June: I grimace. "Hey, it's not called slavery when you my best friend," I say, grinning at her as the lights go down. Someone lightly kicks my chair from behind and I glare at the screen, ignoring it for a moment. Then I take a handful of popcorn and toss it over my shoulder at them. When they do nothing in return, I smile in satisfaction, chewing happily on my buttered popcorn.

June: I shrug, then half smile over at Autumn in the dark. "Shh...the movie's starting." I really hope that whoever I threw that popcorn at, is really nice. I have this sudden urge to look over my shoulder, but I don't. I'll just peek when the movie's over.

June: After the movie's over, I stand up and stretch, trying to shake that numb feeling after I've sat too long. Then I try to shake the feeling of being watched off. I turn to look down at Autumn. She has that little pucker in between her brows when she's really thinking. I nudge her with a foot.
"Yo, movies over. I'm gonna call Nevan to pick us up." He was my driver-slash-body guard. He was like a ninja. Seriously. I jangle my way with Autumn in tow as we make it through the crowds of people to the lobby. I start to look out the window for Nevan's car when something hits me in the back of the head. I whip around, eyes narrowed.
"Who--"
It's the guy from before. Blondie. And his buddies. Oh boy, he don't look so happy.
"Um, hey. I remember you...from the line.." I trail off, looking to Autumn for help.
(this is just part of it, just wait for it...)

"What are you talking about?" Oh my gosh. That was him? He rolls his eyes, arms crossed. "Oh hey, there's our ride!" I let Autumn tug me along until we're outside. Jeez, that was a close one--
"Hey! Wait up! We're not done here!"
Why is he calling attention to us? WHy? Is he mental? Must be. "Ignore him, ignore him," I murmur to myself. Then someone grabs my arm. I jump, my heart jumping up my throat at the same time.
"Hey, I'm not done talking to you." He says, his eyes narrowed. I look around.
"Um...yeah you--"
"Aren't you two adorable!" A group of girls giggle. I groan.
"We're not a couple!"
"Yeah, I'd never go out with you." He snorts. Wait...what?
"What's that supposed to mean?" I demand, glaring at him. He looks to me, giving me a weird look.
"I mean, your rank--"
"What about it? Too low for you?" I taunt dangerously, knowing I'm right on the edge. He glares right back now.
"I'm Rivanna Klein's secret boyfriend. I don't need another--" A gunshot rings out. I freeze, my blood running cold. Then Blondie here starts to stumble, his eyes wide. He clutches at his side, and my eyes zoom in on the blood oozing from it. But the only thought on my mind is that we're screwed. We can't be seen with someone with that high of rank! We're dead, oh god, we're dead. He stumbles forward, one hand gripping my shoulder tightly.
"Help me,' He gasps. I just stare back. What am I supposed to do now?

I close my eyes, murmuring profanities to myself before getting in and helping the poor guy up. I brush back his bangs. He looks pretty pale. "You better not die," I mutter.
