"So my family did adopt her?" he asked, it was true. He had teased her when she was younger, because he thought she was cute. And it was okay because they weren't really related. "I don't think my parents ever really liked me, as much as they did my sisters," he looked at Synthia unable to believe that she really was the girl he though looked familiar in his memories.

Crepsley nodded sadly. " they wanted daughters but got a son. I'm sorry landy but it's the facts. Synthia was adopted into your family because she looked like your mother and your parents wanted another daughter. That's why they moved and then just came all that closer to the cirque. " he told them raising an eyebrow.

Synthia looked at Landy and smiled a sort of sad yet happy smile. " I'm sorry I guess maybe your parents would have liked you better if I wasn't there." she mumbled. Synthia looked at crepsley then, " but the fire that killed my parents, was it an accident? The orphanage said it was arsenal when I came in." she asked crepsley her eyes demanding.
Crepsley's smile vanished, " if you're asking if I did this then it is a no. I had nothing to do with your parents death. "

"Wait, they died?" Landy was not aware of this, of course by this time he had already been with the cirque for a while it seems. He then looked at Synthia, "No, you their or not they always preferred girls. I was the oldest, and a blip on their record. God, I hated them," he gave her a look of remorse, "I know I was mean, but I was mad at them for adopting a third girl, and well I think puppy love has played its part now."
He then repeated his earlier statement sort of, "They died, in a fire?" He then took a random guess, "Was it Rigby?"

Crepsley opened and closed him mouth, thought for a wile and then opened it again, " he had some help. He was young for one and they had a gas leak or something like that." was all crepsley said not wanting to break bonds of friendship that had grown over years so quickly or easily.

Synthia looked shocked, Rigby had been near her family and she had lived escaping from a fire somehow. That was a memory that didn't come back to her, still a black cloud that she would rather not have go away.

"I knew I liked him." Landy half chuckled. But the boy he saw. He had a bad feeling about him. One that he felt when he thought of the way Mr. Tiny looked at him.

Crepsley looked up at the sky. " it's almost sun rise good morning." he said and walked into the tent and then went to lie in his coffin. Somehow he had dragged it with the tent and chairs out here.

Synthia looked at landy, " you're thinking about that boy aren't you? He has or had strange eyes." she said to landy her eyes seeming distant as she thought of the memory.

Landy thought back, thinking about it he wasn't even sure if it was the same boy, "I don't know, maybe but I don't know if I saw the same boy twice. I just know they had brown hair."

Synthia nodded, " I only saw one boy, and for a short time he left soon after I arrived. Maybe he was the thing Mr. Crepsley was mad with Mr. Tiny about. We remember him but Crepsley doesn't," she sujested shrugging, " puppy love huh?" she asked laughing and raising an eyebrow.

"Maybe." he said. He then got really embarrassed, "Boys always have reasons behind their teasing. I'm just lucky it got masked by my jealousy."

Synthia laughed, " I always looked forward to school, no offense, but I was terrified of you," she told him grinning. " somehow I knew that you where all right though." she winked at him still grinning.

"I just can't believe it was you." he ran his hand through his hair which already looked normal. He wasn't electing it and had a look of shock on his face.

Synthia smiled, " its easy for me to tell, you are still the same in many ways as you where back then." she said laughing for a few seconds as she began to itch her arm again.

He raised an eyebrow, "Really?"
Then his pupils dilated, he smelled human. "Some one is out their." he said, a hunger coming on again.

Synthia held her breath. If she smelled someone she didn't know if she could hold herself back. Looking at Landy her eyes widened, if he ran off then she wouldn't be able to hold her breath and run after him and if she lost control what would Landy do?

Landy's fists clenched as he tried to control himself. But the smell was strong. He had to go after it. It was so hard for him to not run.

Synthia shook her head and closed her eyes tightly hoping that would help somehow. She knew she would have to take a breath soon and then would come the hardest time.

Landy couldn't control it. He sprinted off, trying to find the person. He prayed he wouldn't kill them, but he could make no promises.

Synthia heard him sprinting off and started to run after him. She took a breath and instantly her mind went haywire and she ran after Landy but not chasing him, chasing the smell.

Landy heard footsteps, not his own or what he was chasing. He turned and saw Synthia. It hit him he couldn't do this. The smell drew him on but he turned and grabbed on to Synthia, stopping her.

Synthia struggled before she saw who it was and instantly stopped. Her mind came back to herself and she hugged Landy tightly. " thank you," she said to him.

He shook his head. Holding onto her was the only thing keeping him from going after the human himself. It kept his mind occupied.

Synthia could tell the human was leaving slowly and gripped Landy tightly waiting for the smell to get far enough away.

When Landy couldn't smell it anymore, he gripped Synthia closer, "Thanks." he said. Knowing for a short while he was able to control himself.

Synthia nodded smiling up at Landy, " we both saved each other it seems," she pointed out softly. Her heart rate slowed down and she took a deep breath happy to be able to do that. How would they learn to control the urge? She was wondering as she smiled at landy.

Landy kissed her. Still holding onto her they walked back to the camp Mr. Crepsley set up. "How do you think Haily and Rigby are doing?"

Synthia thought for a moment, " I don't know rigby is probably resting and haily, well she can hang out with some of the other cirque kids. She's flexible. " she said her head tilted slightly to the left side her hair very long and annoying. The itching was there but she ignored it as she looked for scissors.
