I finally tore my gaze away from the hooded figures, tears blurring my vision as I looked down at Kyle. I set him down gently before jumping up and running out, holding in the pain filled sobs wanting to leave me.

Right: A female's voice came, "As your gift from the 3 Drake gods, we will give you eternal life for your bravery..."
Left: "Invincibility for your loyalty..."
Front: "And love, for your kindness."
All: "Now Kyle, you will live to the end of days, 'Priest' of the the Drakeish elves."

(woah. tht seems like it would make an amazing movie scene. lol)

Something in the shadows was nagging at me, telling me to go back but I knew it wouldn't change anything. Kyle would still be dead and he would never know all of the things I've wanted to tell him, but was too afraid to say.

All: "We will hear you, destiny will await you, friends will strengthen you, but only you can choose how you let them affect you."

Kyle: I could hear what they were saying, 'LEIRAH' I thought to myself, 'Mother, your here, no longer as the priestess, but a goddess.' I had to stay though, I knew it. I couldn't leave my friends, not in a time like this. Friends... It was so odd to say that word.

Front: "Your wish has been given, Uliester will guard you forever with his might. I will give you the power of the elements, and when the time comes, your mother will welcome you home again, but as not only a son, but a priest to the entire race."

Alice buried her face into her arms as they rested on her knees. Her tears had stopped as she accepted the horrible fact that Kyle was dead. She felt the shadows around her closing in, applying pressure to all sides. She didn't care though. She looked up, the shadows trying to tell her something. She watched, blank faced, as a white wolf with red eyes appeared before her. "Hello Alice." the wolf said to her.
"Alcide, I have to make a request before you ask." She said, her voice rough and thick with grief.
He nodded, "What is it?"
She let out a saddened breath, "Will you take over the pack?"
He blinked, "I don't understand."
She looked into his red eyes, her green ones dim with grief and shattered hope. "I'm ordering you to take over the pack. No exceptions. You are the new alpha. May the great spirits watch over you." she said, her voice softening at the end.
He nodded, "As with you, Alice Cross."
She watched as Alcide disappeared, returning to packground. The place where she once called it Home.
