"Thank the gods," he said. He saw the horse almost walking on the water ready to come to his aide. But his guard was down and Lupa attacked him from the back so he face planted the water. He was soaking wet in places he didn't hink could be soaking wet even for a person who wasn't son o the sea god. Lupa dug her claws in his back. Griffin mustered enough strength to throw her off. The water making a vortex around him. He pulled out riptide and was jutted towards the wolf slashing at her two front paws. He quickly capped riptide again and started to zig zag in the water hoping to confuse the she wolf.

The horse had an internal clock because after thirty minutes she galloped across the water. Griffin swung himself up like only professional stunt men could do. He was weak, and exhausted. He focus now was to outrun Lupa and confuse her with the occasional attack saving his energy. Not to mention he kept looking over the dunes to see if the sun came up. Lupa came for him but he was ready. A wall of water went from behind Griffin straight down on top of her.
Griffin maneuvered Ginny back to the beach wear for the horse the land was a bit more firm. One on the dry land though even with a horse made out of the sea, his exhaustion was even more noticeable. He knew he wasn't ready for this, he would have died early on if it wasn't for his Achiles curse.
His arm was still bleeding he guessed the deeper wounds took longer to heal.

"You will fail Greek half blood." Lupa growled.
Griffin looped around uncapping riptide he galloped past and took a swing at her side. He had a feelin she was going hard really hard on him because he was Greek that or she like so many other people were not happy with the fact he was directly related to two gods and The Hero of the previous great prophecy.
The beach itself was bloody, mostly Griffin's and the water also had a small tint of red to it, also Griffin's.

Rory had fallen asleep in the lobby, she was gently leaning on David.

Corrie was watching from her window after what Mark had told her she couldn't sleep. Griffin was proving himself though. He was showing where he belonged, to her at least he was showing who was in charge of this quest. Not to mention when he road the horse he looked mighty fine. Being a cowboy was obviously in his blood. Griffin was probably the first Poseidon kid to be more attatched to horses than anything.

Griffin looked at the dunes. He never wanted to see the sun so badly. But this night seemed prolonged, as if Apollo didn't want to drive his yellow maserati across the sky because he didn't want a new day to begin because he didn't want to really say goodbye to his favorite son.
Griffin never prayed to Apollo before but now half his energy was going into that while the other half was still focussed on steering the white stallion and fighting off Lupa. His arm still hurt and I made it harder for him to control the reigns so he focused more on controlling the horse with his legs.

Rory shifted a little as if she were having a bad dream.

Corrie watched out her window. Griffin definitely was son of the sea god.

Griffin then remembered his trident he did some skillful and quick one handed capping of his pen. He lept over Lupa and took the trident eraser out of his pocket. A large sharp pole could help push the wolf away. He gave the eraser a squeeze and soon a trident was in his hand. And for a split second with his wet hair looming darker, for a split second he looked like Poseidon as he reared up the horse and went towards Lupa like he was jousting.

Rory shifted again digging her head deeper in the crevice of David's arm.

During the charge, Griffin twirled the trident just like he did with his sword, a Nast habit he would probably never break. As he caught it firmly he took a swing and whacked Lupa upside the head with it. She flew into the water but with in seconds was charging at Griffin again. He took Ginny up on the dune and then jumped off as Lupa was climbing up.

Rory looked up sleepily at David, as she was woken up.

Griffin turned Ginny on a dime and was now facing Lupa. He looked at the horizon still no light. He galloped down the beach Lupa behind. He then tied the reigns to the saddle turned around and was now riding the horse backward.
Lupa nipped at the horses legs but he stuck her muzzle with the prongs of the trident making her back off.
He turned back around also turning Ginny aroun. He gave Lupa another whack on the side again knocking her into the water. For the second that she was down Grifdin looked at his arm, he almost threw up and wished Foster was there to help it heal.

Rory nodded, and took a glance outside the window the first rays of light were appearing. "Yeah." She would tell him about her dream if he asked.

Griffin saw the rays of sunlight. He let out a yell of happiness to see the sun knowing the worst night of his life was finally over, and it was yell of exaustion. He was ready to collapse.
Lupa calmly walked out of the sea, "You did well for a Greek." She gave one last snarling bark and walked off disappearing.
Griffin trotted up to Amaria he pulled her onto the horse, with his good hand.
Then they galloped to the hotel.

Corrie saw this through her window and ran through the lobby.

At the front of the hotel. Griffin helped Amaria off the horse and got off himself but when his feet touched the land he crumbled. The horse bowed saying it would be there when Griffin needed her.
"Amaria," Griffin said his vision getting fuzzy. He was exhausted weak and not to mention his arm was still bad though slowly healing. "I don't... I don..." he stopped the exhaustion getting to him and he fell to the ground.

Amaria caught her friend, looping one arm over her shoulders as she dragged him inside with a grin.

David followed her with a smile.

"Oh my gods!" Corrie yelled, "He's dead isn't he?" her face turned anger, "Why are smiling, Amaria this isnt a smiling matter!?"

Rory looked at David worried.

Griffin was out he needed rest probably more than he ever had even when he was bit by the pit scorpian, the scar of which was still faintly on his hand.

Corrie breathed a sigh of relief, "I caught glimpses from my window, but how'd he do." she was hungry for the details of the battle.

Rory released the breath she was holding, "And what was with the horse, where did he get it from?" She knew Griffin was natural with horses, which made the Demeter and Aphrodite kids mad at camp when he was better with the pegasi than them. But a horse in in San Francisco seemed a bit odd.

Amaria nodded. "He had a rough time about midway though he was ready to colapse, and we aren't sure where the horse came from. Just formed outa see foam before the battle.He'd have been toast without it."

"Why was it rough midway through?" Corrie asked. She had never seen fighting on a horse so her next question was even more exciting for her, "Did he fight while he rode the horse?" She almost squeaked with now, bit kept her cool.

Rory thought about the horse. "His dad must have sent it. Though our parents can't help us directly." If Griffin wasn't out cold she would have asked him a question. But Griffin looked exausted even in his sleep.

Rory had a new found respect for Griffin. She couldn't imagine what he went through. But she did wish she could have really seen the fight. No doubt Nark already knew the outcome. Corrie looked at Griffin he must have been some sight as he rode in the saddle. She wondered if he used Riptide, or his trident, or no weapon at all. But those might have been questions for him and he was not feeling up to talking at the moment. "We should probably get him out of the lobby, he might attract unwanted visitors.

Foster was traveling cross country faster than he ever had before. But he would be back in California soon. things were stirring and he knew his reward was greater than anything he could have done previously. He wasn't compared to any one and he didn't have to worry about the snobby gods loolong down on him and using him like a pawn.

David looked at Aiden who was the strongest vonscious male present. "WHat?" The boy said but saw the look and siged. "Fine..." and went to help her.

Corrie had his room key. "How long you think he'll be out?"
Rory got up and followed, "What happened to his arm, I thought bathing in Styx meant you couldn't be hurt?"
The gash that covered most of his forearm was disgusting, but if one looked closely one could see it healing. If one looked at the bruises all over him, they were going away.

AMaria nodded. "I think that, the more exauhsted you are, then the longer it takes to heal. And he'll be out cold...until he wakes up. And I want someone keeping an eye on him at all time in case he goes into shock or his wound gets infected."

"I got first watch." Corrie said, she quietly added, "The one time Foster would be of use..." and trailed off.
Rory sighed she guessed the quest was on hold till the leader of it was better.
