Kody: The house -- or rather, mansion, really -- wasn't that bad. My room was much bigger, and i had a gorgeous view of the ocean, and..
who am i kidding? it's horrible. it just shows how much more lonely around here it's going to be. i sit at the large island in the middle of the kitchen and twirl a straw in the chocolate milkshake our maid -- which is also strange because she's not the kind of maid/cook or whatever that talks to you -- made for me. alone. in a huge empty kitchen. i realized it echos in here... i frown when the voices of my mom and her colleagues start to pound in my head like a headache. i ignore them as they file into the kitchen, laughing.

another thing i've noticed; ever since we got here, which was two days ago, my color changing hair has been black. how great.

"Honey, do you remember Jason?" My mom asks, sounding cheerful for the first time i can remember.
"Unfortunately, yeah." I mumble, gnawing on the tip of my straw out of annoyance.
"Well, would you take him on a tour of the garden while i talk to everyone else?"
Ahh, another distinction. there's me...and then there's 'everyone else'.
"Why not." I say, sliding off the stool and grabbing Jason's sleeve. i drag him out the door. and leave him there. i start walking for the garden -- which is also huge.
"Where are you--"
"Are you coming or what?" i snap, not stopping to wait for him.
"Uh, yeah.."
He's such an idiot.

Kody: "Well this is the garden." i say blandly, stopping in the middle of the maze of hedges. just like in the movies, eh? But i've memorized the way.
Right. left. straight. keep going...keep going..right. right. left. straight, right again..
and you're out. how fun was that? ha. right.
"So, do you like it here?" Jason's voice sounds tense. forcing small talk, i wouldn't have expected more out of him.
"Honestly? No," i say, looking over at him. He's just a few inches taller than me.
"Oh. Ok."
And then i keep walking, hoping i can lose him in this maze. I can't. he's still behind me when i turn around to check.

Alaric : It had been days now. I lay in bed, clutching my pillow as if my life depended on it. I bit at it hard, my ears drooping and my ears full of tears. Sobs no longer rose out my past my chest and out my mouth but i felt them overwhelming me inside. Jonathan...dad....kody...irvin...they all left me...

well, i've been warned; here we go:

Doorman: I clear my throat, feeling bad about not giving him the present from Ms. Kody. "Mr. Alaric?" I call calmly, the panda in hand.

Alaric : I went quietly to the door. My expression blank of emotion. I looked at the man with the toy in his hand and arched a brow.

Doorman: I clear my throat again uncomfortably. "Ms. Kody left this for you. i insist that you take it," I say, holding the toy out to him.

Alaric : I take it with out another word.

Kody:
"Look, i can tell you're a little depressed about moving--"
"Oh really? I'm not too obvious, now am i?" I ask sarcastically.
"Ok, a lot depressed," he grumbles. "But i'm sure you'll get over it."
"Hm, and i trust you why?" I scratch my chin and pretend to think about it before ditching him there and heading for the pond.
"Hey!"
I sit down next to the cattails, the slight cool breeze making them sway gently.
"Um, i'm guessing you probably don't want me here.."
"right you are, smart one," I mutter, glaring out at the water.
"Ok, i will, i promise. I just want you to know that i don't agree with your mom. she shouldn't have forced you out here. I'm on your team." he says simply before standing up and walking off back towards the house. i don't move.
that's gotta be first. someone on team Kody for once. i sigh, closing my eyes and trying to forget everything.

Doorman: I bow to him lightly before turning back to my post outside the door. "have a good day, Mr. Alaric."

Alaric : I glare at the toy for a long moment before walking to the office room and dumping it in the trash. Angry runs in my blood along with everything else...But i don't know what to do.
