He groaned softly, cupping her base of her head and slowly leaning forward, turning slightly and laying her down on the couch.

She smiled softly, "He was...quiet, but he never left us doubting he loved us. He was really protective of me and, for someone raising a little girl on their own, he never complained or raised his voice at me. He taught me everything I know."
