Lexi: I nodded and slid it over to him. There was a picture of him as a child, wrapped in a blanket. Then one of him when he was eight, playing little league baseball, him at thirteen or fourteen on his first date, him in a year at prom, him at 25 standing at the altar, him at thirty sitting in a hospital waiting room waiting for his child to be born, him and his wife at fifty as the grandchildren come to visit. Both of them at seventy in the nursing home. Both of them at eighty sitting in the park together is the last one.

Lexi: "Thanks." I said softly. "You could ask blood if she'd want me to make her one too." I offered. I'd always felt that inner demons had feelings too so I included them.
