Lance: Mother's trying to imply something that it totally out of her own understanding. Dessie, this is Nikki, an old friend of mine. Nikki...uh...try to say hi or maybe wave. This is Desthonia. I think we worked together before, but Nikki was a vampire named Alex. I think.

Lance: I shivered at Nikki's cold glare. I wasn't sure who it was directed to, but either way, I was stuck in the middle of it.
I looked back to Desthonia, who wasn't as cordial by normal expectations. Trying to ease the tension developed between the two, I decided to break the silence.
"So, why are you here, Dessie?"

I stood between the two women, although the decision in doing so was something I half-heartedly regretted. I faced Nikki and glared at her.
"And my friend won't do anything irrational, right, Nikki?"

"I do not understand you, girl." She told her, though looked to Lance for assistance. After spying her knife, her nails grew from her fingers, freshly sharpenedand she bore her discoloured, sharp, triangular teeth. "You clearly do not know who you are speaking to, girl."

"To be honest, I don't really care," she said flatly, "I've kinda gotten sick of arrogant bitches looking down on me," she said, widening her stance, glancing at Lance as he spoke, "Lance, I'd suggest you get out of the way," she said calmly, "because your friend is about to do something drastic."

Dessie took a couple of steps to Lance, and held his arm loosely. "Lance, I don't like her too much. Why would you have this girl as a friend?" She asked, scrunching her nose up, eyes widened. Yes, she was a lot less violent than she used to be. By now she would have bitten into her throat, if it wasn't for Lance.

He glanced at Nikki, his stand between them unwavering. Among any other women, he'd be armed- a dirk at least, but he stood unarmed ready to defend both sides depending on who attacked first. It wasn't an act of petty chivalry, but one of pure pacifism.
He disliked it when his friends fought. Lance never understood as to why all of his friends disliked each other somehow or another. Maybe his choices in friends were so bipolar that they clashed.
Lance looked down at Desthonia, tensing at the fact that her nails were about to dig into his arm.
"Dessie, how about to retract your claws and calm down? Nikki, put that away. I'm sure you two ladies can maturely get to know each other instead of getting to know each other's preferred weapons. Those normally come after proper introductions and friendly conversations."
