Kairi gasped and ducked, growling. "Damn it, Sora! This is war!" she yelled with a playfulness and chased after him.

Goofy hiccuped; "Hiyah, Riku," he waved slightly.

She laughed and ran after him, her eyes sparkling with a mischievous glint.

Goofy nodded and looked at Roxas, "Well, now that we found Riku, does that mean we should head back to Edge? Maybe Donald and Sora found Kairi's heart?"

"They didn't find the Princess' heart," a voice spoke throughout the room.

Roxas summoned his keyblades with a scowl, hearing the voice.

Lacie stared where the voice came from.

SOra grinned broadly, running over sow drifts.

In a small flash of light, Namine appeared, transparent and smiling sadly. "She hasn't recovered her heart yet; however, she is awake."

Kairi finally caught up to him and tackled him into the snow with a playful battle cry.

Namine nodded at Lacie with a small smile. She walked towards her with a solemn expression. "Hold out your hand."

Kairi laughed and giggled into his ear, "Caught you."

In a small burst of light, a charm for a Keyblade appeared in Lacie's hand, the charm looked like Namine's sketch book. She then turned to Roxas and asked for him to do the same.

Kairi gazed up at the sky, the biggest smile on her face as she rolled off of Sora and onto her back.

Sora stared upward, taking her hand.

(Hold on I gotta fix the posts. Something went wrong on the computer. >.<)

In a small burst of white light, a charm appeared in Roxas' hand. This one looked like one of the ice creams he used to have back in Twilight Town; attatched to it was a mini version of Oathkeeper. Finally, she turned to Goofy. "Just like them, hold your hand out." When Goofy did so, a different light shown. This time, it was a brighter, bigger burst of light, the color of strawberries. When it dimmed, it revealed a charm; it was a moon with intricate designs. "Goofy, when you all return to Edge, give it to Kairi when you see her. She is awake yes, but it's a spell. Sora, Tifa, and Kairi can tell you about it since I do not know all of the details."

Suddenly, a sharp pain ignited behind Kairi's eyes as she cried out; seeing something play within her mind. Her hand held Sora's in a death grip, almost bone-crushing, as her eyes slammed shut, her back arched in agony, and a scream was torn out of her throat.

It was dark and cold, lightning flashing through the clouds as the waves crashed onto the dark shores of Destiny Island. No one was there, all safely tucked away in their beds as they waited out the midnight storm, except for one small figure who made its way towards a hole tucked away beside a big tree. The Secret Place.

Kairi looked around blankly as she tried to remember why she had come here. Then she smiled coldly; why shouldn't she come here? Where else would be a more fitting place to end it all than the source of her pain, the small hole filled with hollow promises of hope and dreams that were warped in realization. Dreams of far off places, of being heroes.

Sora had done his part; he had become the hero, the Keyblade master, the one that everyone relied on and loved. But how could they love him more than she did; they hadn't spent three years of their lives waiting for him, listening to his voice echoing in their heads over and over…

Kairi…

The red head knelt in front of the picture they had drawn together; their supposed love etched there for all time. His promise held there in the stone.

Remember what you said before? Well I'm always with you too. I'll come back to you; I promise…

But he hadn't kept his promise; not a day had gone by when Kairi didn't feel the doubt and despair grow stronger, her precious memories of him slipping away from her, one by one, until only a few remained.

Sora, don't ever change…

But he had; hadn't he. The cursed weapon, that thing of nightmares, the keyblade had taken care of that, hadn't it? If it hadn't, he would be home right now. Him and Riku, hugging her and telling her how much they'd missed her. Sora leading her slowly away from everyone else, telling her that he loved her…

Kairi…

She held her head in pain, and screamed for him to leave her alone, to let her die, as his real self had done for the past three years, and for all time.

Even if we're apart, we're not alone anymore.

Remember; where ever you go, I'll always be with you.

Slowly Kairi picked up the knife she had dropped on the ground. She lifted her head and stared at the false promise, the ugly picture of hope etched on the wall.

I'll come back to you; I promise.

What's gotten into you; you're the one that's changed Kairi.

Kairi, thank you…

Slowly, she held it to her throat, and pressed it lightly against her skin.

Kairi…

Kairi...

Lacie watched her friend with a smile, just glad to see her.

Namine stepped back and gazed at her friends with sad eyes. "We'll see each other soon," she promised and just like that, she was gone.

Kairi's scream cracked as she succumbed to sobs, her body still writhing in pain.

Lacie nodded and watched her go, before pulling Riku to the Gummi ship.

Sora picked her up, cradling her.

Kairi leaned into him, sobbing as she spasmed every so often.

I'll come back to you; I promise.

What's gotten into you; you're the one that's changed Kairi.

Kairi, thank you…

Even if we're apart, we're not alone anymore.

Remember; where ever you go, I'll always be with you.

Kairi…

Sora, don't ever change…

The words repeated in harsh cold tones that send frightening chills down her spine. She clinged to Sora, her tears soaking his shirt.

Roxas sat down, thinking on what'd just happened.

Goofy pressed a button that shut the door and started up the Gummi Ship. It rose slowly before speeding off.

Kairi's crying silenced very slowly before her eyes weakly peeled open.

Sora looked at her with worried eyes.

Kairi blinked slowly and said his name in the same way she did all those years ago when he found her in the Secret Place. "Sora...?"
