As the sky darkened, the sun being swallowed by a cloud, Drew sighed, opening his eyes. He wiped his fingers on his shorts before standing.
"Cheer up Drew," he muttered, sliding his hands into his pockets, "They'll be...others."
Flicking his small fringe out of an eye, he began the slow trudge home, his flipflops clacking though hardly heard over the sound of the cars on the roads over the fence.

She let out a sigh of happiness, as she stood still, trying not to breathe too heaviltfrom the sudden burst of running. Her eyes now smiled wider, glistening the same blue green colour of the vast lake trickling before her. She stared, not flinching even, when a familiar figure rose from the same gap in the trees, resting his elbow on her boney shoulder.

June sighed again, she had climbed the tree so no one could see her cry but now she was up here she only felt silly. She had decided to go to the park once he had left, she had no other reason to be there but it seemed dramatic. He had left and with him he had taken her only friend, her only home, and her only family.
All she had left was the clothes upon her person and her own free wil.
