Elena bounced up and down in her seat as her mom finally pulled into the school's parking lot. Could her mom shut the car off any slower? Even before the car came to a quiet stop Elena was out and opening the back, digging out her air blade, rifle, and practice flag. The school marching band had plenty of color guard equipment, but Elena liked her own equipment better. Elena grabbed one of her duffle bags and slung it across her shoulder before jetting toward the school building, throwing a, "Get the rest of my stuff!" at her mom. She was finally at band camp!

Lexi sat bored in the car while Justin drove, "Justin why do I have to go to this? I thought I wasn't allowed to be in band next year at school."

"You aren't but you are allowed in color guard thus you must come," Justin smiled teasing his best friend. Once they arrived Justin parked in the only field that had parking left, both of them grabbed there bags, instruments, and some of Lexi's practice gear.

(at a camp. at my school they make us go to a camp out in the middle of nowhere haha. thats why i stopped taking band )

Lauren parked her car, and got her stuff, her baton bag, duffels, flute case. Randy was getting out of his red truck. "Lauren do you need help?" Getting out his trumpet case, and his own duffel.
Lauren grabbed her green northface back pack and said, "No I got it. Thanks though, Randy" The two seniors headed into the building.

Lexi and Justin walk towards the building. Lexi revealed her fear as they walked.

"Well that doesn't mean I wont help." Randy said taking her bag.
Lauren rolled her eyes, as she held the door open for him. "Do you kno w the music yet?" she asked.
"Nope director will give it to me hopefully today" He took pride in being the conductor. Their marching band had won state the past two years. "How is twirling different from colour guard?"
"Colour guard for me is backwards from everything I do." She stated. "Plus our routines and outfits are different."

Lexi saw her old friends and hid behind Justin.

Elena loved the small building that the band students always practiced in. The ceiling was only high enough for a small flag toss and the room was only wide enough for two flag girls to be side by side. Elena sat down her practice gear in the corner of the room, making sure her name was on each piece, so there would be no confusion. She would bring her flute and piccollo in later just in case the band teacher would want her to use them. Elena looked over her shoulder and finally saw people coming.

Lexi and Justin walked slowly towards the practice building.

Randy put Lauren's stuff down. "Now we wait for the director," he said.
"And we could talk to people while we wait." Lauren said. "And I know you could care less if their under class me. So dont go using that excuse again." she smiled.

Elena turned around at the sound of Randy's voice. "Randy! Lauren!" Elena screamed and ran with open arms to hug them.

"Hey." Lauren hugged her back. "How was your summer?"
Randy smiled, "Sup?"
Lauren turned to him. "Stop trying to sound cool, cause your failing."
Randy laughed and smiled.

Elena couldn't help but laugh at them. "My summer was fine. What about yours? Have you started making your baton routine yet?"

"Yep but my coach will help me more when we get the music." Lauren said.
"My summer was soccer camps then football camp." he said, realizing that two-a-days were coming up sooner than he would have preferred.

Lexi and Justin walked towards Elena.
"What's up?" Justin asked cockily.

Elena thought, being a senior this year, that she would be over the feeling of seeing a guy and butterflies coming to her stomach. But Justin had tended to have this effect on her ever since their sophmore year. She simply flipped her hair and said, "Hey, Justin."
