Lillian Elf: "Hold on guys this is Falcon base, we're running diagnostics on all systems, either surveillance is down or we have ghost speakers on the communicators. Surveillance is denying what communications is saying. Standby."

Kyle: My head snapped back to her. Ulister's followed.

Lillian Elf: "Uhm, Dacta base can you verify what communications is saying? We're finding no errors in surveillance."
Drake Elf: "Negative, our glasses are clear."
Lillian Elf: "Falcon base to Vail base, please confirm the same question."
Shadow Elf: "We've got no attacks on our end that we can see, but we do have some phantom dots on our surveillance screen. We'll check errors."
Lillian Elf: "All advancement and defensive forces please take note, we may have an error somewhere, please report all Nationalists movement."

[Cali]

I flinched, more and more memories flowing through my head. I whimpered curling into a ball and clutching my head.

[Freedom_Elite]

Kyle: I went over to her, and sat next to her. "The past isn't the future. What happened is done, and it normally will make you stronger. Running from it will do you no good, but dwindling in it will only hurt you." Ulister smiled, he was the one that said those words to me. Only yesterday to be exact, shortly after dinner had ended.
(OMG isn't it hard to believe only 1 day has gone by in the story? I thought about that and I'm like WTF!?)

(OMG WHAT! I thought it's been like a week. x.x so much has happened LOL!!)

I whimpered, "No matter what I do to forget I always remember." I laughed weakly and harshly, "It doesn't matter anymore. I've already witnessed horrible things in a matter of 15 minutes and I still can't believe that they happened." I looked up at him, my face flushed and scared, eyes filled with tears and the whites of my eyes tinted red. I looked down, not wanting Kyle to see me like this. I felt weak and Matt was right. I can't protect anyone, I can't.

(Lol I was thinking it was like at least 4 days, but I looked back, and so far our entire story has happened in 1 day, we had supper, then the battle started, and its been going on since.)

"Well... Maybe there's a line and you just haven't found it yet." I was pretty much copying Ulister, word for word. I had been saying close to the same thing to him after seeing Alice at supper. I finally had something of my own to say. "A good friend of mine used to tell me something. I don't fully remember it, but it basically meant to watch your friends, they'll weaken you so you can be stronger then them."

[Cali]

I looked up at him, then nodded, understanding. "Ky, I don't know what to do anymore." Tears slid but I wiped them away with shaking hands.

[Freedom_Elite]

Kyle: "I can't really help you with what to do, cause I barely know myself. But cheering up is probably a good place to start." I half-smiled at her.

[Cali]

I smiled and nodded. I looked up at him and even a half smile was all I needed to know that Ulister was right. I was the only that could bring his memories back. "Ky, what do you remember?"

Kyle: I turned my head to look at Ulister, but he was gone. I heard gun shots and then a large blast, which silenced the gunshots. The wind had picked up greatly, and I looked behind me to the Nationalists base. Fire was all I could see. I chuckled a little, "Such a hasty old man." I said turning his comment towards Alice against him.

[Cali]

I smiled a little, "I guess but I'm a little hastier." I laughed softly. I saw the fire and I immediately was brought to tears. It reminded me of the death of my whole pack. I hugged my knees and felt like howling a wolf song of grief and sadness, I wanted to, but I couldn't.

Kyle: I looked at her, "Whats wrong Alice?"

[Cali]

"My pack was killed not too long ago. Like 15 minutes ago. I went over to our pack land and there was only bodies, blood and fire." Tears slid out of my eyes as I look at Kyle. "They were my family, they took me in shortly after I told you I hated you and ran away. I promised to protect them but I couldn't." I look down, "I'm not strong enough. I can't protect anybody." I hugged my knees tighter as I heard Matt's words in my head. "The group from school, the ones that beat me up in 6th grade...They were there too."

Kyle: "Hmm." I had to think for a minute. "Well, perhaps you can think of that as revenge or something." I looked back at it again. "Seems like we finally might have won this battle. You want some help getting back to base? I'm sure Akahana, Jasmine, and the lady can handle themselves." I stood up and offered my hand to her.

[Cali]

I looked up at him then at his hand. I nodded and gently took it. I pulled myself up staggering a little.

Kyle: As I turned to walk back to the base, I remembered something. "Hey Alice? May I ask something?"

[Cali]

"Um, Sure. What is it?" I ask worriedly.

[Freedom_Elite]

Kyle: "Back at the cave..." I breathed out and paused. "Since theres no one to interrupt us this time..." I kept pausing. I wasn't sure if it was cause I was scared or if it was because I didn't know how to say it. "Didn't you want to tell me something, and my mother interrupted you?" I finally said, trying to get it over with so I would stop looking like an idiot to her.

[Cali]

I blushed furiously then looked down, remembering. I nodded, "But I don't know if it'll matter." 'Cause you might not feel the same way about me as I do about you anyways and if I tell you then i'll just be making a complete fool of myself.... I added to myself then shortly after, I realized that I had said it out loud. My blush went deeper, my breathing ragged and scared a little.

Kyle: Having A feeling she didn't want to say that out loud, I decided it'd probably be the best idea to leave it alone. I tried to make it seem as though I didn't hear her, "You okay?"

[Cali]

I frowned. He heard me, there was no denying that. I mean, my voice was loud enough. I looked up at him, the blush not going away. "I know you heard me." I say, voice cracking.

[Freedom_Elite]

Kyle: "And I'm giving you the chance to pretend I didn't." I was trying keep a gentle voice.

[Cali]

"But that's the thing! I can't pretend! What I said was the truth, Okay? But if you want the gods honest answer I was going to tell you that I like you. Happy? I told you what I've wanted to tell you for a while. I like you Kyle. More than a friend. I care for you so much and I always have ever since we became friends then best friends." My voice softened to a whisper, eyes filling with more and more tears as they spilled, not stopping.

[Freedom_Elite]

Kyle: I started walking again. "I haven't been happy for a long time now Alice. Lets get to the base before the gates close." Memories were attacking my mind. I couldn't sort them out to even understand them.

[Cali]

I stood there wide eyed and shocked.

Kyle: I noticed her face. "I need to think for a while Alice. I can't with these memories attacking me at random like they are now. You spoke of change, then you spoke of happiness. Did you expect a happy response? I've lived a life where people constantly try to kill me, I thought a girl I liked hated me to the point I forced the Drake's Magician to force my memories to leave me so I could keep going, then to top it off, I join a losing army and meet that girl again." I tried to seem calm but there was a pitch in my voice. I sighed, "Alice, please... I'm not myself right now. Something's wrong and I can't figure it out."

Tears welled up and spilled once again. "Then let me help. Please." I begged softly.
