"I missed his first words," he whispered hoarsely, staring blankly at the ceiling of the bathroom. "And him walking...And drawing and...everything!" he blurted, slamming his fist against the tile of the bathroom wall, not caring that he created a small whole and his hand was bleeding.

Aikou shook her head taking out a camcorder, playing the video for him, "I only captured his first words..."

[i]"Daddyyy!!" the little boy glomped a teddy bear, giggling, then getting up. "Save Daddy!!" He stood shakily and began to walk, right to Aikou, then fell on her lap and giggled, his sword falling out of his hand.
She smiled and turned off the camcorder, then tending to Hitsugaya's wounds, "You're his favorite.." She giggled, kissing his knuckles.

She nodded, kissing his cheeks, "You've been a wonderful daddy... protecting us, keeping us fed and happy... you may have missed a few things...but just know...you're a good daddy and good husband...I've missed most of his things because of work as well..." she wiped his tears soothingly, kissing his forehead.

She felt lightheaded, smiling into the kiss, she let go softly and slowly. "I missed you too...too much.." she whispered back,her eyes brighter than when he came home, her smile widenend as she heard Xander laughing as he played, "Cmon...let's go eat..." She wrapped a towel around him and walked out, going to set the table, Xander waddling over to help, standing on his tiptoes.

Xander squealed, sucking his sippy cup as he looked up at his father. "Mama said yucky milk helps me grow!! Is she telln da truthz?" He playfully stuck his tongue out at his mother who giggled in reply, setting out Hitsugaya's favorite foods.

XXander giggled, nodding and sipping the milk displeased with the taste.

Aikou finished taking her own plate, her stomach growling louder than Pooh Bear's without honey. She looked up, "...haven't eaten all day..." she laughed, as Xander giggled and mimiked the sound .

Hitsugaya smiled faintly and then sat Xander in his high chair before going over to Aikou and kissing her forehead, helping her set the rest of everything down.

They soon after finished dinner, Xander asleep in his highchair as Aikou picked him up and set him in his crib, kissing his forehead and playing Motzart on his radio, then leaving to take a bath, her whole body ached like that of a fourty year old. She shrugged her kimono off and winced as her shoulders moved, stepping in lightly. She was happy.. but the stress of raising Xander half way alone was unbareable to her tiny fragile body.

She closed her eyes, "It isn't your fault..." she relaxed a bit more, leaning into his hand and lightly nuzzling his shoulder. She kissed his chin and smiled sleepily, her face red.

She put on her newly sewn dragon kimono, her hair dropped all the way down to her hips now, she looked to Hitsugaya, "...now that you're home... are you going to come with us to the river tomorrow?.." she asked hopefully.

She skid back almost slipping and wrapped her arms around his neck immeadiatly, kissing back with the utmost gentleness, hiding her urges for now she stroked his cheek and smiled into the kiss, sure she wasn't alone again.
