Irvin : Kids were so hard to talk to sometimes. I sighed a little. "He just doesn't want to. We should be nice and understanding and not ask him anymore, okay?" I say, kneeling to get to her eye level.

Evelyn: meh...all talk of the butterfly had all but disappeared. Uninterested, I went back to climbing. I reached the fourth branch and pulled onto it, but when I started for the fifth, I heard a loud cracking noise, and the branch I was sitting on bent sharply, causing me to shriek out. I clutched the trunk and waited for the tree to stabilize as a number of birds flew out, spooked.

Evelyn: The shaking stopped, and the branch didn't look like it was gonna snap anymore. I peeked an eye open when I heard someone shout 'hey' "Hay is for horses!" I shouted back, "But oats taste nasty..." I shifted my weight and stuck my foot on the part of the branch that wasn't wanting to break. As I stood all the way up, the branch cracked some more, and twigs fell to the ground. "Watch out, there's a branch up here!" I shouted to whoever was down there.

Evelyn: "To climb the tree, of course" I said to whoever had asked. "And the only thing that is going to break is the branch...If it hits anyone, sorry!" I took a breath and reached towards the 6th branch. I tugged on it a bit, sending a shower of leaves fluttering to the ground, to see if it could hold me. It didn't crack, but I dangled from it, just in case. Still no cracking. When I swung my feet to get back on the branch, one slipped and the entire branch came crashing down, causing me to scream again as I dangled from the branch above. "Sorrrreeeee!"
