"Well," Akahana said, thinking, "I can do this..." The messhall began to look like a rainforest. No one but Kyle abd Akahaba seemed to notice. "And, if I really focus, I can see and hear things around the world. All sorts of fun stuff." the rainforest illusion fell. Akahana smiled.

Kyle: "Hmpf..." I seemed confused, I wasn't really sure what to think. I now knew she had an ability that could be used against anyone she chose without them even noticing.

Kyle: I took another sip of my soup. "Hmm, well I was within the original 6, who were the founders of the resistance, so its been a good 4 years, basically since the conflict started. All of us except 1 were Drakeish elves." I looked up slightly and shook my head, then returned to my soup.

Kyle: "After 4 years I've had to watch 3 of the original 6 die because 1 traded on us. Now theres only 2 of us left fighting for the resistance, and 1 still on the Nationalists side. War will kill you, weather you live to tell the tale or not, you'll see the only people who meant anything to you, the only people who tried to protect you, die... And then no matter what, you'll wish that it had been you, but it never will be you. Thats when you can say you've been in a war." I stopped.

Akahana didn't know what to say. She reaasures herself that the Lady could never die, no matter how much the Nationalists threatened her. But she could from Kyle's manner that he had gone through much more than the horrors he had described.

Kyle: "That is why I envy our general, She has lost so many compared to any of us." I stopped again, but continued this time. "You'll understand what I mean as soon as you experience your first battle. You'll become friends with these people, they'll be your friends... But the day something happens to either of you, all of you will die, you'll come to this base, each day in pain with only the new people that you become friends with to get rid of the images you've seen." I looked away, and then back to Akahana. "Beauty is not part of war." I laughed a little bit.

Akahana arched an eyebrow. "What exactly are you laughing at?" she asked, starting yo smile a bit. Kyle's laugh was contagious.

Akahana put her hand down and shrugged. Why had the Lady made her come here? Akahana and many other Kitsune had already been fighting for her. What was the point of having someone here? She sighed and turned back to Violet. "So..." Akahana said, trying to think of a conversation starter.

"You must have met a Nogikitsune," Akahana said, "They don't follow anyone. And when a Kitsune has no rules but their own... things can get dicey," She watched as Violet laughed, "Though somehow, I get the impression they didn't give you too much trouble. I"m gonna guess they only had...," She thought for a moment, "One, maybe two tails."

Violet: "Okay, I don't really know much about Kitsune, so, how do you get the tails?" I was moderately intrigued.

"Well, you get tails as you age and gain more wisdom," Akahana said, "A lot of folk legends say that you can't have more than one tail until you've lived 1,000 years, but that's not exactly true. If you work hard, the Lady will grant you them before that." She smiled. "Oh, and the more tails, the power you have access to." she added.

Violet: "Thought so... So, how come the ones that attacked me had only one or two? Wouldn't it be wiser to have ones that had like five tails? I mean, then I would have a challenge at least." I shrugged, "The thing is, my race is hated, as you may know, so me walking down a street... Yeah, I'm guaranteed a fight." I laughed, flicking some shadow up, "But it's better than doing nothing, and I'm never in danger, I'm too powerful for them, and for most other Shadow Thieves." I rambled a little too much then.
