Damani: I nod. I had little to no experience in the kitchen, but I could learn quickly. That's why the Shadow king had--- I frown, pushing that thought away. I knew I was very angry with Salice, but I also knew I'd have to face her again. I still needed to send a message to her from the heir, for the current king was ill and the heir would soon rise to the throne.

(did you see where I posted I'd be reading back from the very beginning? while reading...I found a hidden story line i'd come up with that I can final put into play(: lol)

oh yeah i saw that! that must be fun! ooh what's this hidden plotline! unless it's suppose to be a surprise in which case don't tell

Sebastian: I nodded and led him into the kitchen. "I have prepared several courses for tonight. The soup being the first." I point to the stove where the soup was bubbling. "It needs regular stirring. A simple enough job for you to handle," I said with a smirk. I turned to the counter where I had begun preparations on the dessert.

(eh, i think i just made it up in case i got bored and decided to go off on my own - when you and Gaby have your Ciel/Sebby convos(: - so I would have something to do. the point is that i actually someone after Salice that is an actual threat )

Damani: I smile in relief. Stirring, I can handle that. I stride over, taking the spoon and making slow, wide circles in the hot liquid absently. I spot something in the corner of my eye. My gaze flickers over to the corner of the room just in time to see a little shadow messenger. Its mouth contorts horridly in what I suppose is a smile, but what it says has me boiling as hot as the soup in front of me.
He who comes to power goes after the weak. The weakest shall not survive and those who have defied the power will suffer.

Sebastian: I glanced into the corner as a disturbance caught my attention. The words were harshly spoken and in one of the many demonic languages--one that I was fluent in. It disappeared once its words had been uttered ((is that okay?)). "Was that for you?" I asked, returning to the dinner. Nothing would stop me from preparing the perfect meal.

(yup, that's fine. and yeah, i just realized that Salice really doesn't have any enemies :S well, she does now..)
Damani: I grind my teeth, going back to stirring, careful as to not spill any. "In a way. It's mainly for Salice," I mutter, glaring into the soup. The heir shouldn't waste his breath on meaningless threats. Although, if he is to become the king soon...I grip the spoon tightly, hearing the soft crack of the strain I'm putting on it. I lessen my grip slightly.

*evil laugh* lol

Sebastian: "Careful," I said sharply. "That's our last laddel." I frowned down at the scones I was preparing. "Whoever is threatening her is underestimating her if they call her weak."

[lily "the author" hanna]

Salice: I finally give up and just collapse into one of the chairs at my dresser. I stare at my reflection in the mirror, weariness showing through in the way i held myself as in the way my expression was. It might be time for me to move on. I haven't been to Italy in over a century now, I'm sure it's still beautiful as it always has been. I close my eyes and relax into the chair. But I can't, it feels as though I'm being watched. I open my eyes and look back into the mirror. A dark shape lingers by my window in the reflection. I don't dare turn around. I'd recognize that figure faster than I would my own face.
A bright white smile appears in the darkness. "I hope to meet you in person next time, Lady Vatani. It seems as though our meeting will be happening much sooner than I first thought it would..."
I whip around then, but all I see is the open window, letting in a fresh, cool breeze.

Damani: I nod my head, "Yes, Salice is far from weak. But it depends on what and who the subject we're speaking of. When it comes to the Shadow court, she seems as though she'd be able to take on the whole army alone..." I trail off, staring into the soup thoughtfully. "In reality though, she can barely stand to face one without letting at least a little fear escape her composure."

Sebastian: I nodded slowly. The Shadow Court. I heard much of it through out my years though I myself had never set foot in it. "Do you know from whom the threat comes?" I asked.

[lily "the author" hanna]

Damani: I look over at him in surprise. "You mean Salice never speaks of him? Strange..." my forehead creases. "It's the the heir to the throne. He's the demon that set the original curse on her family hundreds of years ago. She's a demon because of him." I say matter-of-factly.

Sebastian: "Ah, I see," I said, ignoring the prelude to his comment. Salice very rarely spoke of her past life and as it seemed with good reason. "And why would the heir wish her harm?"

[lily "the author" hanna]

Damani: My lip twitches, but I keep the smile from my lips. "Apparently, he tried to convince her to come to his father's court early - before she was even a demon - and she refused. Saying how much of an arrogant, philanderer he was to think she'd fall for his charm and his request," I let the smile spread across my face now. "But..." i trail off, "Well, i assume you know how he reacted to her comment."

Sebastian: Of course, this had all originated from a scorned demon. No good ever came from that. "And after all this time, he's sending threats to her? What has stopped him from killing her already?" I mused.

[lily "the author" hanna]

Damani: I shrug. "I think it has to do with the curse. And the fact that his father would never hear of such a thing. The Shadow court is dangerous, but they're not killers. Until now. With the king ill and close to death, the heir will soon be after Salice, I'm afraid," I admit quietly. "That's mainly why I came, to warn her."

(as i'm reading back, i realize i had Damani a lot more deadly than he seems now...i should make him more like that, i think )

Sebastian: "Well we can't have that now can we," I said. "In what form might this attack come so I can see to it that the mansion is properly defended." Bard, Finnian, and Mey-Rin would assist me in this.


ooh yes please do! i like badass demons lol maybe he's soft with worry but he hardens up to face the challenge. or something

(haha, yeah(: or else i can just have him..i dunno, snap. He can't get Salice. He can't keep her safe on his own. So he's going back to his old demon-ish ways)

Damani: My forehead creases as i start thinking it through. "He'll probably keep sending his little sadistic messengers before showing his face. Even then, he won't make it an out in the open fight. He'll probably strike when he thinks Salice is at her most vulnerable," I frown as I realize I'm much more correct than i'd like to be.

(i have a great idea for this fight now(: and it does include Damani becoming a cruel demon again, if only for a few days)

oh yeah he could crack!

Sebastian: "Well, we will do what we can to prepare, but until then, please, take the soup off; we wouldn't want to ruin dinner." I put the scones on a tray and slipped them into the oven.

is that how you make scones...? i think so o.o but i'm not sure.

im ashamed to admit i have no expertise in the art of scone-creation v.v sorry

Damani: I nod, doing as I'm told with strict obedience. I even serve it out into the bowls, all the while lost in my own thoughts.

Sebastian: "Was that the only reason you came here? To keep her safe?" I asked as I leaned back against the counter.

Damani: I sigh, giving up. "It was. But it seems as though it's a lost cause," I say in a low, growl, my eyes narrowing at the floor. I don't even know why I wanted to protect her in the first place. If she doesn't care, then why should I? Maybe it wasn't her that oblivious, maybe it was me.

Sebastian: "Giving up already? The fight hasn't even begun." The oven dinged. "Ah, the scones are ready." I pulled the tray out and lay it on the table. "We'll need to let them cool a little. And the main course isn't quite ready, but I'll see to that."

[lily "the author" hanna]

Damani: I push away from the counter, taking grim, confident steps out of the kitchen. "Don't bother to set a place for me, Sebastian. I won't be staying for dinner tonight," I say, not looking at him, just getting out of the kitchen as fast as I can.

Sebastian: "Then it seems I have extra food. Finny, Bard, and Mey-Rin will be pleased." I followed his departure with my eyes.

[lily "the author" hanna]

Salice: After that run in with the Shadow of the heir - just his shadow had me shook up! - I hurry out of my room, but not before I make sure I set a secure protective spell around my room. As I'm going down the stairs, I run into Damani. My eyes widen as I take in his appearance. His eyes have darkened and the smirk that his lips form has suspicions racing through my mind.
"Salice, in a hurry?" he asks coolly. I lean away from him, my eyebrows pulling together.
"Damani, what...?"
He chuckles, but there's no light in his eyes, no amusement about him. He takes my chin his hand and kisses the tip of my nose. I growl instinctively at the touch and he just pulls me closer. "I just hope you can take care of yourself while I'm gone. From the hints the heir's been sending you, he isn't very happy."
I swallow hard, feeling his teeth graze my neck before suddenly, he's just...gone. I grip the banister tightly, looking around. Damani had finally left, like I'd wanted him to. I felt relief wash through me, but also something else. I couldn't quite place it though..
