She whimpered and cried into her husband's chest, hunched over slightly.

Finally, all wounds seemed to be closed up. His chakra levels appeared to be stable, his heartbeat and breathing normal.

Sai hugged her, tears glistening in his eyes.

Nite bit her lip, This isn't fair, she thought, these two don't deserve all of this.

The two women pulled their hands back, sweat glistening on their skin. Sakura smoothed back Ryou's hair when he weakly opened his eyes. "Hi, Aunt Sakura..Uncle Naruto...Ino-sama." They smiled at him.
"Rest, Ryou. You need it."
The boy nodded and instantly fell asleep.

Sakura walked to them. All eyes went to her. She smiled gently. "He's going to be okay," she spoke in relief, smiling when Ayumi's eyes lit up the way they used to. Before she knew it, her arms were around her, hugging her tightly and carefully. Sakura hugged her back. "Unfortunately, you can't see him right now. We just need to make sure he's fully stable."
