The next time Dayna awoke it was early morning- 5:30 by her watch. She felt grimy after falling asleep in her uniform, so she headed home on her motorcycle. She used the black bike whenever her car was out of commission.
After a shower and a quick visit to the track's doctor she was ready to work on her car.
She washed all the dirt and grit off before filling the cracks with a pale putty of her father's making. The goop worked well, so after twenty minuets the cracks were sealed.

Connor: As I walk to school, I run into a few kids that offer congratulations, and I take them with a fake smile and a simple thanks. I can't believe I even put up with it. One, I still have Avery's necklace in my pocket, and two, I can't stop replaying the scene of Clarkson forcing Jaydyn's brother off the cliff. I close my locker, closing my eyes for a moment to clear my head. Then i head out the door and head for my first class building. I spot JP leaning against a tree. I think about going up to her, but i stop. Clarkson is talking to her. He's smirking darkly at her, leaning menacingly toward her. Now as I look closer, i can see the pain on her face. He says something more and she turns her head away from him and her eyes meet mine. Clarkson looks up too, his expression going cold. He stalks away as JP makes a dash for the building up ahead. But I cut her off.

"Hey, what was up with that? Was he bothering you?" I ask her calmly. She just avoids my gaze, shaking her head, reaching for the door. I have to know what he said though. "Jaydyn," i say quietly, glancing over my shoulder to see the mass of students heading this way.

"Nothing. He just..we were talking about...Jordan," she shrugs it off, meeting my eyes for only the second time. I let my gaze fall. That...I'm not even gonna start. I let out a deep breath.

"Look Jay, can we talk later?" I ask her carefully, looking up again. She just shrugs again.

"Whatever." she murmurs. "It doesn't matter." And the swarm of kids overtakes us and I have to let them open the doors. She disappears into the crowd as they rush to their classes. I turn the other way, I gotta talk to Lucy. No, I gotta go kill Clarkson. But wait, I'll have plenty of time to do that.

Dayna checked her watch- she didn't have any college classes until after noon. Picking up her phone, she texted Elliot to see if he could come help her with the car.

Elliot: I yawn, grumbling when I hear my familiar ringtone. "I'm getting it, I'm getting," I mumble to myself before answering it. "Yeeelllo?" i yawn. again.

[Ziva :)]

"Hey- it's Dayna. I need some help on the car- could you give me a hand?"

Elliot: I sit up, sighing when i realize it's not one of those texts where it talks to me. I actually have to look at it. I slide out of bed and look over at my phone. "ah, i guess I'm finally needed." I smile to myself and stand up, stretching. I throw on a sweatshirt and some old torn jeans i didn't really care about. That should do it. I head out towards the garage, whistling to myself. I wonder how much I'm getting paid for this..

Hearing the door open, Dayna rolled out from underneath the the Wind's song, a wrench in hand. She smiled. "How much are you usually paid for this kind of thing?"

Elliot: I ruffle the hair at the back of my head. "Uh..well I don't usually do this...so, whatever you'll give me." I smile hopefully at her. maybe it'll be above Connor's wage of 20,000! i only get little chunks at a time though.

[Ziva :)]

"How much does Connor pay you?" she asked deliberately. She'd seen him with the headphones at the race- not that she'd minded. Dayna needed help in the garage- especially when she was hurt, but hated looking for employees.

Elliot: I grin. "40,000," i lie easily. "But I'll give you a discount and will accept 30,000 with open arms," I open my arms wide. "C'mere, someone needs a hug!" I sing.

"I'll pay you thirty thousand if you help out in the garage after races," She smiled- there was no way Connor paid him that much just for changing tires. Obligingly, she stepped into his arms, muttering,"Careful"- Dayna had cracked two ribs on her left side in the race.

Elliot: I pat her head lightly before pulling away. "You're right. Highest payer is priority number one in my book." I say cheerfully. "So, what do we got here?" I ask, getting serious. I wasn't just known for changing tires. I knew other stuff too.

[Ziva :)]

She turned to her car, "I ruined the shocks- we'll need to replace them, and she needs a new back armour plate. I've already taken care of most of the minor things," Dayna smiled, "That was the most interesting race in a while, and it was only qualifications,"

Elliot : I nod I'm agreement. "Yeah, I haven't seen a racer go down for a long time. Met the poor guy's sister, offered my shoulder to cry on. She hit me," I smirk a little, but it fades. "I hate how these races affects more than just the racers. It shouldn't--" I cut off, shaking my head. I was gonna say, 'shouldn't be legal,' but I could get into nasty things if I said that.

Dayna sighed loudly and nodded. "Just because it shouldn't doesn't mean it won't," She' learned it the hard way- her dad was dead and the only way to keep her little brother safe was to race and race well.
"Come, on master tireman- help me get this mess of rubber off," Dayna joked a bit to lighten the mood. She has a hard time talking about topics that prick her emotions.

Elliot: I flash a lopsided smile at her. "You got it, sweets." I stride over to the have a look at the tires. I whistle. "Looks like we're gonna need a few new tires over here," i smile widely, getting to work right away. I set the car on jacks, so that i can get under the car more easily. Then i pop the tires off and screw on some new ones. I check the underside for any damage under there. Don't want a leak or anything. I've seen some nasty explosions because of simple mistakes like that.

Dayna slipped back under the car while he was working on the wheels, and took of the shock absorbers that'd been messed up when she hit ground at the end of the big jump.
"Hey, pass me a few new shocks, will ya?"

Elliot: "Yuh-huh...just a second..." I grunt while I rip off the last piece of rubber. It had really got stuck up in the rifters. Jesus, i think i twisted an arm muscle. But I lean back and grab a few of the shockers - my own terminology there for ya - and toss them under the car to her.

[Ziva :)]

The new shocks all fastened appropriately, Dayna rolled out from under the car and went to check on the exposed fuel tank before they put the armour back on. She just barely dodged the splash of gas, and laughed. It was no wonder then she didn't see the next wave of oil.
"Ugh," she muttered, though she was still giggling. "I don't think the Wind's Song particularly liked my driving.

Elliot: I smirk, then look over at her from screwing in the last tire. "You'd better watch out. Cars are unforgiving. Learned that from experience." I add, chuckling myself.

"Is that so? Dayna smiled and smearedoil on his arm as she walked towards the rolling rack that held peices of the back armour.
