"Hello," Ashlyn said, in her sugary, airy, tone, "I'm Ashlyn. I was wondering my friend Falkner and I could stay here a while. He's having a slight...," she searched for the right word, "...issue and is in no condition to continue on at the moment."

Aqua: "Xoxo! It's for you!" I called and stretched. I walked back and let her take control.

"He's a bit sick at the moment," Ashlyn tried to explain it away. It wasn't a complete lie. The flashbacks of his past often did make Falkner sick.

Aqua: I listened into her mind's voice. It was a handy thing. "Anyway, I need some air, I went outside and flew up into the air. Xoxo was getting suspicious of me.

Falkner sank against a tree, beads of sweat forming on his forehead. His mind clouded over as he began to remember. The forests of France. A shepherdess, Jeanne Boulet. Sweet flesh melting on his tongue. The villagers of Languedoc chasing him.

Aqua: I landed in a tree somewhere. I needed to be alone. A tear trickled down my cheek. I had sucking life. I didn't even know how it happened.

Falkner smelled someone perched in the branches of the tree. That someone smelled a lot like Jeanne Boulet had. His eyes became purest silver and he began to shift. He was losing control.
