. The body you see before you was once the Jewel of Akra." A wave of murmuring rushed through the crowd. As proof, Harrison raised the golden chalice. "Behold. Could any but the Jewel have blood of silver and diamond?" Another wave of murmuring washed over the crowd. They didn't know what to think. "The key to unimaginable power lies within this chalice, and it is mine." He lifted it to his lips and drank every last drop.

Re: X-Men character chat
The man was as shocked as everyone else. "Well, essentially," he answered, stammering a bit, "There's a legend called The Diamond. The most famous line is: Thus a child of shining silver and glistening diamond shall be borne unto the gods. And he shall be Jewel of Akra. This 'Jewel of Akra' would supposedly posess unmatchable powers. No one ever suspected it was true."
As Harrison swallowed the last drop of silver blood, the body that had once been Tarrant began to crumble. Everyone watched as it turned to dust. Harrison turned back to the crowd, smiling evilly. "Bow before me: the Jewel of Akra!" And the crowd did, they were terrified of what would happen if they didn't.
"Gosh," said a voice behind Scarlett and Amara, "I missed a lot, didn't I?" Amara turned and saw it was Mr. Hightopp! Something was off though. His green eyes didn't sparkle and were actually rather dull looking. His skin was so pale that it was almost translucent. His overall look was strained and tired.

"It's no trouble to get you out," Tarrant said. He touched a finger to each of the pairs of handcuffs and they snapped opened. Then he walked around the chairs and over to Harrison. "Aw, Harry, did you throw a party without me?" Harrison looked at him in shock. He looked from Tarrant to the pile of dust on the stone slab. "But- but you're dead." Tarrant looked at the pile of dust. "Well, that guy looks pretty dead, I'll give you that. But I'm fit as a fiddle." He didn't look "fit as a fiddle," though. He looked as though he were very sick. He walked with a bit of a limp. He looked strained and exhausted.

"Umm... Tarrant, thanks and all but I think you should sit down; you don't look too good," she put her hand out to get him over to the chairs that her and Amara were sitting in previously. She looked at Amara, she had the same unsure look on her face, "What happened anyway?"

Re: X-Men character chat
"But- I- You-" Harrison stammered, flabbergasted. He looked from the pile of dust, to Tarrant, and back again.
"You fell for that?" Tarrant laughed, "Come on, Harry. That guy looked nothing like me."
"That was an i- an ill-" Harrison started to ask.
"One of the finest illusions I ever made," Tarrant said proudly.
"But, why didn't it dissolve into dust right away? It- it bled, it felt pain." Ever since they were little kids, Harrison had always been able to tell the difference between actual reality and reality that Tarrant had messed with. But this one had completely fooled him. "It was so... real."
"Well, I made it to be a substitute teacher for me about fifteen years back," Tarrant explained, "But somehow it became a free-thinking being and thought that it was me. It began stealing powers and life from me. It built an alternate dimension inside the janitor's closet and trapped me there. Then it sorta took over my life."
Harrison seemed to snap out of the shock. He laughed. "So there's more of you dead than alive right now." That statement was true. It was made quite obvious by Tarrant's darker colored clothes and overall haggard appearance. "But, I'm afraid that's not good enough. I need all of you to be dead."
