Artist's Retreat - Page 22 Empty Re: Artist's Retreat

Lauren-

"What are you humming?" I asked following him. Pancakes and eggs sounded delightful. I could practically smell them.

Russ-

I finished the song and looked at everything surrounding me. Inspiration hit. I started picking out a few chords, and wrote them down. This would be a productive morning.

Artist's Retreat - Page 22 Empty Re: Artist's Retreat

Jac: Done with the faces in the sky I move to the landscape, the horizon holds a city scape, lit up by thousands of tiny lights. It moves to flowers and vines, curling up and old tree barren of leaves. In the trunk of the tree I paint a womans form, stretched and at peace, almost completely blended in like the faces in the sky. I quietly hum Iron and Wine under my breath, hoping I don't disturb Aj. I put down my paints, running a hand through my hair, feeling its trail of cool paint. I sigh, studying it carefully.

Jon: I look at her for a minute before my mind processes what she says. "Oh, just something Ive been working on. Its nothing really." I shrug as we enter the kitchen. I go to the fridge, pulling out the supplies I need.

Lauren-

I sat on the counter. "It was really good." I said. It truly was. I wished I could sing better, it was just something I did in my free time. I could barely play my guitar.

Russ-
I wrote down a few more chords, and closed my eyes as I played it, the sound echoed through the surrounding woods. It was great. Then the words started to come. "I see the ocean blue, I see the stars like you. I see the sky so clear, If only someone would hear." I sang. Strumming my guitar, my whole body felt the music.

(sorry, inkpop was making me mad and I had to restart my computer because of it -_-")

Aj: I smooth my finger over the rough angry line I'd created on accident, hoping it would just blend in as a darker shadow. I bite my lip, then relax when it does seem to fit in. I lean back on the stool, grabbing the seat to brace myself and avoid falling off. I tilt my head to the side, my forehead creased as I concentrate on my drawing. Then I lean forward again swipe lightly at the shell patterns to make them more predominant.

Jon: I give her a quick smile, "Thanks." I go to work mixing the batter. I pause for a second, freezing in the position that I was in, hunch over the bowl, spoon mid stir. "Whats your favorite color?" I ask curiously.

Jac: I pick up some paints, the ones I'd finished with, and moved to put them away in the storage cover at the other end of the room. Coming back I peek at Aj's drawing. "Its adorable." I tell her, smiling, as I go back to my painting.

Aj: I smile a little to myself, nodding. "Yeah, she is." I reach out and touch the drawing before shaking my head and carefully picking the drawing off the easel. I stop next to Jac's, not sure if he's ok with me seeing his own art work. It's a personal thing, most people wouldn't understand it. But I dare turn and look at it. The swirls of paint and the faces, I can't look away from any of it or even say anything for a long moment.
"Yours is...beautiful," i finally say, still studying the painting with a soft smile. This is exactly what I needed; to be around people like me.

Lauren-

"Lime green?" I answered simply, "Or just any green. Why?" I asked. They say curiosity killed the cat, but I'm no cat, and I hate them. So that saying means nothing to me.

Russ-

My stomach rumbled making me stop my work. I put the music under my guitar case, half sticking out. I set the guitar in and closed the bumper sticker covered case. My name and a soccer ball were horrible painted on it by me. I didin't paint and my case proved it. I was a sculptor and singer. I laughed to myself, as I headed inside, to eat a quick breakfast then go back to work.
I hummed the tune as I walked inside.

Jon: I nodded. Going to a cupboard and pulling out food coloring. Splitting the batter into two bowls I make half blue and half green before pouring them on the griddle. "Yum." I hum.

Jac: "Thank you." I say to her, Id been working on it for quite a while now, started with sketches. I'd been planning on finding the perfect place to hand it soon.

Lauren-

Colored pancakes, I laughed. The looked delicious though. "They smell, and look amazing." I smiled.

Russ-

Still humming my song, I headed up the stairs to get a jacket. The tune was really catchy. I smiled, as I grabbed the jacket. I headed back downstairs, stopping at the foot to put the North Face fleece on.

Penny: I sit on my bed contemplating if I should go out or not. I bite my lip and pull on some shorts. I go outside in my ugs and a big cat sweat shirt. I go to the caf for some hot chocolate and sit there.

Russ-

I headed into the kitchen in search of breakfast. I found a bag of pastries, that American's called doughnuts. I opened the fridge no OJ, just milk and water. Darn, water it was. I would have to talk to someone about that. I couldn't have milk, I was starting to feel a bit queasy from the lasagna last night, it had a bit to much cheese for me to handle.

lily's back ^^

Aj: I massage my stomach as it rumbles. I really hadn't had anything to eat today yet. I make a face, thinking about going to get a snack or something. "Hey, are you hungry? I was thinking about getting something to eat," i say out loud, looking to Jac. Then grimace when I realize that I had. usually, I'd have just left without another word. This being with other people thing was making me act strange.

Jac: I look to Aj for a moment, "Um, sure." I say with a smile, I'd already eaten this morning, but I could use another cup of coffee.

Jon: "well here you are m'lady." I say, handing her a plate of green pancakes and Eggs while I grab my own blue ones.

Aj: I smile faintly back after a moment and lead the way out of the room, holding the door open for him. The funny thing is that I have no idea why I asked him to come. Maybe it was because I was tired of eating by myself all the time at home.

Russ-

I frowned, she made fun of his accent. "Any thing I can do to help?" I asked.

Lauren-

"Why thank you good sir." I laughed, taking the pancakes. I hopped of the counter and looked for a fork, knife and syrup. I found them. I ate the eggs, than pored the syrup on the plate, and cut the pancakes. They were delicious, "These are great." I smiled.

Jon: I hum a little while walking. "So Aj, your enjoying the cabin? YOur artwork seems really great, I only hope being here helps." I say to her looking ahead while we walk. My eyes wander over pictures lining the hall, some of my own, some former guests, some friends of mine, all great. I grin.

Jon: "Me 'n Jac used to make them all the time." I told her grinning, remembering our early morning adventures before our parents woke up, "We're both morning people, so we make a mean breakfast."
