I help a young mother choose her food while the child won't shut up. "Mommy can I get-" "No honey. not today." "What about this-" "No." She gives me an apologetic smile, which I return with my own pleasant one. "I'll get the sour dough." She says, pointing to it behind the glass. I pick it up, placing it into a bag. She hands me the money, telling me to keep the change. "Thank you." I tell her as she walks out, and she throws a smile over her shoulder. These women were too easy.

Lorenna: "Then you'll feel right at home," I said, a little too harshly. I sat up and wrapped my arms around my knees. Jacko looked at me sidelong.

Keith leaned back and crossed his mind, their humor did not amuse him. They wouldn't realize how much he would have to do to fit in. Haircut, which he hated the thought of, and supressing his accent which meant putting a new one on and not letting his slip out. "No problem." Keith replied, glaring at Lorenna.

Lorenna: I ignored Keith's look and stared at the carpet. Jacko didn't bother with a comforting had on the back, that wouldn't help.

Jasmine: I got up and ran to my room, wishing it was farther up than it was. To easy to get to you just had to stand on something. I ran and jumped out my secret door. I ran to the stables and started to meditate again. Why had Lorenna said that? I was just trying to help!

Keith ignored that fact that Jasmine just left, he hated how she did that not getting in trouble. "After we get blend in with the nobility, then what?" Keith asked.

Lorenna: Oops, I was so dead.
"Lorenna," Jacko said coldly. I glanced at him. Yep, I was dead. He had on a we'll-talk-later look. Can't wait.
Jacko looked over at Keith. "You can get a good look at the layout of the palace. According to one of my informants, the prince has a key to the vault that the jewels are in. It would probably be easiest to get the key from him." Ah, yes. Prince Lennard. He wasn't sharpest knife in the drawer. He was more like a spoon actually.

"That'll be easy enough, Prince Idiot will give it to any of his close friends. But what about the guards, their more than daisies in a field." Keith said. The guards had him worried, if his accent did slip it would slip with the guards.

Lorenna: Jacko nodded. "The guards are the hard part." Jacko stroked his chins. He was fresh out of ideas.
"We could distract them," I suggested. I was never much help at the war meetings. Whatever I suggested was usually half hearted and pathetic at best.

"A distraction is good, but dangerous." Keith said, worried about everyone. Wondering the type of distraction and who would be doing it.

Lorenna: "Don't be such a worry wart," I said with a dismissive wave of my hand. "I can distract the guards, no sweat." Jacko looked in no way happy about this idea. What, it wasn't like I would snagged some super expensive necklace and run out of there. That actually could work as a distraction. If I wanted to spend the rest of my life in a high security prison.

Keith didn't think her being the distraction was the best idea. "I'm trying to make sure everything goes right." Keith said, no one was going to be captured, hurt, or killed on his watch.

Jacko: I smiled as Jasmine entered. "We were just discussing distractions," I said. I looked over at Lorenna, warning her not to say anything. Lorenna ignored me, blatantly.

Lorenna: I watched Jasmine walk back in. "Then what do you suggest?" I asked Keith.

"I'll be the distraction. It will be easier for you and Jasmine to steal the jewels. Plus it would be okay if I got sent to prison." Keith said, a lot more people cared about the two girls than him.

Lorenna: I sat, shocked. My mouth hung open slightly. I didn't know how to respond. 'Haha you're funny.' Would just kill the moment.
Jacko looked at Keith. "We'd get you out," Jacko said. "If worst came to worst, we could get you out." It was true. Jacko had connections. He could probably pull some strings and lighten the sentence.

"I know." Keith said dryly. "But it would be our best bet." Keith nodded, even if Jacko couldn't get out, he could escape. Only he and Jacko knew he was a wanted man already.

Lorenna: I shook my head. "We couldn't break him out, Jas," I said. "Leon is just waiting for a reason to sink us all. If we break him out of jail and then harbor him, Leon would take us all down."
Jacko glanced over at me and then back at Keith. "It's idea we have by way of the guards," he said. "We have an idea of how to get into the vault. Now we just need the papers and the clothes."

"Don't act like you haven't worn anything like it before." Keith retorted. He glared at Lorenna, "Cute my ass." He said, it would look ugly, and he knew it.
He crossed his arms. "So who are we getting these papers from?" He asked.

Jacko: Lorenna snickered again. She loved needling Keith. "I know I forger. He can make us the papers and make them look real," I said. "Jasmine and Lorenna, will you deal with the clothes. Try not to draw attention to yourselves. We don't want all of Low End knowing that you intend to dress nicely."
"Why am I stuck on shopping duty?" Lorenna grumbled. I knew what her real question was: why am I stuck with Jasmine?
"Because I said so."
"Oh, well in that case," Lorenna muttered under breath.
