Is it just me or have people gotten a lot more selfish on Inkpop?

Every time I manage to convince myself to try and swap I try to get onto "What's your story?" to find people who want to swap.
Yet I mostly see people who post threads just to beg people to pick their books.

They'll advertise the book, sure, and ask for "Free Reads". But what ever happened to a common exchange? We all want our work to do well, but the least we can do is help others by reading their work in return for them to read ours.

Don't get me wrong, free reads are nice to get. But when you make a thread advertising your work, then when someone asks for a swap and you go "I'm not swapping right now..." That's just not fair. How can you expect something from someone for nothing?

I might just be cynacle right now, and if you've done something like that in the past I'm not condemning you or anything. Really I'm just venting, but who knows...there might be some merit in my frustration.

Yeah, inkpop seriously has changed, everyone can see that. There's way more negativity and moodiness (hippy moment) and the main few what I call big names over there

They're all dominating the threads in my opinion whilst I just get ignored! It's rather annoying when you want your view to be noticed and they go on there and be complete big-headed donkeys! Is it against the law for an inkie minor to get a little bit of notice?! Sure'y not! *takes deep breathes*
Also they're hypocrites *mutters to self to stop*
Swap threads are also taking over, they're okay in small doses but I don't want them overloaded. To be honest at some levels they're just as annoying as they say CCers are.
Either way, my plugging threads to ask kind people if they'd like to see my lovely lil' book fails because I usually only get a single reply if that!

P.S. Venting is good, I needed that to be honest...

Anyways, to be honest I hardly ever go on there now, just for updating my book (plug plug) and generally seeing what's happening aka not much though I do sometimes go on a few threads just to see how badly I can get ignored *wail*

I needed that venting, I'm behind on homework and I've lost my school bag and so can't do anything!!! It's uber annoying and my English teacher is gonna have my head on a platter...

i only update my books now.. i mean the comments they put on there is nasty and i mean i ask nicly that they read my things about me cause my stupid dyslexia aint helpen to much... D:

It isn't your fault, some people can be rather arrogant.

If you get Google Chrome it has a built in spell-checker so it helps with spelling (it's kinda like the thing on word aka red line = spelling mistake) though you don't get the whole caboodle.

yea well my problem is backwadrs letters and weird numbers.. i like retype everything like 5 times.... even my books.. and i just lost my editor so my book aren'y so hot any more...

nice i can't get on inkpop tho, it takes 3 hours for it to load! but not with anything else... and my work is on my laptop which is in the shop because it keeps shuting down.. * bangs head on table... * Wait! its on my gmail!!

Lolz I'm a little late again O.o, but yea I joined and people were really nice, (And it loaded faster then 6 hours) and I made a couple friends, but the competition is extremely high there now so everyone is looking for the people that are on inkpop to read and not really write. I never did swaps in the first place >.> I said if you wanted to read warrior Valley then go right ahead you know where to click, if you wanted me to read your book though you could leave it, I'd take a look at it, if I liked, I'd read it, if not... Well pretty much... yea. But I never made promises to read it all the way through O.o xp.

I too am guilty of simply going on there to update warrior valley and my endless supply of quotes book, and to occasionally check out any arguments going on in the forums and see if anyone had any communication with me since I left last lol.

I've stopped going to inkpop... i hung out with the big names and they did nothing for me only traded with the other big names. I was like by... I'm on a new writing site now.. where yeah their are big names but no book shelves no top fives and it's alot more relaxed and alot less advertising for other stuff... and swaps stay in the swap threads.

So yeah don't really go onto inkpop anymore... the stuff i have their is never noticed so whats the point. And I'm sure if I went back and said I'm back no one would remember me at all.

Also, I just checked out my account on Inkpop. I was not missed. In the 110+ days that I've been gone I've had nothing. I might go on there one last time and delete my stuff on there :/ And I never got any thanks for my comments (even when I've just read the first two chapters in books, I have done many comments 400-750 words long when they have left me ones with just 100 with no construstive critisms). It has gotten too much about the competition and I've spoken and intergrated with a few of the big names there >_<

I swear, I spend a lot of the day doing a comment, doing over 1500 words on it, completely in depth and all I didn't get a thanks >_< I think I give up on that site.

But! I am now on figment and I think it's way easier than inkpop, especially with uploading projects... I might have to get onto this one more ;D
