Fletcher nodded and walked over to the body that had almost bitten Shalena. He rolled it over with his foot so that it faced upward and looked at its glassy eyes. "Such a waste," he said quietly.

I stood shakily. I blinked and gasped seeing a zombie behind him. "Fletcher!" I yell and push him out of the way. The zombie grabbed me and bit into my shoulder. I screamed in pain, got my gun free and shot him in the head. I fell back, tears running down my face.

Fletcher caught Shalena before she fell. Blood was running from the bite in her shoulder. "Oh heck," he muttered. He guided Shalena to a chair and had her sit down. He went over to his bag and dug out a hypodermic needle.

Fletcher walked back over to Shalena and showed her the needle. "This is the cure, trust me. One of five in existance. Do you want it?"
