I walked far away from the room, falling to a crumple on the floor my head leaning on a wall in the hallway when I thought I had walked far enough.
Tray slowed his pace as I did, stopping to look at me sideways, his eyes studying me.
"Why are you really here?" I asked sighing, I wanted to go home, back to the times when I had a familly still, when everything was normal and human.
Tray looked away, frowning "I told you already, you can know in time" he answered.
"In time? Why can't I know now?"
"Because..." he hesitated clearly unsure how to answer "You are not ready yet"
I closed my eyes, not wanting to be here.
"You mean, because Ruben said so?" The words fell from my mouth, I wasn't thinking much anymore.
Silence overwhelmed me, neither of us spoke, I must have been right I guess. Eventually opening my eyes I jumped a little as Tray was crouching down beside me, looking up at the sky through a window.
"Yes, I do as Ruben says.... as do most daemons" Tray quietly told me, the first information I had gained in a while.
"Why?" my brain was buzzing with questions today.
"Because" was his only answer, I guess I was asking for too much.
"Do you enjoy.... following me around like this?" I whispered, of course he wouldn't. Again a momentary silence fell between us before he answered.
"It is my assignment, I will do as I must" he turned to face me this time, the same emotionless look in his eyes, as though he had no care for what he did in life. Which made me think as to why he didn't.
"H-how long have you lived for?" my nervousness began to return, this was a personal question after all. I was rather curious, for the first time his expression changed, I think it was slight surprise?
"A long time, I lost count long ago, though If I were to make an assumption, I would say around 260 years"
I blinked, surprised at his answer. I must seem like such a child to him.

Styler slipped around the corner to see Rachel on the floor with that guy hovering over. With a curious look upon his face, he slid futher into the conversation.

Onyx peered over his shoulder at the nosey parker, herself just about there. She was like a ghost, there but not wholey, just standing there looking spooky.
"What's happening?" she said in a loud voice before disapearing again leaving Styler standing there looking at the pair with the possibilty of them hearing.

I walked into the boarding school, my mom's words in my mind. "Try not to be such a freak. At least act like you're a normal elf." I wrapped my arms around my bookcase. My mom hadn't been kind enough to pack the clothes I wanted. All I had were these breezy dresses.

Onyx sighed as she leant against the wall, herself more like a ghost than a solid elf.
"Stupid... Must be something to do with-" she looked up, her head snapping instantly to the outline of an elf. She shrugged and turned solid, something that took her too much power to do, to avoid awkward questions like 'Why are see-through?!' and 'Why can I put my hand through you?' mainly that of what a five-year old would ask, but to be honest she was a little miffed off at the moment to do much minus moaning.

I walked down the hall shakking everytime someone said something to me, I'd stoop and would listen and give a little nod or headshake and fake a smile but never speak.

"Either way I need to get thid sorted," she told herself before walking out infront of an elf, shunting her walk down the halls; she didn't have enough time to waste all this, she needed to see Styler ASAP.

I quickly stopped when a girl walked out in front of me and let her go. I mean normal elves did that, right?

"Now, I need to get Solena back to slit his throat so that I go back in peace," she sighed as the crowd stopped; elven fight.
"Yo! Reaper! Move out of the way you windy [censored]!" she looked at him, her red eyes blazing, her grey-white skin seeming unnatural; you could tell she wasn't a normal elf.
As they stopped, she pushed through, her presense known to the school now. The new kid was a blood-eyed elven girl looking half-dezd in appearence. Great.
"Hello gorgeous!" one of the guys whistled as he put an arm around her as they walked, "Give us a smooch!"
He pressed his lips together, his mates laughing while the rest watched and waited.
Seizing his face in her hand, she slammed him against the lockers, them now smashed in from the knock.
"Don't mess with me Looper, I have something to be doing, 'kay?!" she snapped as he froze with fear, her hand on his neck. Closing in, putting her mouth next to his pointed ear, she continued, "And if you dare do it or any of your little friends then I'll personally send 'em to their graves, got it?" after bringing her face back she lightly kissed his cheek, a smile on her lips, "Run along."
With that she dropped him, the elf falling to the floor; everyone was gauping at her as she walked down the halls including the girl from behind her, she seemed to be bricking it.

I stumbled into the gym, late and could hear people sniggering while some girls just glared at me. I wasn't surprised. I was the type of girl all the guys wanted but also the type that was afraid to date.

"Um...h-hi..." I stuttered diverting my eyes and went to the fathest corner from everyone else.

"Onyx Marks," she looked at the teacher and faked a smile.
"Well you're not on my list! You've got other classes, m'love!" her voice boomed through the gym where weapons class was held, Onyx's favourite.
"I'm new. I'm taking thingymajics' classes, y'know the one that di-"
"Yes, yes, now sit on the bench with the others..." she pointed loosely to one.
"Yes ma'am," she nodded and smiled at the elves already there.
As she did, the others scooted up towards the other end of the bench as far away as possible making a smile brim to her lips; the ones that were there had seen her with Looper's neck earlier, they were shit scared. The girl that was behind her had already been sat due to the fact that about five minutes had passed since she was explaining to the teacher that the reason that she wasn't on the list was because she was new to the school.
"Now! Class! Today we are continuing about how to weild a sword! Anyone want to demonstrate what they learnt last lesson?" his eyes trailed the room as he looked at Onyx and Night, "Actually, new girls! Both of you up here now!"
Onyx nodded and looked at the teacher as he handed her the sword, not very good and wasn't well balanced, to make matters worse it was blunt.
"Show us your skills, what you know, if you don't know anything and the other does then you can take on me instead."
A smile brimmed Onyx's face as she flicked the sword around her hand despite the bottom-heavy build of it, "Do you know how to use one?"

I nodded, if there was one thing I knew, it was fighting. My dad had taught me because I didn't use my magic. but I still remained silent.

Rachel:

I sighed, he was 260 years old? that meant he'd killed 260 years worth of elves, well their life span anyway. It made me shudder thinking about it.
"How many?" I said looking at my feet, I think he understood from my sudden unsettled griping of my knees, ducking my head in them.
"four" he said, so simply, only four?
"So youv'e only killed four people in 260 years?"
Silence fell again.
"No. I have killed many. I have absorbed four souls. Though that is nothing compared to many Daemons, it is absorbing the dead souls, that gives us immortality. The left over life span that they should of lived, our bodies take instead." He told me as though it was a lecture. Though my body still felt numb from the amount of people he had probably killed.
"Why do you do it? Live forever, why would you want too... doesn't life... drag on for you? Most things can't seem as precious if you have eternity to do them, the excitment and thrill trying to do all you can in such a short time is what makes living berable. If you live forever, nothing must seem new anymore, doesn't it feel like any happiness or fun is slowly sucked away?" The words fell like word vomit. I knew I shouldn't be saying such things, but it had been on my mind ever since I heard of the daemons exsistence.
Silence fell as usual between my questions as he thought of an answer, I looked up to find him staring at me. I widened my eyes not quite sure I saw the emotion he had lack all this time in his face.
He gazed on me, not hiding his curiosity and surprise.
"Rachel" he spoke my name for the first time, it was strange hearing it from him. "Eternal life, not dying.... It has always been this way, I have never wondered what it would be like to live on such a short lifespan. I suppose what you say is true, however death can provide a limitation on your life, either way, I live mine, just as you do yours. I just have much more of it. I still feel the same as you, I still hurt the same, some parts of me have changed over the years, such as my opinions and views as does every one's as time passes. However, it isn't how long your life is, it is how you spend it that matters, with the right person or people, one can have a happy life. When without company, or without proper social relationships, life can be just as boring or hurtful for me or you." Tray spoke words that sort of made sense to me. He was right in a way, as I was sure so was I.
"So are you with the right people?" I asked on a whim
"I believe so, for the time being, in time my opinion may change" and for the death of me I actually saw him smile slightly, as though he had made some sort of joke.
"Well, if your happy I guess..." I trailed of, still a little dazzled at his smiled.
"Are you happy?" he suddenly asked me, it seemed the more we got to know each other, the less silent he was becoming. Though this was the first question he had ever asked me.
I looked away, frowning, this was a hard one.
"Yes and No" I said, his expression clearly wanting me to elaborate. "My parents died not too long ago, at least the people who raised me did, I'm not sure if they are my parents anymore." I recalled me being half elf, that really had come out of nowhere "Being told I was half-elf... well that was difficult to get through. Eventually I believed Kai, and I came here" I sighed.
"I've met some good friends here, I like the school as a whole, but..." I paused, unsure how to phrase to him. He sat silently waiting for me to continue.
"But, well.... after Ruben, I don't know who i'm supposed to be anymore, I have no idea what i'm supposed to do with my life. I happy where I am and who I'm with, but loosing my parents, and no longer feeling comfortable with myself anymore... I guess you could say i'm feeling lost." confused would have also been a good way to describe how I felt, but I didnt want to seem like an idiot for being confused about myself to him.
Tray didnt say anything, he seemed deep in thought, I don't think he will answer, he does follow Ruben after all.
At that moment sounds of truging feet and echoing conversations filled the hallway. Class had ended, great I had skipped two lessons on to talk to my secret Daemon stalker who was somehow camiflarged as an Elf. And only on my second day.
