I sighed, my hand loosening in Blane's as I leaned my head on his shoulder. I felt exhausted still and I knew I still needed to heal from my father's doing but I understood the consequences that would come with it if I said what my father has been doing to me ever since my mother's death.

I continued to sob as I told Blane everything about the past 10 years. “My father’s been beating me for 10 years and I want him to stop hurting me but he won’t.” I closed my eyes and fully sobbed, tears sliding out of my eyes rapidly.
