X-Men character chat - Page 5 Empty Re: X-Men character chat

"Outside?" Amara asked, she didn't quite understand what Scarlett meant. She figured it was how long had she been outside the school, but couldn't be certain.
Tarrant smiled at the kids who were hanging around the halls. "Don't be late for class," he told them all, his stern voice contradicting the half-smile. About half the kids rolled their eyes in exasperation. The other half looked truly worried. There were several mutters of things like, "He's not teaching, is he? What about what happened to building C last time he did? What about poor Ryan? I don't think he'll survive another class with Hightopp."

Scarlett almost knelt down on the floor and looked up to the big guy in the sky screaming 'WHY?! WHY?!' but then she remembered that the girl was with her.
"He's on the second floor; he said he sensed trouble so he called the main group up to help, but they're busy with other stuff so only Storm's left," Jayley smiled at me, I knew she was a smug little bitch but to be honest I could give a fu-
"Careful!" she giggled, but I knew she was pissed with me.
"You can't be careful enough here, there's always someone that knows what you're up to..." I sighed as I realised that Cole had stolen my lighter.

Tarrant opened the door of the classroom. Due to the Storm-caused storm, they'd be having Combat class indoors. No matter, a little illusioning and the students wouldn't know the difference.

"Miss Scarlett," Amara said, looking up at the girl as she said it, "Where exactly am I supposed to go?" Luna and Sol had retreated to her pockets. She could feel them writhing around, trying to get comfortable.

Scarlett smiled, "You may just call me Scarlett, no Miss, I can't do formality..." not anymore anyway. She clicked her neck and sighed, "We need to go speak with the the principle so that he can talk to you about your powers. He can help you train them and make it so you don't cause a downpour everytime you're upset," I bent down to her height, "I know what it's lile to be in your shoes, everyone here does, we've been down this corridor with someone, you're unsure of what's gonna happen and to be honest you're scared, but this isn't a bad thing, this was the best thing that could happen to you."
"Very nicely said Scarlett," his voice said calmly behind me, "And you must be Amara?"

Amara listened intently to what Scarlett had to say. It made more sense than anything else she'd heard that day. She jumped slightly at the sudden voice. Looking around Scarlett, she saw it came from a man in some sort of wheelchair.

Tarrant perched on the desk, smiling. Thanks to him, the mahogny desk was the only thing that had survived last year's explosion. After all, it was his desk. He couldn't let it be blown to bits with the rest of the building. Looking up at the clock, Tarrant silently counted down until the bell would ring. 5... 4... 3... 2... 1... The shrill bell cut through the air and students began filing into the room, some of them quite reluctantly.

Scarlett blushed slightly, "I was just speaking the truth is all..." she rubbed the back of her head and looked down to the girl, "Charles is basically our principal, he knows something about everything and if you ever get into trouble he'll be the one to help, of course onltpy if it's completelt urgent..."
"Hmm... Either way Amara, welcome, I take it as you arrived not long ago?" he smiled at the girl, trying not to scare her; she was rather young anyway.

Amara nodded at the man, Charles. He seemed kind; a bit like a grandfather.

Tarrant did a head count of the class, it appeared that two were missing. Scarlett was taking Amara to Charles, so she had an excuse; but there was another student missing. "Alright, anyone know who's missing?" One student raised their hand, "Uh, Ryan's gone, Mr. Hightopp. He had some sort of a nervous breakdown and had to go to the nurse's office."

"Scarlett, I suggest you take her under your wing for now?" he finished off explaining everything so he smiled.
"Okay, sure," I sighed; I wasn't a babysitter but I wasn't gonna argue.
"And I believe that you have Mr Hightop's class now? I trust you to keep an eye on him or this time I shall get rid of his teaching name here."
"That's default now, but thank you," I smiled before he rolled off into his office, "Do you think you've got it all?"

Amara nodded a bit. It seemed to make more sense now. At least, if things started getting hazy or confusing, she could always ask Scarlett.

Tarrant drummed his fingers on the desk for a moment. "All right then," he said, "I suppose we'll start without them." He looked around the class, "As you can see, we'll be having class indoors. That means more talking and less action." He said it apologetically, but the class took great joy in this. In their minds, that also meant less explosions.

Scarlett smiled and put her hand out, "You can hold my hand if you want to," knowing her luck it would blow up in her face. Either way she kept the same light smile that she hadn't worn in years; at least she hasn't since she's come here.

Amara thankfully clung to Scarlett's hand and followed her down the hall. It was easier to cope with all this if she wasn't alone.

Tarrant began the lecture. "Now, seeing as we're in a confined space, let's practice 'situation combat.' For this situation, let's say you have just recieved an invitation to a birthday party from your archnemisis. As a side note: While this is most likely a trap, it would be wise to bring a present just in case."

(just in case XD)

Scarlett opened the door slowly to see Tarrent talking about birthday cake and such, "Sorry I'm late, was helpimg with Amara," I smiled as I slightly squeezed her hand, "May I please have a quick catch-up?" I walked into the room and sat down on the table as was everyone, so, I just copied. I pulled a chair up for the little girl and smiled.

Amara sat on the chair and looked around the room. Half the room seemed to be holding back laughter, and the other half looked truly worried.

"Of course," Tarrant said, and called on one of the students. That student gave a quick recap of the, rather odd, lecture. "Very good," Tarrant said, then hesitated, "And now... I didn't really think past that lecture much. So... How about we have a little power tournement?" He clapped his hands together and the classroom appeared to transform into an arena.

Crimson shuddered, "Thanks Mr Hightop. Tae Quon Do versus super strength," she rolled her eyes, readying her stance as the kid tried to grab her; it wasn't gonna hurt unless she got grabbed, until then she had to dodge it. She rolled out of the way as he made a grab at her, dodging, she kicked him down, his facw hitting the floor.
"That wasn't very nice now, was it?" his words were cocky.
"Bring it on Drake," Scarlett smiled as he went for her again, her doing to same, but with her palm. As she did she felt something like an electric shock writh up her hand, but it was weird, like that and like she was burning. She looked down to her hand to see it glowing slightly. By that time Drake had her held by the arms, swining her around. With a slight reflex, as he tossed her, she landed on her feet as she hit the wall.
"Now, I try," she leapt off and kicked him down, harder thn she's ever done before, she even made a dent in the floor from where he was hit.
"Surprise!" he shouted; the code word to stop immediatly, "How did you do that?"
She shrugged, if Scarlett knew she would have done it earlier.

Tarrant and Amara sat and watched. Amara, because she was terrified. Tarrant, because this was good entertainment. He watched as Scarlett executed a wonderfully powerful move. It seemed almost mutant, in fact. He figured that, this was the sort of development Charles had told him to moniter the students for. He made a mental note to visit Charles first thing after class. At the moment, though, he was bored. "And now," he said, "Your archnemisis has invited you on a hike along the Amazon river. You must fight in the rainforest." He snapped his fingers, and the arena turned into a lush rainforest.

(just like that? I'm loving him! And also I thought EVERYONE was mutant?)

Scarlett turned around to see the fireman infront of her, his hands already blazing. Her mind was swearing... a lot. Oh well, if not then she could sit on the side.
"Let's see ya battle this one," his voice was almost serpent like. Scarleet sighed and calmed herself; this was gonna be tricky, but not impossible. With a focused centre, he threw the first ball of fire, narrowly missing her leg. She realised that if she didn't keep moving she'd be dead.

(@OTD: Yes, Tarrant is awesome. Smile And, yeah, everyone's a mutant. But, from what I understood, Scarlett's powers weren't anything that enable her to do something like that without knowing it. Basically, the power behind it seemed like mutant power. If that makes sense.
@Gifted: You could be in Hightopp's class. Just jump in the little fighting tournament that's going on.)

(*clears throat* I shall give you option through song!
You can be late to class you silly girl
Or you could have been with Ryan watched him hurl
You could be looking for Amara
But please don't scare 'er
Because she's only new

You could be lost on your way
Or you could be bunking this very bad day
Or you could be skipping
And watching the fight so gripping
But I don't have a clue!)

Sapphire: I hopped off the tree and started to fly. Bending the air currents so I would go strait for a wile. I kept flying for a wile, untill I had no idea where I was going anymore. I saw a huge building and landed, hopefully no one was here and saw me.
