Connor: I keep up first for at least half the time, checking the time every two minutes or so. The only thing keeping my mind on the race is Clarkson. He's taking second right in front of Jp. I almost drop some mines behind me, but decide not to because a few extras might hit Jp's dark car. The second the third - and second to last - checkpoint comes up, I send back a wave of black smog and grin as I hear tires squeal. I also knew it wasn't Jp's car. Why? Because she was passing me---
wait, what was that?!

Jp just passed me! I mean, I should be happy that she's not totally eating my smoke, but what the hell? I glance out my side window, my eyes narrowing as Jp waves to me and speeds up to first, a good three hundred or so feet in front of me and passes through the last checkpoint.

JP: I speed through the finish line, grinning to myself. I knew my best friend - I could really call her that now - was sick, but taking first in front of Connor was a feat that I had no idea I could do. I glide to a stop, taking a moment more of silence before stepping out to the world of flash photography and Ky. And I do get to see a glimpse of an annoyed looking Connor. I wave to him from within Ky's hug.

Connor: I got second. To Jp. And now? I have to run to the hospital. I hop back in my car, blasting my horn to get people to move. Then I jump when Ky and Jp slip into the back seat of my car just as I get a clear shot out of the arena and hit the gas. They wave to me carefully. I roll my eyes.
"Hey, she's our friend too." Jp puts in and I have to listen to her. I just hope Lucy is alright.

Lucy: I wake up in the hospital bed with a throbbing side while freaking out. "Anyone? ANyone?!" I call out hugging my sides tenderly. I started to shake with fear, they wouldn't just leave me alone here? Would they?

Connor: I push past all the nurses, only waiting the few moments that it takes to learn where Lucy's room is before dashing away and letting Jp and Ky figure out all the paper stuff. There was more important things than signing a bunch of legal stuff.
I don't even bother knocking on the door, I just burst right in. I meet eyes with Lucy's slightly fearful ones. I swallow hard, closing the door behind me softly.
"Hey," I call softly, walking over to stand beside her bed. "How you doing?" I ask, taking her hand in mine with a gentle half smile.

Lucy: I pull his hand close so I could hug him. I nuzzled my face into his chest and whimpered.

Connor: "I'm right here," I murmur, sitting down on the bed next to her and cradling her against my chest. I press my lips to the top of her head, feeling worry and anxiety wash through me. "Do you know what's wrong?" I ask her quietly.

Lucy: I nodded. "My apendix." I wrapped my arm arounf him ignoring the uncomfortable pulling sensation from my IV's.

Connor: I let out a slow breath. "It could be worse, right?" I ask shakily, putting on a painful half smile.

Jp: Ky and I crash in through the door, spotting Connor and Lucy curled up on the bed. I smile bitter sweetly. At least Luce has Connor. Lucky her. "Hey you two," I greet quietly.

Lucy: I let a small smile loose and release Conner from my hug. I lifted the hospital gown, revealing my stomach and a neatly stiched up scar. "My battle wound."

Jp: I grin, still good ol Lucy. "That's hot," I say walking over to her. "But seriously, do you even know what's going on? Oh, and I beat Connor. First place baby." I bat my eyelashes over at Connor who was glaring playfully at me.

Lucy: I grinned at her and kissed her cheek. "My throat is really sore..so I won't talk much." I croak. I run a hand through my messy hair and look to Jp knowing she'd read my mind. 'make me look pretty?' was the look I sent her. I kissed Conner's nose then looked between Ky and Jp curiously.

Jp: I smirk. "You wanna borrow a brush or what?" I ask her, then make a face when she looks between me and Ky. I shrug, leaning back against him with a half smile.

Connor: I tighten my arms around Lucy. "Hey, I let her win. I even took out Clarkson and sent him to fourth. You should be thankful. And second isn't so bad, you know?" I brush it off.

Lucy: I kiss his cheek as if to say 'whatever helps you sleep at night'. I nodded to Jp with pleading eyes, my head felt like a huge matted mess.

Jp: I walk over to where her purse is and dig through to where I know her smaller brush is. I finally find it and hold it up triumphantly and saunter back over to the bed and hand it to her.

(Aw, sorry, i gots to go now Sad

Connor: I stroke her hair slowly, like petting a cat. "Aww...how soft." I say fondly, smiling cheekily at Lucy as Jp and Ky chuckle.

(ooh, i just noticed...'Jp'...'Ky'....two letters...weird...o.O)

Lucy: I bat away his hand playfull and lean into his warm chest. I press the nurse button on my controller thingy and turn to JP. I was starving, she of all people knew how to read my mind. I raised my eyebrows at her expectantly and gave her the puppydog eyes.

Jp: I roll my own eyes and turn around, taking Ky's hand and dragging him toward the door.
"Where are we going?" he asks. I half smile a little. He's so cute when he acts dumb. Unless he really is stupid...I suppress a sigh.
"Oh, you'll see," I say, letting him wrap his mind around that one. His silence confirms it and I smile over at him. He just smiles back and pulls me closer to him.
"We'll be back...later..." I call absently over my shoulder before we're out the door.

Connor: I let a sigh escape my lips as Ky closes the door behind himself. I let Lucy do all the talking when the nurse comes in and just nod, not really caring what I'd eat. I was just so...tired. With the races..being in the hospital..worrying about Luce...I close my eyes and lean back against the head board.

Lucy: As soon as the nurse left I curled into Conner's side and felt comfortable for the first time since the operation. It was Conner that made me feel comfortable, I stroked his cheek as we waited for the food.

Connor: I offer a gentle half smile to Lucy as I lean my cheek more into her hand. "You know what. When you get out of this place, we're going on a vacation. Maybe through a party." As long as I get through the finals on Friday. Two days. This is the only race that really makes me nervous. Why? Because everything's so screwed up at the moment, I'm not sure what to think.
